Castello di Bossi Wedding Cost (2026): Prices & Capacity

Castello di Bossi is a castle of 1099 on 600 hectares of Chianti Classico vineyard and woodland outside Castelnuovo Berardenga, twenty minutes from Siena, and one of the estates that built the Tuscan wedding weekend as a format. You do not rent a hall for an evening. You take the whole estate for three nights, sleep up to 77 people in the castle and three restored farmhouses, marry in a consecrated church, a civil ceremony or the Lemon Garden, and spend the days in between tasting the estate's wine.

The buyout pricing is clear, which is rarer than it should be in Tuscany. The Weekend Experience starts around €40,000 plus VAT for the farmhouses and one event day; the Full Estate Buyout adds the castle and three event days from about €92,000 plus VAT. What sits on top is the usual list, catering to transport, and the one constraint to plan around is an indoor room that seats about 80.

Bossi's argument is completeness. Most Tuscan estates give you one or two of the things a destination wedding needs and send you elsewhere for the rest. Bossi has the beds for 77, a legal civil ceremony on the property, two churches for a Catholic one, and a working Chianti Classico winery for the days around the wedding, so a guest can arrive on Friday and not leave the gates until Monday. For 60 to 80 people that is a very good weekend, and the Full Buyout's three event days are what make it one: welcome dinner, wedding, farewell lunch, all at home.

The two things to settle before you fall for it are the room and the gap between the packages. The largest indoor hall seats about 80, so a wedding above that number has a marquee in its rain plan and probably in its design. And the Weekend Experience at €40,000 buys one event day, which means a welcome dinner on the estate is either in the €92,000 package or negotiated separately. Villa La Selva, half an hour away, includes two events in a similar headline, which is the comparison to run.

Two packages, both exclusive use of the estate with accommodation, both quoted plus VAT. Catering, planning, rentals, florals, production and transport are separate.

The estate does not publish catering prices, a minimum spend, deposit terms or a fee for a second event on the Weekend Experience. Ask for all of them in writing, and for the cost of extending the one event day before you choose the smaller package.

Planning ranges including the buyout with VAT, catering and bar, planner, florals, rentals, production, photography, music and transport for guests off the estate. They exclude off-estate rooms, flights and attire.

Up to about 80 guests the wedding moves into the castle's halls and loses little. Above 80, plan a marquee from the start; the estate has the room for one in the gardens, and couples often design it in so the vineyard views stay part of dinner rather than treating it as insurance. Ask for a seated floor plan of the largest hall at your guest count, because 'about 80' shrinks once a band and a bar are in the room.

Up to 77 on the estate: the three farmhouses, each with apartments, a pool and its own outdoor space, take 63, and the castle adds the couple, parents and wedding party in the Full Buyout. For a bigger guest list, put the overflow in one or two places close by.

The estate's materials do not set out a catering policy, approved supplier list, music curfew or decibel limit, so these are the first questions to ask: whether catering is in-house, exclusive or open; which vendors need approval; when outdoor music ends and where the late party goes; and whether fireworks and open flames are allowed on a wine estate surrounded by woodland. Bossi's own Chianti Classico is the obvious wine for the table, and tastings in the cellar, cooking classes, riding and truffle hunting fill the days around the wedding.

Bossi covers every kind of ceremony on the estate, which few venues do. A legal civil ceremony can be held on the property, so international couples finish the paperwork and the wedding in one place; two consecrated churches on the estate take a Catholic wedding without a drive; and the Lemon Garden or the vineyards host a symbolic ceremony outdoors. Non-Italian couples still need a Nulla Osta, an Atto Notorio and certified translations for the civil ceremony; allow 60 to 90 days and confirm the Comune di Castelnuovo Berardenga's fee.

With most guests on the estate, transport is airport transfers in and a shuttle for any overflow from Siena. Confirm the largest coach that can reach the castle on the estate roads before signing a transport contract.

May, June and September. Late spring gives green vineyards and comfortable days; September puts the weekend in the harvest, which on a working estate is the best version of the place. July and August are hot; seat the ceremony late and let the farmhouse pools do the afternoons. October is handsome and quieter, with more rain and the 80-seat hall carrying more weight.

Best for: 60 to 80 guests who want a three-day wedding with everyone in residence; a legal ceremony and a church on the estate; wine as part of the weekend; clear buyout pricing.
