A good Christmas bar should give you a reason to stay after the photos. That might be a proper dinner under a ceiling full of decorations, a red-drenched cocktail lounge you dress up for, or a heated cabin where your whole group can settle in.
For a Christmas dinner that feels like an occasion, start with Geist. For a glamorous cocktail night, it's Santa Baby at Hidden Bar. Saint Nicky's is the pick for pizza with a mixed-age group, and Fogg Street Lawn Club gives friends something to do besides order another round.

Downtown, Broadway and Nashville Yards
If you're staying downtown, almost everything here is a walk from Broadway. Noelle alone has two very different Christmas bars, a sultry lounge in the basement and an alpine village on the roof. The Grand Hyatt and Union Station at the top of Broadway make it easy to stack an activity and a festive drink, and Fogg Street in SoBro is the best group outing in the city.
Santa Baby at Hidden Bar

2026 dates announced. Noelle's basement speakeasy goes fully red for Christmas, with red trees, mistletoe and lavish cocktails. The most glamorous holiday room in the city, best as one atmospheric stop after dinner. Enter through Lona's Church Street door. Details: Nov 5, 2026 – Jan 2, 2027. 21+. Sun–Thu 5 p.m.–midnight, Fri–Sat 4 p.m.–1 a.m. Reservations by phone through Noelle.
Alpine Village at Rare Bird
200 4th Ave N Top Floor, Nashville, TN 37219, USA
2026 dates announced. Noelle's 13th-floor rooftop trades its usual colors for fur blankets, twinkling lights, warm drinks and seasonal bites, with the skyline all around. The relaxed, open-air counterpart to Santa Baby downstairs. Details: Nov 19, 2026 – Jan 24, 2027. No reservations. Open noon–10 p.m. on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Dress for rooftop weather.
Fogg Street Lawn Club's Bavarian Winter Rooftop
648 Fogg St, Nashville, TN 37203, USA
2026 dates announced. The rooftop lawn-bowling club becomes a Bavarian winter village with heated cabins and synthetic-ice curling. One of the strongest picks for a group celebration. Details: Nov 13 – Dec 31, 2026, 5–9 p.m. Free cabins and curling opening weekend; bookings from Nov 16. Cabins seat up to 10 for two hours, $100 Mon–Thu or $200 Fri–Sun. Curling $30 or $50 per group per hour.
Whiskey Wonderland at JW Marriott

2026 dates announced. The JW Marriott lobby becomes a ticketed holiday bar with festive installations, lights and seasonal whiskey drinks. Treat it as the evening's destination, not a free drop-in. Details: Nov 2, 2026 – Jan 8, 2027. 21+. $25 admission plus fees; drinks extra. Reservations required. Event valet included.
Santa's Backroom at Jelly Roll's Goodnight Nashville

2026 dates announced. Jelly Roll's own green room, Buddy's Backroom, gets a Christmas makeover with lights, lush decor, candy-inspired drinks and photo setups. The festive part of a Broadway night, not a place for quiet conversation. Details: Nov 6, 2026 through January 2027, Wed–Sun. 21+. Walk-in.
Grand Hyatt: Curling Over Broadway and Grand & Gilded

Two separate holiday experiences that pair well: Curling Over Broadway turns the fifth-floor deck into a Christmas village with curling lanes, hot chocolate and mulled wine, and Grand & Gilded dresses the lou/na rooftop lounge in green and gold. Details: Curling Nov 20, 2026 – Jan 2, 2027, all ages, $30 for 45 minutes, $100 cabana for two hours. Grand & Gilded Nov 20 – Dec 30, 2026, 21+, walk-in. Both closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
Life at the Lodge at Alligator Bar

2026 dates announced. Union Station's open-air bar under the Broadway Bridge becomes an alpine lodge for the season. More casual than the hotel lounges nearby. Details: Opens Nov 20, 2026; closing date TBA. All ages, walk-in. Dress for the open air.
Holiday Penthouse at Fairlane

2026 details coming. Fairlane builds a new themed penthouse each December; last year's leaned into retro vinyl and Nashville nostalgia. A good date-night pick once the 2026 theme is out.
The Nash Rooftop

2026 details coming. The hotel formerly known as the Bobby was famous for its Camp Bobby winter igloos. It rebranded in March 2026 and hasn't said whether the igloos return.
Pushing Poinsettias at Pushing Daisies

2026 details coming. The underground margarita bar has previously gone full Mexican-inspired Christmas, with ribbons, ornaments and greenery overhead.
Polar Pub at Pancake Pantry

2026 details coming. The downtown Pancake Pantry (not Hillsboro Village) ran a train-themed pop-up last year with pancakes, savory plates and seasonal drinks. One of the few true family dinners on this list.

Beyond Downtown: Germantown, The Nations, East Nashville and Music Row
These are worth a short ride, and they're where the best Christmas dinners are: Geist for grown-ups, Saint Nicky's for families. Santa's Pub, the city's only year-round Christmas bar, is a quick hop south in Wedgewood-Houston, and East Nashville adds cocktail-first neighborhood bars once they announce.
Miracle and Sippin' Santa: the two national Christmas-cocktail pop-ups usually land in Nashville, but both pick their host bars each year and neither has named 2026's yet. Sippin' Santa ran at Pearl Diver in East Nashville last season. We'll add them once they announce.
Geist

2026 dates announced. The historic brick building fills floor to ceiling with holiday decor, and it frames a genuinely good dinner rather than being the whole evening. First call for a date or visiting family. Details: Begins Nov 4, 2026. All ages. Reservations recommended, especially December weekends.
Saint Nicky's at Nicky's Coal Fired
5026 Centennial Blvd, Nashville, TN 37209, USA
2026 dates announced. There's a real restaurant under the tinsel: coal-fired pizza and housemade pasta make this the easy call for a group with kids. The sixth-year theme, "Now That's What I Call St. Nicky's," is a full 1990s throwback. Details: Opens Nov 24, 2026. All ages; reservations taken. Last year it ended just before Christmas.
Santa's Pub

Year-round bar. A beer-only karaoke dive in a double-wide trailer decorated for Christmas all year. Founder Denzel "Santa" Irwin died in 2025, and his crew has kept it exactly as he ran it. Details: 21+, cash only, beer only. Wed–Sun 4 p.m.–3 a.m., karaoke every open night.
A German(town) Christmas at TailGate Brewery

2026 details coming. Last season borrowed from German Christmas markets with Glühwein, raclette and Lager Projekt beers. An easy brewery night for a casual group.
Holly Jolly at Sonny's Patio Pub Clubhouse

Two Ways to Plan the Night
A dressed-up Christmas date. Make Geist the whole evening: book dinner and leave time to take in the room. For a downtown version, have dinner nearby, then head down to Santa Baby for one long cocktail.
A downtown night without much moving around. Start at Noelle and choose Alpine Village or Santa Baby based on the weather. Then walk to Santa's Backroom for the loud Broadway stop. Two good stops beat a five-bar marathon.
