Villa La Selva Wedding Cost (2027): Pricing, Capacity & Everything to Know

Villa La Selva is a family-owned organic wine estate in the Val d’Ambra, on the boundary between Chianti and the province of Arezzo, roughly an hour and 15 minutes from Florence Airport. The estate is rented exclusively for a minimum of three nights, with a single nightly rate that includes accommodation, breakfast, housekeeping and use of the property for the wedding day.

The pricing is unusually straightforward for a Tuscany wedding venue, but there are still a few details to pin down before booking. The standard package covers events for up to 100 guests, while several spaces are listed for as many as 200. What the brochure does not publish is the seated capacity of those spaces by layout, particularly for a rainy-day dinner. This guide covers that, along with exactly what the package includes, the vendor rules, where guests can stay and how they get there.

Many Tuscan wedding venues give you a beautiful setting, but leave most of the accommodation to you. Villa La Selva is different. The estate is rented exclusively for a minimum of three nights, with one nightly rate that includes accommodation, breakfast, housekeeping and use of the property for the wedding itself. For a wedding of around 50 guests, that means most or potentially all of the group can stay together on the estate for the full weekend.

The pricing structure is one of the biggest advantages. At many Tuscany venues, you pay a rental fee, then an event fee, then accommodation, with VAT added to some or all of those costs. La Selva packages most of that into one nightly number, with VAT included with accommodation, breakfast and both the welcome event and wedding day built into the base package. Based on the 2027 rates we found, three nights start at roughly €40,350 to €57,450 depending on the season and day of the week. That is a meaningful difference, but the structure itself is much easier to understand and budget around. Compared with Villa Cetinale, which requires a full Friday-to-Friday rental in high season, La Selva’s three-night minimum is also a much more flexible commitment.

There is plenty to build a full weekend around. Villa La Selva is a working organic winery, and its barrel cellar can be used for the late-night party. There is also a 15th-century family chapel on the property. Next door, a polo club with four fields hosts national and international tournaments, which gives the estate a setting you do not see at many Tuscany wedding venues. Siena, Arezzo and the thermal baths at Rapolano Terme are all around 40 minutes away.

The main thing to understand before booking is how much of the wedding weekend runs through Villa La Selva’s preferred supplier network. Catering, open bar and lighting must come from trusted partners, although couples can contact those vendors directly and request personalized proposals. There is much more flexibility elsewhere. You can choose your own planner, florist, photographer, videographer and other creative suppliers. A professional planner is required. For 2027 weddings, there is also some uncertainty around the 2027 expansion to factor in, since the estate is adding new suites and event spaces after the 2026 season. Villa La Selva expects the work to increase on-site accommodation from 50 guests to roughly 60 to 70, but we would confirm the completion timeline before relying on that extra capacity.

Villa La Selva provided RoamRecs with its 2027 wedding brochure and current pricing. The estate requires a minimum three-night stay and is rented on an exclusive-use basis, with rates ranging from €13,450 to €19,150 per night depending on the season and day of the week. VAT is included.

The package is more comprehensive than the headline rate might suggest. It includes accommodation for up to 50 guests, daily continental breakfast, housekeeping, welcome-bag delivery and two events for up to 100 guests: a welcome event and the wedding day. Food and beverage, planning, décor and several other wedding costs are separate.

Venue Rental, 2027

• Low season, midweek: €13,450 per night. Three nights from €40,350
• Low season, weekend: €14,750 per night. Three nights from €44,250
• High season, midweek: €17,150 per night. Three nights from €51,450
• High season, weekend: €19,150 per night. Three nights from €57,450

High season runs from May 1 through October 30. Low season runs from November 1 through April 30. Midweek stays begin on Monday or Tuesday, while weekend stays begin on Thursday or Friday. All rates include VAT. From the fourth night onward, Villa La Selva applies a discounted nightly rate.

For weddings above 100 guests, an additional fee applies. The brochure does not publish that surcharge.

What the Wedding Package Includes

The three-night rate includes:

• Exclusive use of Villa La Selva
• Three nights in 20 rooms
• Accommodation for 44 guests, plus six extra beds for a maximum of 50
• Daily continental breakfast
• Daily room cleaning
• Welcome-bag delivery
• A welcome event for up to 100 guests

That last point is worth paying attention to. Villa La Selva includes both the welcome event and wedding day within the three-night package rather than charging a separate venue fee for each of those two events.

This also makes the comparison with Castello di Bossi useful. A similar headline venue price does not necessarily buy the same thing. At Villa La Selva, accommodation and two events are already built into the base package.

What Costs Extra

The brochure specifically excludes:

• Wedding planner
• Food and beverage
• Event setup and décor
• Open bar
• Additional events beyond the welcome event and wedding day
• Civil ceremony and celebrant costs
• Security and lifeguards for pool events
• Tourism tax

A professional wedding or event planner is required, although Villa La Selva confirmed to RoamRecs that couples are free to choose their own planner. Couples can also choose their own florist, photographer, videographer and other creative vendors. Extra Event Fees

The standard package includes two events. If you want to add a third event, such as a farewell brunch or pool party, Villa La Selva publishes the following fees:

• Up to 60 guests: €3,000
• 61 to 100 guests: €6,000
• 101 to 150 guests: €9,000
• 151 to 200 guests: price on request

These fees are for use of the venue for the additional event. Food, drinks, rentals and other production costs would still sit on top.

Food and Beverage

Villa La Selva requires couples to use one of its approved catering partners. Outside caterers are not allowed, but the venue provides its partner list and couples can approach those caterers directly for proposals.

Villa La Selva’s own wines must be served at all events, with a 10% discount applied to the estate’s wine selection. Open-bar service is also arranged through one of the venue’s trusted partners. The bar can be set up at the existing Wine Bar or elsewhere on the estate depending on the event.

The venue does not publish standard catering or open-bar prices, so those are two of the first quotes we would request when building a full wedding budget.

Payment Terms

Villa La Selva requires a 40% deposit at booking, with the remaining balance due four months before the wedding day. The brochure does not publish cancellation terms or a security-deposit policy.

The Costs That Sit on Top

The venue package gives you a substantial portion of the weekend, but it is still only the starting point for the full wedding budget. The ranges below are RoamRecs planning estimates based on Tuscany wedding costs, not prices quoted by Villa La Selva.

• Catering: roughly €150 to €300 per person
• Open bar: roughly €25 to €50 per person
• Estate wine: roughly €1,500 to €5,000, depending on guest count and wine selection

For 2027 weddings, there is one additional wrinkle. Villa La Selva told RoamRecs that it plans to add new suites and dedicated event spaces after the 2026 season, increasing on-site accommodation from 50 guests to roughly 60 to 70. Since that work is still planned rather than complete, I would confirm both the final room count and any effect on pricing before relying on the additional capacity.

These are RoamRecs planning estimates based on Villa La Selva’s current venue rates and typical Tuscany wedding costs. They are not quotes from the venue or its suppliers.

• 50 guests: roughly €90,000 to €190,000
• 80 guests: roughly €95,000 to €205,000
• 100 guests: roughly €100,000 to €215,000

Includes: the three-night exclusive-use package and on-site accommodation, catering and open bar, Villa La Selva wine, wedding planner, florals and design, rentals and lighting, photography and video, music and licensing, food and drinks for a welcome event and farewell brunch, and guest transportation.

Excludes: hotel rooms for guests staying off the estate, flights, attire, rings, honeymoon costs, and any VAT added to supplier quotes that are provided before tax.

The fixed venue cost has a big effect on the per-person math. The three-night package starts at €40,350 and can reach €57,450 before catering, flowers, music or any of the other major wedding expenses are added. That bill changes very little whether you invite 50 people or 100.

As a result, smaller weddings do not necessarily mean dramatically smaller budgets here. A 50-person wedding works out to roughly €1,800 to €3,800 per guest using our estimates, while a 100-person wedding is closer to €1,000 to €2,150 per guest. Villa La Selva makes the most financial sense when you are actually using the accommodation and the two included event days rather than paying for the estate and leaving much of it empty.

The standard package covers events for up to 100 guests, so that is a realistic wedding size at the property. The bigger logistical question is where everyone sleeps. Villa La Selva currently accommodates up to 50 overnight guests, which means an 80- or 100-person wedding requires off-site accommodation and transportation for part of the group. The venue told RoamRecs that new suites planned for the 2027 season should increase on-site capacity to roughly 60 to 70 guests.

Villa La Selva has two substantial indoor event spaces: The Ceremony Hall and La Barriccaia & Wine Bar. The venue’s wedding brochure lists both at up to 200 guests and specifically identifies them as indoor spaces. The Ceremony Hall is also shown set for a seated dinner, so there is a real indoor option if the weather turns.

What the brochure does not give is a seated rain-plan capacity. “Up to 200 guests” could refer to several different layouts, and a room that holds 200 for a ceremony or standing reception may hold considerably fewer once you add dinner tables, service space and production. Villa La Selva also does not publish floor plans or capacities with a dance floor.

La Barriccaia adds another wrinkle. It is the only space where party music and dancing are permitted late at night, with festivities allowed there until 2 a.m. If it is also being used as part of the wet-weather dinner plan, you will want to understand how the room turns over from dinner to dancing and whether the full guest count still works.

For 2027 weddings, Villa La Selva has told RoamRecs that new dedicated event spaces are being added after the 2026 season. That could improve the rain plan further, but the work is not complete yet, so we would not rely on those spaces until the venue confirms exactly what is being built and that it will be ready for your date.

RoamRecs take: Ask Villa La Selva for the seated dinner capacity of both the Ceremony Hall and La Barriccaia, including a sample floor plan for your guest count. We would also ask how the rain plan works from ceremony through dinner and dancing, whether a tent is permitted anywhere on the estate, and, for 2027 weddings, which of the new event spaces will be finished in time.

This is one of Villa La Selva’s biggest advantages. The current wedding package includes all 20 rooms on the estate, with space for 44 guests in standard beds and six additional beds bringing the maximum to 50.

On-Site Accommodation

• Villa Altaserra: 7 rooms sleeping 16. This is the main villa and includes the bridal suite, an executive suite with space for four, and a separate dependance
• The Winery House: 3 rooms sleeping 8, plus one additional bed
• La Colonica Oliveto: 4 rooms sleeping 8, plus one additional bed
• Garden Suites: 6 private suites sleeping 12, with four additional beds available
• Total: 20 rooms for 44 guests, plus six extra beds for a maximum of 50

Daily continental breakfast and room cleaning are included in the wedding package.

For a wedding of 40 to 50 people, that means most or all of the guest list can stay on the property for the full three-night weekend. That is a real advantage compared with Tuscany venues where the couple rents the estate but most guests still need hotels and daily transportation.

What Changes in 2027

Villa La Selva told RoamRecs that construction will begin after the 2026 season on additional suites and dedicated event spaces. The venue expects the expansion to increase on-site accommodation to approximately 60 to 70 guests for the 2027 season.

We would still treat that as planned capacity rather than guaranteed capacity until the new rooms are finished. If your wedding depends on accommodating more than 50 people on-site, get the final room count and opening date confirmed in writing before booking.

Where Should Wedding Guests Stay?

Once your guest list moves above the estate’s overnight capacity, you will need to split some guests between nearby properties. This part of Tuscany has plenty of villas, agriturismi and small hotels, but relatively few large hotels close to Villa La Selva, so keeping the overflow group concentrated takes some planning.

• Relais La Martina, Pietraviva: The closest hotel-style option we found and a natural first choice for immediate overflow. It sits by the Villa a Sesta Polo Club and is close enough to work well for family or the wedding party
• Castelletto di Montebenichi: A small apartment-style property in nearby Montebenichi. Better for a few families or couples than for a large room block
• Hotel Valdarno, Montevarchi: The most practical option for a larger group. It is roughly 25 to 30 minutes away and gives you enough scale to keep a meaningful number of guests together and run coaches to the venue
• Borgo San Felice, Castelnuovo Berardenga: The luxury option, around half an hour away. Best for guests who want a higher-end Chianti stay rather than the most convenient overflow hotel
• Arezzo: Around 40 minutes away and the best option if you need a much larger hotel base. It also gives guests restaurants, bars and sightseeing within walking distance if you put them in the historic center

Il Borro in San Giustino Valdarno and Castello di Spaltenna in Gaiole in Chianti are also worth considering for guests looking for a higher-end stay, although neither is the most convenient choice purely for wedding logistics.

Our recommendation: Keep the families and wedding party at Villa La Selva first. For a wedding that exceeds the on-site capacity, use the closest small properties for a handful of priority guests and concentrate the rest in one larger hotel rather than scattering them across the valley. For 2027 weddings, the planned expansion to roughly 60 to 70 overnight guests could make that considerably easier.

Villa La Selva gives couples plenty of freedom on the creative side, but food, bar and lighting run through the estate’s partner network.

Catering: Outside caterers are not permitted. Villa La Selva provides a list of trusted catering partners, and couples can contact them directly for customized proposals.

Open bar: Bar service is also arranged through one of the venue’s trusted partners. It can operate from the existing Wine Bar or from a separate setup elsewhere on the estate.

Wine: Villa La Selva’s own wines must be served at all events. The estate offers a 10% discount on its wine selection.

Wedding planner: A professional wedding or event planner is required, but you are free to choose your own. Villa La Selva told RoamRecs that couples can also choose their own florist, photographer, videographer and other creative vendors. Lighting is handled through the venue’s trusted partners. The estate works with your planner and requires event plans and timings to be approved in advance.

Music: Outdoor music must finish by 11 p.m. and is limited to background music. After 11 p.m., the party moves to La Barriccaia & Wine Bar, where music and dancing can continue until 2 a.m. La Barriccaia is the only designated dance floor for the late-night portion of the wedding. Guests are also responsible for arranging and paying the applicable SIAE licence.

Pool parties: Tramonto Pool can be used for daytime events until 7 p.m. Lifeguards are mandatory for any poolside event, even if guests are not swimming, and swimming is not permitted while food or drinks are being served.

What We Would Still Confirm

The brochure does not spell out every production rule. Before signing, we would ask about fireworks, candles and open flames, generator requirements, vendor load-in and breakdown times, noise limits inside La Barriccaia, and any restrictions tied to the new 2027 event spaces.

Villa La Selva is rural, but it is reasonably accessible for a Tuscany destination wedding. Florence is the most convenient major airport, and guests coming by train can use Bucine, Montevarchi or Arezzo depending on where they are arriving from.

Airports

• Florence (FLR): about 1 hour 15 minutes by car. The venue lists the distance as 93 km, although routing tools generally show closer to 78 km
• Perugia (PEG): about 1 hour 10 minutes, with a much smaller selection of flights
• Pisa (PSA): about 2 hours
• Rome Fiumicino (FCO): about 2 hours 20 minutes to 2 hours 45 minutes
• Rome Ciampino (CIA): about 2 hours 30 minutes

For most international guests, Florence is the obvious choice. Rome can make sense for guests who want more nonstop flight options and are comfortable adding a longer transfer or a train journey.

By Train

There are three useful stations depending on the trip.

• Bucine: the closest station, roughly 16 km and under 20 minutes from the estate. Regional trains connect it with Florence and Arezzo, but onward transportation needs to be arranged in advance
• Montevarchi-Terranuova: roughly 25 to 30 minutes away. It has more transportation options than Bucine and is useful if you are putting overflow guests in Montevarchi
• Arezzo: roughly 40 minutes away and the best rail option for many guests arriving from Rome or elsewhere in Italy. It is served by regional, Intercity and high-speed trains

For wedding guests, the train is best viewed as a way to get close to Villa La Selva rather than all the way there. The final leg still requires a taxi, private car or organized transfer.

Taxis and Transfers

This is the part to organize in advance. Villa La Selva is not somewhere we would tell guests to arrive and then look for a taxi.

Taxi supply is limited around Bucine, Ambra and Montebenichi, with many cars coming from larger nearby towns. The estate also offers airport and station transfers on request for an additional charge.

For a destination wedding, the easiest setup is to arrange private airport transfers for key arrivals and use scheduled vans or coaches for groups traveling together.

Coaches and Venue Access

There are indications that coaches can operate in the area, but we would still confirm the maximum vehicle size that can comfortably reach Villa La Selva before signing a transportation contract.

Ask the venue or your transport company specifically about the final approach, turning space and where coaches can wait during the event. This matters more if you are moving a large group back to Montevarchi, Arezzo or another off-site hotel late at night.

Do Wedding Guests Need a Car?

If most of your guests are staying at Villa La Selva, probably not.

The easiest version of this wedding is for guests to fly into Florence, take a pre-arranged transfer to the estate and stay there for the three-night weekend. With breakfast, the welcome event and wedding all happening on the property, there is little reason for them to drive once they arrive.

For larger weddings, transportation becomes more important. Villa La Selva currently accommodates up to 50 overnight guests. The venue has told RoamRecs that planned new suites should increase that to roughly 60 to 70 for the 2027 season. Any guests who do not fit on the estate will need accommodation elsewhere, and the most practical hotel options are generally 20 to 40 minutes away.

In that case, we would keep the off-site guests together in one or two hotels and run scheduled transportation rather than asking everyone to arrange their own taxis.

Guests who want to explore Chianti, Siena or the surrounding countryside before or after the wedding will probably appreciate having a rental car. Guests who are simply coming for the wedding weekend should not need one if transportation is organized properly.

What to Budget for Transportation

As a rough planning allowance:

• 50 guests: around €1,500 to €4,000
• 100 guests: around €4,000 to €9,000

The biggest variables are how many people stay off-site, how many airport transfers you cover and whether you run multiple late-night coach departures.

Villa La Selva divides its calendar into two pricing seasons. High season runs from May 1 through October 30, while low season runs from November 1 through April 30. Unlike some Tuscany venues, there is no separate premium for July or September. The nightly rate depends on whether you are in high or low season and whether you book midweek or over a weekend.

Late May, June and Early September

This would be our first choice.

You get the green vineyards and long evenings that most couples picture when they think of a Tuscany wedding, while avoiding some of the strongest midsummer heat. These months also suit Villa La Selva particularly well because so much of the property is designed around outdoor events, from dinner along The Avenue to cocktails in the gardens and around the pool.

The tradeoff is price. These dates fall squarely within high season.

Mid-September to October

A strong choice if the winery itself is part of the appeal.

Harvest season gives a working wine estate a different atmosphere, and September in particular can be an excellent balance of warm weather and slightly shorter days. By October, evenings become cooler and the chance of rain increases, so we would put more emphasis on the indoor plan.

Do not assume October is cheaper. Villa La Selva keeps high-season pricing in place through October 30.

July and August

These are the hottest months and still carry Villa La Selva’s high-season pricing.

For a summer wedding, we would schedule the ceremony later in the day and avoid asking guests to sit in direct sun during the hottest part of the afternoon. Tramonto Pool can also be used for daytime events, although Villa La Selva requires lifeguards for all poolside events and pool parties must finish by 7 p.m.

One logistical consideration is Siena’s Palio, held on July 2 and August 16. If a meaningful number of guests are staying in or visiting Siena, those dates can complicate hotel availability and traffic.

April

April is the interesting value play.

It falls within Villa La Selva’s low season through April 30, so the three-night package starts materially lower than it does in May. Low-season midweek pricing starts at €13,450 per night compared with €17,150 in high season, while a low-season weekend starts at €14,750 compared with €19,150.

The obvious tradeoff is weather. For an April wedding, we would want the venue to show exactly how your guest count fits inside the Ceremony Hall or La Barriccaia for a seated dinner, not just rely on the brochure’s general capacity of up to 200 guests.

Our Pick

For the best combination of weather, scenery and the ability to use the estate outdoors, we would target late May, June or early September.

If budget matters more, April is the most interesting option because it still qualifies for low-season pricing. October can be beautiful, but it does not come with the pricing discount you might expect from a shoulder-season wedding.

• Will construction be fully finished before our wedding, and can the new rooms and spaces be guaranteed in the contract?

• What are the current Villa La Selva wine prices after the 10% discount, and is there a minimum purchase? Can any outside wine or Champagne be brought in?
• Is there a decibel limit inside La Barriccaia in addition to the 2 a.m. music cutoff?
• Can a legally binding civil ceremony be held on the property, and what additional fees or paperwork are required?
• What are the cancellation and postponement terms, and is there a security or damage deposit?

• Are candles, open flames, fireworks or other special effects permitted?
• Are generators or additional power distribution required for larger lighting, sound or production setups?
• What size coaches can comfortably reach the estate, where can they wait and turn, and what does the estate charge for airport or station transfers?
• What additional rules apply to the new 2027 event spaces once they open?

• Borgo Stomennano, Monteriggioni, about 55 minutes away. Better if you want lower published venue pricing and a smaller, more intimate setup. Its 2026 rate sheet starts at €25,000 for three midweek nights or €27,700 from Friday to Monday for 38 overnight guests, including 10% VAT. A separate wedding reception fee of €3,200 to €5,200 applies depending on guest count. Breakfast and additional events cost extra, so compare the full package rather than the headline rental rate.
• Castello di Bossi, Castelnuovo Berardenga, about 30 minutes away. Better if you want another working wine estate with more on-site accommodation. Its three-night Weekend Experience starts at roughly €40,000 plus VAT and sleeps around 63 guests, while larger buyouts can accommodate roughly 77. The main difference is what the base rate includes. Villa La Selva includes both a welcome event and wedding day, while Castello di Bossi’s package includes one day of event-space access.
• Villa Cetinale, Sovicille near Siena, about an hour away. Better if the priority is a landmark historic villa and formal gardens rather than a working wine estate. Villa Cetinale caps weddings at around 100 guests and has the Limonaia as its principal indoor option. It is also dramatically more expensive, with 2027 buyout packages starting around €90,000 and climbing well above €200,000 before the rest of the wedding budget. For a Villa La Selva wedding, it may be more relevant as a luxury hotel option for a small group of guests than as a direct competitor.

The main difference: Villa La Selva sits in an appealing middle ground. It gives you a three-night private estate, accommodation for up to 50 guests today, two included events and VAT-inclusive pricing from about €40,000 to €57,000. You can find cheaper venues, larger venues and more elaborate resorts, but relatively few nearby properties combine that much of the wedding weekend into one package at this price point. For 2027, the planned expansion to roughly 60 to 70 overnight guests could make that proposition even stronger.
