Villa Medicea di Lilliano combines a wedding in the hills above Grassina with a guest stay that can extend into Florence. Its long, elevated Medici Terrace looks toward the city and surrounding countryside, while the courtyard, fountain garden and Limonaia give the celebration several distinct settings. Overnight guests stay in La Corte beside the Historical Villa and the separate La Torre villas, rather than in one large house.

For 2027, the wedding-and-accommodation packages range from €15,035 for one Thursday night in Cabernet season to €37,752 for a three-night Sangiovese-season weekend, including VAT. Every package includes 16 double suites for 32 guests and one event day at the Historical Villa. Another 12 guests can stay on six sofa beds for an additional charge. Catering, drinks, furniture and wedding production are separate.

Lilliano works particularly well for couples who want their closest guests on the estate and the rest enjoying Florence between celebrations. The Limonaia anchors the indoor evening, serving both as the dinner backup and the late-night party room. How those two uses fit together is the main layout decision.

Lilliano is strongest as a countryside wedding with a Florence guest base, not as a resort where the entire wedding stays together.

The terrace is a large part of the appeal. Long, raised and open to the view, it gives a ceremony a different character from a lawn in front of a house. Guests can then move through the courtyard and gardens before finishing in the timber-beamed Limonaia. The frescoed passage and fountain garden offer quieter portrait settings along the way.

The residential package suits a close family-and-friends group. Sixteen double suites, breakfast and housekeeping create a comfortable base, and La Torre gives that stay somewhere to expand into a welcome evening or next-day gathering. Florence adds restaurants, sightseeing and hotel choice for everyone else. The one-, two- and three-night formats also offer more flexibility than a compulsory weeklong rental.

The accommodation is intimate relative to the wedding. At 100 guests, 68 people need other rooms when using the 32 standard places. La Corte and La Torre are separate residential areas, so this is a stay across several villas rather than a house party with all the bedrooms upstairs. Families may appreciate the independence; couples who want every guest under one roof should look elsewhere.

The package also leaves much of the wedding to specialist suppliers. Catering, furniture, décor and production sit on top of the rental, with approved providers required for catering and technical equipment. That gives the venue a familiar team to work with, but less freedom to shop around in some of the largest budget categories. The internal events team supports the property’s operations; you still appoint a professional planner or coordinator.

Our preferred range is around 60–100 wedding guests. It keeps the whole group within La Torre’s 100-person limit for surrounding gatherings while making good use of the included accommodation. Larger weddings need a different welcome-event plan and more space allocated to their covered reception. Smaller weddings of around 30 can make use of the shorter packages, although reducing attendance does not remove the fixed rental and production costs.

The party is the other important tradeoff. Outdoor music quietens at 10 p.m., and the celebration moves into the Limonaia by 10:30 p.m. A garden dinner followed by an indoor party can feel natural here. A late dinner and a lengthy room reset, however, leave less time for dancing.

Choose Lilliano for the combination of Florence access, a distinctive terrace-and-garden setting and a manageable residential stay. It is less well suited to couples seeking all-guests-on-site accommodation, unrestricted supplier choice, a fully catered package or a late outdoor dance floor.

These are total package prices, not nightly rates. Each includes the 16 double suites for the stated number of nights and one event day at the Historical Villa. VAT is included in all 12 prices.

What changing the date or stay length actually saves

Within Sangiovese season, three midweek nights cost €3,775 less than the Friday-to-Monday package. A two-night midweek stay costs €9,835 less, and the one-night Thursday option costs €15,896 less. Those are package comparisons, not discounts on an otherwise identical wedding weekend.

Keeping the three-night weekend but moving from Sangiovese to Canaiolo saves €4,936. Moving to Cabernet saves €11,499. The rest of the wedding does not automatically become cheaper by the same proportion: food, photography, planning and production still need their own budgets.

A Thursday wedding is therefore worth considering when the wedding day matters more than a long residential gathering. Saturday day-only rental is not normally offered; the standard Saturday arrangement is the three-night weekend.

What the package includes

The residential side covers 32 guests in 16 double suites, buffet breakfast and daily cleaning. The suites, villas and common areas have air conditioning, with heating also included in the general package terms. Reception operates from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

For the event, the package includes one day at the Historical Villa, access to the Limonaia as the indoor backup, advice from the internal events team and operational support on the wedding day. Security and housekeeping cover events of up to 149 participants through the departure of the last supplier. Wi-Fi and on-site parking are included.

An included shuttle connects the two accommodation areas at check-in, checkout and designated times during the day. Airport transfers and hotel shuttles are separate, and the estate service is not continuously on call.

What sits outside the venue price?

Wedding catering, drinks, flowers, décor, music, entertainment, lighting and sound are additional. The venue does not supply its own wedding tables and chairs, so furniture and tabletop provision need to be included in the catering or rental proposal. A professional planner or coordinator, photography, videography and external guest transportation are separate as well.

The three-night stay includes one Historical Villa event day. Additional celebrations there are separately priced. La Torre Garden accompanies the accommodation, but hosting a gathering carries an event-service charge as well as the food, drinks and production costs. Whole-estate privacy throughout the stay also needs to be part of the agreement for couples who want it, rather than inferred from the residential package.

Additional venue charges

The tax-inclusive totals below are calculated from the stated net fees using 22% VAT. These are not all compulsory: each applies only when the relevant service, attendance threshold or extension is part of the booking.

For more than 20 arriving cars, a parking attendant is compulsory and separately quoted. Other items to price according to your plans include any marquee or gazebo, extra event days at the Historical Villa, outside-wine corkage, additional residential meals and applicable accommodation taxes.

Extra events at La Torre

La Torre Garden accommodates gatherings of up to 100 guests, making it the natural place for a welcome dinner or farewell brunch. The €854 VAT-inclusive service fee is not a catering charge. Food, drink, furniture and entertainment still need to be arranged. Extra events must be agreed at least one month ahead and finish by 10:30 p.m.

Our weekend budget allows one €854 fee for the welcome evening and another for the farewell gathering, totaling €1,708. Applying the fee separately to both events is a planning assumption to be itemized in the booking.

A wedding of more than 100 guests needs a different plan for a whole-group welcome event. Reserving an additional Historical Villa day or hosting dinner in Florence may make more sense than trying to fit a larger group into La Torre’s smaller setting.

Additional overnight guests

The extra sleeping capacity comes from six sofa beds, charged at €80 per sofa bed per night for either one or two guests, with breakfast included. The supplement’s VAT treatment needs to be specified in the accommodation quote.

Using all six for three nights gives a €1,440 subtotal on the listed-fee basis, before any additional tax. Accommodation for the 32 regular-bed guests is already covered by the package.

Payment schedule

Payments are 30% at confirmation, 40% six months before the event and 30% two months before it. For the €37,752 premium-season weekend package alone, that produces:

Additional services may change the contracted balance. The contract also needs to set out cancellation, postponement and any separate damage-security terms alongside these installments.

Guests can pay for their accommodation directly, but the arrangement is made per villa rather than per room and needs to be established when contracting. This changes who funds the package; it is not an automatic reduction in the package price.

A three-night premium-season weekend

The 2027 model assumes a Friday-to-Monday Sangiovese-season stay for 32 overnight guests, a Saturday wedding, a simple welcome event and farewell gathering at La Torre, and an agreed wedding-night extension to 2 a.m. All three celebrations are for the stated wedding guest count. Entertainment is DJ-led rather than built around a large touring band.

The weather plan uses the indoor spaces without a substantial tent build. A gazebo or marquee would be an additional cost. The model also assumes no more than 20 arriving cars and no more than 149 counted participants, keeping it below the parking-attendant and additional-staffing thresholds. The treatment of suppliers and other attendees in that participant count remains a contract question.

The package and extension use the 2027 venue terms; the La Torre line budgets the service fee once for each of two gatherings. All supplier amounts and the contingency are RoamRecs allowances. The €40,192 line is a subtotal of the three charges above it.

What those allowances buy

The wedding food-and-drink allowance is €220–€350 per guest, intended to cover aperitivo, dinner, dessert or cake, estate wine, a defined bar service and event staff. The welcome-and-farewell allowance is €90–€150 per guest across both events combined, not that amount for each event.

The production line covers hired furniture and technical equipment. Any tables, linens or tableware included by the caterer should replace the corresponding rental allowance, not be added to it. Performers, the DJ and licensing sit in the music line; hired sound and lighting equipment sit in production.

Supplier allowances are intended to include tax. Proposals need to cover travel, setup, assistants, overtime and commissions within the same scope for the comparison to hold.

What is excluded?

The model excludes off-estate guest rooms, flights, attire, rings and honeymoon costs. It also excludes sofa-bed supplements, accommodation taxes where applicable, legal-ceremony fees and paperwork, a marquee or gazebo, fireworks, the optional Frantoio room, any separately rented Historical Villa days and ordinary resident meals beyond breakfast and the named celebrations. A separately quoted parking attendant and the €732 additional-staffing charge are also outside the model if their thresholds are crossed. Any refundable damage security would be a separate cash requirement, not a spent wedding cost.

The local shuttle allowance is for the event itinerary, not an unlimited airport-transfer service. A more elaborate welcome dinner, extended bar, destination photography team or substantial floral installation can take the wedding beyond the range.

Where the meaningful savings are

Moving the same three-night model from Sangiovese to Canaiolo reduces the venue line by €4,936, bringing the calculated 100-person total to €105,106–€159,006 if everything else is unchanged. Cabernet reduces it by €11,499, to €98,543–€152,443. 

Reducing the guest count helps with catering and some production, but the residential package is the same in all three scenarios. At the calculated 100-person total, the budget is roughly €1,100–€1,640 per wedding guest. At 60 guests it is about €1,552–€2,237 per guest. Those figures include a residential stay for part of the group, so they are useful budget comparisons rather than wedding-menu prices.

The clearest way to reduce the total substantially is to change the format: fewer nights, fewer hosted events or a simpler production. Choosing a midweek date helps, but does not remove the need for a caterer, coordinator, furniture and technical suppliers.

The Limonaia and the outdoor settings

The Limonaia is Lilliano’s principal indoor backup, with a stated capacity of up to 150 guests. That is a general room figure, not a confirmed 150-seat dinner layout. The usable seated capacity depends on tables, service areas and whether a dance floor remains in place during dinner.

The gardens offer more space for standing gatherings, but their cocktail capacities are not seated-wedding limits. The indoor evening, rather than the size of the grounds, is the more useful starting point for choosing a guest count.

The terrace, gardens and Granaio each need their own seating arrangement for the event you plan to hold there. Their different shapes suit different uses.

A wedding that changes setting naturally

A particularly coherent arrangement is a terrace ceremony, courtyard drinks, garden dinner and Limonaia dancing. It gives guests time with the view, the historic buildings and the garden without keeping the whole celebration in one place.

The terrace is especially appealing for a ceremony because its elongated shape creates a clear aisle and focal point. For dinner, that same shape favors a long-table arrangement, while the broader garden allows a different approach to the reception.

The Limonaia is the center of the wet-weather plan and the indoor party. The challenge is fitting both into the same evening.

Its rectangular interior, timber beams, climate control and catering access make it an appealing reception room in its own right. Moving inside changes the atmosphere from an open garden dinner to a more enclosed, rustic setting.

When dinner is indoors, the dance floor can either remain within the table layout or be created after dinner. The second option requires a reset and somewhere for guests to gather while tables are cleared. Because music moves into the Limonaia by 10:30 p.m., the meal and speeches need to leave time for that transition.

How the whole day works in wet weather

• Ceremony: The Granaio offers an indoor alternative beside the terrace. Its seated ceremony arrangement still needs to accommodate the full guest list.
• Aperitivo: A separate covered gathering area is needed while dinner is laid. The choice of space depends on the ceremony and dinner layouts.
• Dinner: The Limonaia is the principal backup, with its table arrangement designed around the guest count, service routes and the party afterward.
• Dancing: A retained dance floor or a timed dinner-to-party reset in the Limonaia, ready for the indoor music transition.

The Granaio and Limonaia provide the main indoor starting points, but the complete ceremony-and-aperitivo arrangement is still a guest-specific part of the booking. Routes between spaces also need to work for guests in wet weather and for anyone who needs step-free access.

When additional cover matters

Cover on the Limonaia Terrace is temporary and costs extra. For larger groups, the venue envisages a gazebo in the hall’s outdoor area. This can create more space, but it is not included permanent shelter, and no single guest-count threshold determines when it becomes necessary. The structure and its flooring, enclosure, weather protection, lighting and service arrangement need their own production price.

For 60–100 guests, we would start by testing an indoor plan without a large temporary build, using the Limonaia for dinner and dancing and separate ceremony and drinks arrangements. That is a planning approach, not a guarantee that every layout at this size fits.

For 101–150 guests, keeping dinner tables in place, adding a generous dance floor or accommodating a large stage can make additional covered space more important. Above 150, the decision to book should include a separately approved covered plan and its cost rather than depend on outdoor capacity alone.

The strongest plan is one you would be happy to use: a ceremony with everyone seated, drinks under cover, an indoor dinner you like and a smooth transition into the party.

The estate sleeps 32 in regular beds, or 44 with sofa beds

The overnight package is split between La Corte and La Torre, approximately 400 metres apart. The 32 regular sleeping places are spread across these two areas, with sofa beds providing the additional capacity.

La Corte sits beside the Historical Villa, close to the main wedding spaces, with its own pool and courtyard. Its five suites have private bathrooms. It is the natural starting point for the couple and immediate family who want to be closest to preparations and the wedding setting.

La Torre is the separate residential cluster, with five villas, shared outdoor space and a pool. The villas provide living and kitchen facilities, which suit families and small groups who appreciate their own base between events. It is also where the smaller surrounding celebrations can take place.

Breakfast and daily cleaning are included. The sofa beds are useful for children or guests comfortable sharing a villa’s extra sleeping space; other guests may prefer a private bedroom at a nearby hotel. Allocate rooms around those preferences rather than simply filling all 44 places.

Who stays off the estate?

We would allocate La Corte and La Torre to immediate family, the wedding party and guests who benefit most from staying close. Then concentrate the rest in one or two accommodation hubs. Florence works especially well for guests turning the wedding into a city break; a hotel on the southeastern side of the city can simplify repeated transfers.

Arrival, departure and guest payments

Check-in is 4 p.m. and checkout is 10 a.m. Early arrivals need a separate luggage and preparation plan, as standard luggage storage is not available before rooms are ready. Porter assistance can be arranged separately.

The 10 a.m. checkout matters for the final day. A substantial farewell brunch fits more naturally on Sunday during a Friday-to-Monday stay than on Monday after rooms have been vacated.

Direct guest payments can be arranged per villa at contracting stage. Decide the contribution and allocation before inviting people to book so that guests understand what they are paying for and the couple understands the remaining package balance.

Nearby places to stay

For off-estate guests, the main choice is between a hotel on Florence’s southeastern side and a city-center stay. The driving ranges below are RoamRecs planning allowances; room availability and group rates depend on the wedding dates.

Villa Olmi and Villa La Massa are useful to compare for different budgets and hospitality expectations. Peruzzi is much smaller and is better considered for a family group than for the entire off-site guest list. Its Florence accommodation is separate from the 44-place estate maximum.

Choose hotels and shuttle pickup points together. City-center guests may need to walk to a suitable vehicle stop, so the ease of that journey matters alongside the hotel itself.

Keeping the resident and hotel groups connected

A destination wedding can start to feel like two separate trips when residents have several informal gatherings and hotel guests only arrive for the reception. Lilliano’s proximity to Florence makes that easier to avoid.

Give everyone a clear invitation to the welcome event, wedding and farewell gathering, and provide the transport plan at the same time. Outside those events, leave room for people to explore Florence or relax at their hotel rather than trying to shuttle the whole wedding back and forth all weekend.

Wine tastings and cooking experiences can be arranged through the estate. They are better treated as optional smaller-group activities than added automatically to every guest’s schedule.

Catering and drinks

Catering must come from Lilliano’s approved supplier list. The same requirement applies to lighting and sound equipment, including for other events on the property. Those proposals establish a large part of the budget and the practical scope of the design.

Malenchini estate wines are required for the event, covering prosecco, white, red and rosé. Bringing other wine labels carries a corkage charge. The wine and bar order should be integrated with the catering proposal so that the same bottles or service are not budgeted twice.

Furniture and tabletop items come through the caterer or rental team rather than the venue. A complete catering proposal brings together the menu, staffing, service duration and any included tableware or furniture, leaving a clear list of separate rentals.

For a wedding with significant dietary requirements or a religiously compliant menu, the approved caterer’s ability to provide that service should be part of the initial discussion.

Planner versus venue operations

A professional wedding planner or coordinator is mandatory on the wedding day until the last guest leaves. Couples can organize much of the wedding themselves and hire a professional for day-of coordination, but the role still has to be covered.

The venue’s team looks after the property and its operations. Your planner or coordinator brings together the running order, suppliers, hotel transfers, weather decision and afterparty transition, leaving family and friends free to take part in the celebration.

Choosing a DJ or band

You may choose your own DJ or band, with audio and lighting equipment contracted through the approved technical suppliers.

The choice of performers affects the space as well as the atmosphere. A large stage takes room away from tables and dancing, so the entertainment setup and the Limonaia layout belong in the same conversation.

The standard event lasts eight hours, with 5 p.m. guest arrival and a 1 a.m. finish unless a different schedule is agreed. Additional hours must be arranged ahead of time, not on the wedding day.

An outdoor cake cutting or short musical moment fits best before the sound restrictions tighten. The later part of the celebration belongs in the Limonaia, even with a 2 a.m. finish. When dinner is indoors too, the running order needs to allow for the room changeover described in the rain plan.

Symbolic ceremony

A symbolic ceremony is the most flexible option, particularly for couples who want to complete the legal marriage at home and personalize the celebration in Tuscany. The Medici Terrace and Lower Garden offer very different backdrops: open views on the terrace, or a more enclosed setting around the garden fountain. The Granaio is an indoor alternative to explore for the ceremony layout.

A church wedding requires a separate arrangement with the chosen church, with time for the journey to Lilliano afterward.

Legally binding civil ceremony: an important 2027 condition

Lilliano’s municipal civil-ceremony agreement expires on March 13, 2027. An on-site legal wedding after that date depends on renewed authorization. For a summer or autumn 2027 celebration, this is a condition to resolve before choosing a legally binding ceremony at the villa.

The venue’s ceremony fee is €610 including VAT. The municipality charges separately: its 2026 tariff for Lilliano is €1,000 for nonresidents or €600 for residents. Combining those figures gives a conditional reference of €1,610 or €1,210, before documentation, interpretation and other services. The municipal tariff for 2027 still needs to be established.

For international couples, the paperwork depends on nationality and residence. The municipality requires advance booking, the appropriate marriage-clearance documents and an interpreter where needed. Two foreign nationals who are not resident or domiciled in Italy must attend the required declaration appointment at least three days before the ceremony, so their trip needs to allow for that earlier arrival.

A symbolic ceremony avoids tying the Tuscan celebration to that administrative appointment and the renewal timetable. It does not replace the legal marriage itself.

Preparation space. The Frantoio can be hired from 10 a.m. until the event starts for €549 including VAT. It has a bathroom and preparation facilities and can be useful when rooms are not yet available. It is separate from the Granaio ceremony room.

Fireworks. Displays must be managed by Pirotecnica Soldi. The venue’s mandatory preparation charge is €427 including VAT, in addition to the supplier’s display price and the necessary approval.

Accessibility. The courtyard-to-terrace route includes stairs, and the wedding uses several levels and separate buildings. Guests who need step-free access will need an individual route plan connecting their accommodation, ceremony, toilets, dinner and shuttle loading point.

The estate is approximately 11 kilometres from central Florence, in the hills above Grassina, with access from the Firenze Sud side of the city. That makes Florence a useful guest base while keeping the wedding in the countryside. Journeys between the city and the estate are by road.

• Florence Airport, FLR: approximately 35–50 minutes via road
• Florence Santa Maria Novella station: approximately 25–45 minutes via road
• Central Florence hotels: approximately 25–45 minutes, depending on the pickup point
• Pisa Airport, PSA:  approximately 1 hour 30 minutes via road

Allow additional time for baggage collection, group loading and traffic. The precise hotel pickup point can make a noticeable difference to the journey.

Florence is the simplest arrival point to offer first. Pisa can be useful when it gives guests a more convenient flight, while those arriving by train can make the final journey from Florence by pre-booked car or group transfer.

The wedding-day shuttle plan

For most destination weddings here, we would organize transport from one or two hotel hubs and provide a clear earlier return as well as the final departure. Guests should not have to work out a countryside taxi after the party ends.

Vehicle size needs to suit the estate’s final approach and loading area; full-size coach access is not established. The transport operator and venue should settle the suitable vehicle and pickup arrangements together.

Hotel transfers are separate from the included within-estate shuttle. More than 20 arriving cars also triggers a compulsory parking-attendant charge, which is another reason to compare organized transfers with guests driving separately.

Do guests need a rental car?

Not for the wedding itself when arrivals and event transfers are organized. Guests staying in Florence can spend their free time in the city without driving to the estate independently. Residents planning their own countryside excursions may appreciate a car, but it is a separate convenience rather than a requirement for every guest.

Our first choice would be late May, June or September for a terrace ceremony and garden dinner. These dates fall in the premium Sangiovese band. July and August offer lower package prices, but the heat is an important tradeoff.

Florence Peretola’s 1991–2020 climate normals give useful regional context, rather than a forecast for the hillside estate:

• April: average daytime high 19.9°C; average monthly rainfall 67 mm
• May: average daytime high 24.5°C; average monthly rainfall 66 mm
• June: average daytime high 29.1°C; average monthly rainfall 48 mm
• July: average daytime high 32.2°C; average monthly rainfall 26 mm
• August: average daytime high 32.5°C; average monthly rainfall 40 mm
• September: average daytime high 27.1°C; average monthly rainfall 74 mm
• October: average daytime high 21.6°C; average monthly rainfall 104 mm

Late spring and September

These are the dates we would investigate first for a ceremony on the terrace and dinner in the garden. May and September still need a credible rain plan, while June calls for shade, water and sensible timing as afternoons become hotter. Choosing these months is about the experience rather than securing the lowest venue rate.

July 5 through August 29

This is Lilliano’s interesting summer value window. A three-night weekend costs €32,816, compared with €37,752 in Sangiovese season. The €4,936 saving is meaningful, but guests may be sitting through considerably hotter conditions.

A later ceremony, shaded waiting areas and access to air-conditioned space make this period more comfortable. The exposed terrace needs particular thought in the afternoon, and summer storms remain a reason to keep the indoor plan ready.

April and October

Most of April is Canaiolo season, not the lowest band. Cabernet ends on April 1, and the cheaper autumn rate starts on October 5. For a three-night weekend, that October change reduces the package from €37,752 to €32,816.

October brings cooler evenings and a wetter regional pattern. For a date later in the month, we would choose the indoor dinner plan first and treat an outdoor evening as the favorable-weather version, rather than the other way around.

November through early spring

Cabernet pricing is the lowest, with a three-night weekend at €26,253. This can suit a smaller, indoor-led wedding or a city-and-country celebration, but it buys a different experience from warm evenings in the garden. Heating is included; any temporary structures or additional weather production are not automatically covered.

The most natural three-night arrangement

For the standard Friday-to-Monday package, we would keep the schedule simple:

• Friday: Check in from 4 p.m.; a relaxed welcome meal at La Torre, finishing by 10:30 p.m.
• Saturday: Preparations, ceremony, drinks and garden or indoor dinner; music inside the Limonaia by 10:30 p.m.; finish at 1 a.m. or the contracted 2 a.m.
• Sunday: A farewell gathering at La Torre, with the rest of the day left for the pool, Florence or quiet time
• Monday: Breakfast and checkout by 10 a.m.

The Historical Villa event day is Saturday. The two La Torre gatherings and the selected 2 a.m. finish are additional services included in this guide’s budget model, with one La Torre fee assumed for each gathering.

A welcome dinner in Florence is a reasonable alternative when most guests are already staying in the city or when the full guest list exceeds La Torre’s 100-person gathering limit. It can also preserve the Historical Villa’s garden as the setting guests first see on the wedding day.

Making the one-night Thursday option work

The one-night package is considerably less expensive, but the schedule needs more thought. Rooms are available from 4 p.m., while the standard guest arrival is 5 p.m. That leaves very little time for a couple arriving that day to unpack and get ready.

The Frantoio’s 10 a.m. preparation access can help, or the couple can prepare at a Florence hotel before transferring. Guests coming from overseas should generally arrive in the area before the wedding day rather than building the whole plan around a same-day flight.

A one-night booking also means checkout at 10 a.m. the following morning. It is best understood as a wedding with overnight accommodation for the inner circle, not a compressed version of a leisurely three-day house party.

The most useful first conversation brings together three decisions: what the package covers for your dates, how the full wedding works in wet weather, and where everyone will stay.

Ask for an itemized proposal covering the chosen villas, event days, privacy arrangements and additional charges, alongside a seated indoor plan that carries the celebration through to dancing. For a civil wedding, the date-specific authorization is an additional booking condition. Approved catering and technical proposals will then show whether the wedding you have in mind fits the overall budget.

Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte: for a more elaborate indoor setting

Villa Corsini is a strong Florence-hills comparison when frescoed reception rooms matter as much as outdoor scenery. It offers exclusive-use event spaces with an extensive sequence of decorated halls. Its visual emphasis is more formal and interior-led than Lilliano’s terrace, gardens and timber-beamed Limonaia.

Compare the whole event and guest-stay arrangement rather than the villa façades alone. Lilliano’s clear residential package is part of its value; another venue’s event-only offer may require a quite different accommodation budget.

Villa La Selva: for more guests staying on the estate

Villa La Selva in the Val d’Ambra is worth comparing when the residential group is the priority. It offers an exclusive-use wine-estate stay with accommodation for up to 50 guests, breakfast and housekeeping.

The question is whether you prefer a more self-contained countryside gathering or Lilliano’s closer connection to Florence. For a wedding with many guests who want independent city time, Lilliano’s location is a real advantage. For a group keen to spend the weekend together on a wine estate, La Selva deserves a place on the shortlist.

Villa Cetinale: for a garden-first private-estate wedding

Villa Cetinale, near Siena, is the more natural comparison when the historic gardens are the central reason for choosing Tuscany. It caps weddings at 100 guests and accommodates 48 across four houses, including 25 in the main villa.

Cetinale is a different proposition from a Florence-based wedding. Compare the full residential commitment, indoor plan and guest logistics, not just the number of beds. Lilliano is particularly compelling when guests staying in Florence are a feature of the trip rather than a compromise.
