Villa Scorzi Wedding Guide (2027): Pricing, Capacity & Everything to Know

Villa Scorzi is a historic villa in the Valgraziosa valley at Calci, about 20 to 30 minutes by road from Pisa Airport, with a formal Italian Garden, two enclosed courtyards, a rose-covered ceremony walkway and two substantial indoor event rooms. Its published 2027 wedding-day rental is €12,500, including a room for the couple and breakfast. A two-night package that bundles the wedding with 12 rooms for 27 people costs €17,500. Both figures include 22% mandatory VAT.

The distinction that matters most is between staying at the villa and hosting additional events there. Adding an arrival dinner lifts the two-night package from €17,500 to €30,000, an extra residential night does not automatically authorise another party, and pool parties are prohibited outright.

For couples who want a Tuscan villa wedding near Pisa without committing to a week-long estate rental, Scorzi deserves a serious look. The questions to settle before booking are the exact seated rain-plan capacity, what the arrival-dinner package actually includes, and how much of the property is reserved exclusively for your group.

Villa Scorzi’s strongest feature is the combination of setting and flexibility. You get a formal Tuscan villa, enclosed courtyards, gardens and two indoor event rooms, but you do not have to buy a long residential stay to hold a wedding there. The difference between the €12,500 wedding-day package and the €17,500 two-night package is €5,000, and that €5,000 brings 12 rooms and accommodation for 27 people into the booking.

For a destination wedding, the two-night option is the natural starting point. Your closest family arrives the day before, settles in and gets ready without checking into rooms on the wedding afternoon. Everyone else stays in Pisa or the surrounding area, which is one of the easier overflow situations in Tuscany because the city has real hotel inventory 20 to 30 minutes from the gate. That is a different proposition from the Chianti and Val d’Orcia estates where the nearest room block can be 40 minutes away.

The property also offers more variety than a venue built around one garden and one dinner terrace. An outdoor ceremony, garden drinks, a courtyard dinner and an indoor party can each have a genuinely different setting, and the Lemon House and Granary provide indoor alternatives rather than leaving the whole weather plan dependent on a temporary structure. Their exact seated capacities still need to be established for your layout.

The preferred guest count here is around 80 to 120, with an especially appealing proposition around 80 to 90 for couples drawn to the Rose Garden, which is listed for ceremonies of up to 90. That is an editorial preference rather than a venue limit. Larger weddings require more scrutiny of the indoor layout, circulation and party space.

The limitation is the weekend format. Scorzi is not somewhere to assume that booking bedrooms gives you permission to invite everyone back for a pool party, a casual barbecue or a farewell celebration. The two-night arrival-dinner package costs €12,500 more than the equivalent wedding-only package, and pool parties are expressly banned.

Shortlist Scorzi for a wedding-centred stay: a strong main celebration, close family on site, an organised hotel-and-shuttle plan for everyone else, and perhaps a separate welcome dinner nearby. Look elsewhere for a wedding where most of the guest list must sleep together, where unrestricted poolside entertaining is central to the weekend, or where a late outdoor party is non-negotiable. Scorzi’s value lies in choosing the right package and using it well, not in treating the property as an all-inclusive resort.

Villa Scorzi offers six published rental packages for 2027, and all include 22% VAT. The main differences are the number of accommodation nights and whether an arrival dinner is part of the event programme.

The published schedule contains no separate seasonal or weekday-versus-weekend price grid. Do not assume that an October, winter or midweek date automatically carries a discount.

What is mandatory, and what is optional?

You do not have to book all 12 rooms to hold a wedding. The €12,500 wedding-day package is a separate option and includes a room for the couple.

The larger accommodation commitment is optional. Moving to the one-night package brings the price to €15,000, and two nights cost €17,500. The wedding-day rental is already inside those packages, so there is no basis for adding the €12,500 wedding-day price again.

Likewise, the difference between the two- and three-night wedding-only packages is €2,500, and the same €2,500 difference applies between the two- and three-night packages with an arrival dinner. These are package comparisons, not a published standalone nightly room rate.

The arrival dinner is the big budget decision

Adding an arrival dinner increases the two-night package from €17,500 to €30,000. For three nights, it increases the package from €20,000 to €32,500. In both cases the difference is €12,500.

Request an itemised breakdown. Until that arrives, keep food and drink as separate planning allowances rather than assuming the package pays for dinner for the entire wedding.

An off-site welcome dinner is worth pricing alongside the on-site option. Locanda Villamorosa, the villa’s associated restaurant in Caprona, is described by the venue as about 1 km and three minutes away. It is a possible lead for a smaller gathering, although its suitability for your full guest count must be confirmed.

Event hours and accommodation timing

The wedding-day-only lunch option runs from noon to 8 p.m. The two- and three-night packages that offer a lunch wedding list 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dinner weddings run from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., and arrival dinners run from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

These are event windows, not confirmed supplier setup hours or permission for amplified music throughout that period.

Accommodation check-in is 3 to 7 p.m., with checkout 9 to 11 a.m. This makes the one-night package less comfortable for a destination wedding: the scheduled wedding begins only an hour after check-in opens. Get earlier access confirmed, or choose a package that allows arrival the previous day.

What still needs a separate price

The venue packages do not provide an itemised wedding menu, bar package or comprehensive production inventory. Until those inclusions are confirmed, budget separately for wedding catering and drinks, planning, flowers, furniture and tabletop requirements, lighting, sound, photography, video, entertainment and guest transport.

Also establish whether there are mandatory charges for kitchen use, cleaning, security, event staff, utilities, room resets or particular suppliers. No amounts for those items, or a wedding food-and-beverage minimum, appear in the 2027 proposal. Their absence from the document is not proof that every one of them is free.

For a destination wedding using the €17,500 two-night package, these are sensible working budgets to start from:

• 60 guests: €75,000 to €120,000
• 100 guests: €95,000 to €150,000
• 120 guests: €105,000 to €170,000

These scenarios assume accommodation for up to 27 people for two nights, the wedding itself, one off-site welcome dinner for the full group, professional planning, mostly local suppliers and an indoor weather solution that has been approved for the guest count. They do not assume three fully produced events at Villa Scorzi or a marquee that has not yet been authorised.

The food-and-drink allowance equates to €220 to €320 per person for the wedding, with €80 to €130 per person for the off-site welcome dinner. These are planning assumptions informed by regional supplier benchmarks, not Villa Scorzi catering prices.

The venue line includes its published VAT. Supplier allowances are intended as gross planning amounts, allowing for VAT where applicable; request tax-inclusive proposals rather than applying the venue’s 22% rate to every service.

Excluded: off-site guest bedrooms, flights, attire, rings, honeymoon, individual airport transfers for every arrival, a separate farewell party and any substantial temporary weather structure. A refundable security deposit would be an additional cash requirement, not an assumed expense.

The clearest ways to reduce the total are a simpler floral scheme, fewer separate entertainment acts and fewer hosted events. Reducing the guest list helps, but it does not remove the fixed venue, planning, photography and production costs.

Villa Scorzi publishes capacities for individual spaces rather than one clearly defined seated-wedding maximum.

The largest outdoor figures are 200 people for the Monumental Courtyard and the Italian Garden. Indoors, the Lemon House is listed for 180 and the Granary for 140. Those numbers are not accompanied by seating plans showing tables, service aisles, bars, entertainment and dancing.

Villa Scorzi’s main wedding spaces

These are published space capacities, not interchangeable seated, standing and dancing limits.

How the wedding could flow

For a garden-and-courtyard wedding, a sensible sequence to explore is a ceremony in the Italian Garden or Rose Garden, drinks in another garden or courtyard setting, dinner in the Monumental Courtyard, then an indoor party in the Granary.

That sequence uses spaces for purposes the venue identifies, but it is a proposed layout rather than an approved event plan. The actual arrangement must account for your ceremony size, dinner furniture, sound restrictions and wet-weather alternative.¹

The Small Courtyard is worth considering for a more contained dinner. Its published capacity is lower than the Monumental Courtyard’s, but the relevant question is how it feels with your actual tables and service requirements, not whether your guest count just fits under 120.

The Granary’s raised position also deserves attention. A site visit should follow the route from guest arrival through every event space, including toilets and the late-night party room, rather than assessing accessibility from the garden alone.

Villa Scorzi has two established indoor event options: the Lemon House and the Granary. Both are explicitly identified for Plan B, and the Lemon House is equipped for air-conditioning and/or heating. That is a materially better starting point for wet-weather planning than most historic villas in Tuscany, which is why this venue is worth considering in the shoulder months.

What remains unconfirmed is the seated capacity of the full rainy-day programme.

Ceremony

Both the Lemon House and the Granary are listed for ceremonies. One arrangement to test is holding the ceremony in the Granary while the Lemon House stays set for dinner.

The chapel is an option only for a much smaller group. The Park Loggia, listed for 50 and open at the sides, is not a substitute for a fully enclosed backup for a large wedding.

Drinks and guest holding space

This is the part of the rain plan that needs particular attention. Where do guests go after an indoor ceremony while dinner service is prepared or a room is reset? A venue can have enough nominal indoor capacity and still struggle with transitions if every room is already occupied.

Ask for a plan that identifies the cocktail area, bar position, cloakroom or umbrella arrangements and the route between spaces. Neither a courtyard nor an open-sided loggia should be treated as weatherproof without a specific covered solution.

Dinner

The Lemon House is the principal indoor dinner option to investigate. It is divided into two rooms, so confirm whether the published 180-person capacity is distributed across both, how many guests fit in each, and whether everyone can see speeches and the couple’s table.

Dancing

The Granary is listed for dancing and open-bar use. If it is also your indoor ceremony or dinner space, the plan needs to show who resets it, how long that takes and where guests wait. Its 140-person published capacity is not a guarantee of room for 140 people plus a stage, bar and dance floor.

The recommendation: obtain dry- and wet-weather floor plans before committing, even for 100 guests. For weddings approaching 180 to 200, this becomes a booking condition rather than a detail to resolve later.

Tent and marquee permission is not established in the current wedding proposal. Do not assume an outdoor capacity problem can be solved by adding a structure until the venue approves its location, dimensions, anchoring, flooring and installation requirements.

The 2027 residential wedding packages include 12 rooms accommodating 27 people, divided as follows:

• Main Villa: six double rooms and two quadruple rooms, maximum occupancy 20
• Ninfeo dell’Arancera annex: three double rooms and one single room, maximum occupancy 7
• Total: 12 rooms, 27 people

The main-villa rooms have private bathrooms, air-conditioning, minibars and electric kettles. Breakfast is included on the mornings specified in each package. The annex was originally the estate’s winter shelter for potted citrus trees, and takes its name from the ancient fish pond, the ninfeo, at its centre.

The room mix matters. Twenty-seven people assumes both quadruple rooms are fully occupied. If you allocate each of those rooms to one couple instead, the same inventory accommodates 23 people. Ask for the bed configurations before assigning families or promising everyone a conventional double room.

Also request a named rooming list and confirmation of which buildings and shared areas are private to the wedding. Booking 12 rooms is not, by itself, a contractual definition of exclusive access to the entire property. The villa’s own website lists eleven named suites in the main house and describes the annex in slightly different terms from the wedding proposal, so the package-specific 12-room inventory is the figure to work from and the rooming list is the thing to confirm.

For the main overflow group, one or two Pisa hotels are a better base than numerous small countryside properties. It makes arrival information, wedding shuttles and late-night returns far easier to organise, and Pisa itself gives guests a city to explore on the days either side.

Locanda Villamorosa, Caprona

The closest natural lead for a small number of additional guests. It combines accommodation with a Tuscan restaurant in a 19th-century building in the medieval village of Caprona, and Villa Scorzi places it about 1 km and three minutes from the villa. It is also worth discussing for a small family meal, but neither a large room block nor a full-wedding welcome dinner should be assumed without a capacity check.

Bagni di Pisa, San Giuliano Terme

The option to investigate for guests who want a spa-hotel stay rather than simply a convenient bedroom. Part of the Italian Hospitality Collection, its setting in the thermal town of San Giuliano Terme provides a different experience from staying in central Pisa. Use it for parents or a smaller luxury-oriented group rather than scattering the entire wedding between several premium properties.

Grand Hotel Duomo, Pisa

A useful central-hotel candidate for guests who want sightseeing and restaurants around them. The hotel sits inside Pisa’s restricted-traffic zone: its own access page says vehicles may transit to the hotel entrance only between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m., a 30-minute stop is allowed for unloading once the number plate is registered with reception, and the in-house garage holds a maximum of eight cars at €25 a day. Resolve the shuttle pickup location before confirming a room block. Permission for a guest car to reach a hotel is not the same thing as permission or practical access for a wedding coach.

Room availability, group rates and any minimum stays should be checked for the actual wedding dates. None of these off-site rooms is included in Villa Scorzi’s published packages.

Catering and bar

External caterers are used for Villa Scorzi weddings, but the current proposal does not establish whether couples may appoint any caterer or must choose from an approved list. It also does not publish a wedding menu, open-bar tariff or food-and-beverage minimum.

Get the supplier rules before collecting competing quotes. The catering proposal should identify food, wines, cocktails, service hours, staffing, kitchen requirements and equipment. Furniture and tableware should be itemised so that they are not paid for twice through both catering and a rental company.

The associated Locanda Villamorosa restaurant does not automatically make wedding catering an included in-house service.

Wedding planner

A compulsory wedding-planner requirement is not stated in the 2027 terms. Budget for a professional planner anyway for a destination wedding here. The work includes coordinating multiple event spaces, an off-site accommodation group, catering and production, a weather decision and transport home.

Ask what the venue’s own team handles and where that responsibility ends. Supplier recommendations, venue supervision and full wedding planning are different services.

Music and the 1 a.m. finish

The dinner-wedding package runs until 1 a.m. Plan your event around that end time.

However, the proposal does not specify an outdoor amplified-music cutoff, indoor decibel limit, required reduction in volume or an extension policy. A 1 a.m. booking end is not permission to play unrestricted outdoor music until 1 a.m.

The Granary is explicitly listed for dancing and open bar, making it the indoor party space to discuss first. Confirm when music must move inside, which sound system is permitted and when guests and suppliers must leave.

Applicable music licensing should be assigned to a named person in the planning team. SIAE runs a private-party licensing process for weddings using its protected repertoire; the venue rental should not be assumed to cover it.

Pool rules

The pool restrictions are unusually clear: pools are available from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. for hotel guests only. External guests are not permitted, and pool parties are prohibited under any circumstances.

That rules out inviting the entire off-site guest list back for a day-after pool party.

The three-night wedding-only package also explicitly identifies the day after the wedding as rooms only, with no party at the hotel. The corresponding arrival-dinner package does not include a separate farewell event either. Treat additional accommodation nights as a residential stay, not open-ended event access.

Production and access

Before booking suppliers, establish load-in and breakdown hours, kitchen access, power capacity, any generator requirement, waste removal, security and cleaning responsibilities.

Rules for candles, fireworks, open flames, temporary structures and attaching décor to historic surfaces are not supplied in the proposal. They need approval rather than assumptions based on past photographs.

Yes. Villa Scorzi is an approved location for civil marriages and civil unions through the Comune di Calci. The comune’s marriage service page names seven authorised locations, and Villa Scorzi is one of them, alongside the council chamber, the square in front of the Certosa di Calci and three farm and agriturismo properties. Dates and times must be agreed with the registrar, and the page states that ceremonies can also take place on public holidays and the days before them by prior agreement.

The comune refers to a separate tariff schedule for publications and ceremonies rather than printing the fees on the page. Confirm the authorised ceremony area on the estate, the indoor alternative, the current municipal fee for non-residents, the documentation you need and any interpreter requirement for your circumstances. The demographic services office is the contact.

The on-site chapel is a separate matter. Villa Scorzi lists it for symbolic ceremonies, so its presence should not be taken as confirmation that a Catholic wedding can be celebrated there. A specialist directory points couples wanting a religious ceremony to the Pieve di Calci or the church of Santa Giulia in Vicopisano nearby; treat those as leads to confirm with the parish, not as arrangements the venue makes. Couples seeking a religious ceremony should resolve the venue and officiant arrangements before booking.

Airports and stations

The following are road-planning allowances, not guaranteed journey times:

• Pisa Airport (PSA): approximately 20 to 30 minutes
• Pisa Centrale railway station: approximately 20 to 30 minutes
• Florence Airport (FLR): approximately 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes

Pisa Airport is the simplest default. Florence is a workable alternative when flights are more convenient, but its transfer should not be treated as equivalent to arriving in Pisa. The allowances above include a buffer over basic routing estimates; a specialist directory quotes 15 minutes from Pisa Airport, which is achievable off-peak but not a figure to build a shuttle timetable around.

Pisa Centrale is useful for guests combining the wedding with travel elsewhere in Italy. PisaMover connects the airport and the station in approximately five minutes, but it does not continue to Calci. A separate car or group transfer is still needed.

There is also a public bus connection: Autolinee Toscane’s route 120 serves Pisa, Calci and Montemagno. It can be useful for independent daytime travel, but wedding-night departures should not be built around public transport.

The shuttle plan to use

Keep the main off-site group at one or two hotels, establish a small number of pickup points and arrange scheduled transport to the villa. Coordinate the final return with the 1 a.m. event finish rather than telling guests to find their own cars at the end.

The estate diagram in the wedding proposal identifies parking, and the venue’s events page describes private parking for more than 500 vehicles and tour buses. Neither establishes the largest coach that can enter, turn and wait at the gate. Have the transport company verify the final approach, gate clearance, unloading point and turning arrangements before selecting vehicles.

Do wedding guests need a car?

Not for the wedding itself, provided airport or station arrivals and event shuttles are properly organised. Guests adding countryside excursions, or a day in Lucca or the Chianti hills, may prefer one.

A June scheduling detail

Pisa’s Luminara traditionally takes place on 16 June, ahead of San Ranieri’s feast day on 17 June. For weddings around those dates, check the relevant year’s city programme, hotel availability and pickup arrangements early. The celebrations can be an excellent addition to the trip, but they should not come as a surprise after the transport plan is fixed.

May is the first month to investigate, particularly for a ceremony in the Rose Garden. The venue identifies May as the flowering period for its rose-covered walkway, although the exact display will depend on the season.

June is another strong starting point for an outdoor-focused wedding. Compare it with May on the basis of the gardens, heat tolerance and the full indoor backup, rather than assuming either month is rain-free.

The regional numbers help. Consorzio LaMMA’s 1991 to 2020 averages for Pisa put mean monthly rainfall at 63 mm in April, 60 in May, 38 in June, 29 in July, 41 in August, 94 in September and 127 in October. Average daily highs run 18.5°C in April, 22.7 in May, 27.0 in June, 29.9 in July, 30.2 in August, 26.1 in September and 21.3 in October, with average lows of 15.3°C in June, 17.9 in July, 18.5 in August and 15.0 in September. These are regional climate patterns from the Pisa station, not a forecast for Calci or a specific wedding date.

The tradeoff is a more distributed, multi-house estate rather than concentrating the stay around one villa and its annex.

Borgo di Colleoli, Palaia
Worth considering for couples who prefer an apartment-based countryside resort. The property offers several apartment configurations, an on-site restaurant and pools within a historic village-like estate. Its appeal is the residential format; the current wedding allocation, event permissions and exclusivity still need a proposal. Do not assume ordinary resort facilities automatically permit wedding-weekend parties.
