Seattle's brewery scene rewards a little planning. Ballard has the density, but some of the city's most memorable beer is spread from a Magnolia warehouse to a Hillman City cask pub. Don't try to cross town after every pint.
For one afternoon, go to Ballard and stay there. If the beer is the whole point, build around Cloudburst, Holy Mountain, Fair Isle and Bizarre. If dinner matters, start with Fair Isle, Standard, Here Today, Ghostfish or Perihelion.
Staying downtown? Old Stove, Cloudburst Western and Here Today work on foot.

Ballard Breweries
Ballard is Seattle's easiest brewery day. Seven of these eight sit close enough to walk between, and Cloudburst is a longer walk or short ride west.
Best route: Start with saison at Fair Isle, walk to Stoup and Obec on 52nd, then head to Cloudburst for dumplings. Obec is 21+, so swap in Urban Family or Reuben's with kids. Three or four stops is plenty. Booking for a birthday or work drinks? Several of these taprooms have private rooms, covered in our Seattle bars for large groups guide.

Cloudburst Brewing (Shilshole)
5456 Shilshole Ave NW, Seattle, WA 98107, USA
Our all-around pick. The Shilshole taproom pairs hop-forward beer and sharp lagers with a covered, heated beer garden and the Plenty of Clouds dumpling truck. Kids are welcome here, unlike the 21+ Western Avenue taproom.

Fair Isle Brewing
936 NW 49th St, Seattle, WA 98107, USA
Go here when you've had enough IPA. Mixed-culture saisons and lagers are the draw. The kitchen rotates: La Marea handles mariscos, ceviche and chowder most of the week, and Ox Burger covers Sundays and Mondays. It's all ages.

Stoup Brewing
1108 NW 52nd St, Seattle, WA 98107, USA
Start here when nobody agrees on a style. The list leans hoppy, the covered beer garden has a fire pit and trucks rotate through. Kids are fine downstairs, but the upstairs is 21+. Obec and Urban Family are steps away.

Reuben's Brews
5010 14th Ave NW, Seattle, WA 98107, USA
The safe call for a big mixed group: 28 taps, a full pub menu and a kids' menu, with range for lager drinkers, hop heads and the friend who wants something odd. Don't come for a quiet pint.

Obec Brewing
1144 NW 52nd St, Seattle, WA 98107, USA
The reset after two IPAs. Czech pils, Czech dark lager, English bitter and porter anchor the board, and it's open until midnight on Friday and Saturday. It's 21+, though dogs are welcome.

Urban Family Brewing
1103 NW 52nd St, Seattle, WA 98107, USA
Come here for fruit and tartness. Sours fill much of the board, with IPAs, lagers and non-beer options for everyone else. There's a food truck every day and covered, heated seating. Kids are welcome downstairs, and the bookable loft is 21+.

Lucky Envelope Brewing
907 NW 50th St, Seattle, WA 98107, USA
The best flight in the district, swinging from clean lagers and IPAs to fruit beers and flavors that draw on Asian ingredients. It's all ages, leashed dogs are fine and trucks run on a schedule, so check before counting on dinner.

Dirty Couch Brewing
1110 NW 50th St, Seattle, WA 98107, USA
Dirty Couch took over the old Wheelie Pop space in August 2026, giving the district a serious sour and wild ale specialist. Most of it is barrel-aged. It's all ages, dogs are welcome and you can bring your own food.

Also nearby: Rooftop Brewing's Jolly Roger Taproom has a full kitchen and is all ages. Great Notion, from Portland, and Bale Breaker + Yonder Cider, from Yakima, have Ballard taprooms too.
Downtown, Waterfront and SoDo Breweries
This is the best stretch without a car, and SoDo works well before a game. Old Stove also anchors our Pike Place Market restaurants guide, and Here Today is in our Seattle waterfront restaurants guide.
Downtown route: Start with the view at Old Stove, walk to Cloudburst's 21+ Western Avenue taproom, then finish with dinner at Here Today. Cloudburst Western is closed Monday and Tuesday.
SoDo route: Start at Fast Fashion near the stadiums, then head south to Seapine and finish at Ghostfish. Seapine and Ghostfish are close together.

Old Stove Brewing (Pike Place)
1901 Western Ave, Seattle, WA 98101, USA
Old Stove has the view, and the beer holds up: 24 taps brewed on site, a full menu and an 80-foot window facing Elliott Bay and the Olympics. It's the easiest pick for first-timers and families. Cloudburst's Western Avenue taproom is a few minutes' walk north.

Here Today Brewery & Kitchen
2815 Elliott Ave Ste 101, Seattle, WA 98121, USA
A waterfront brewpub with a real menu. Rice lager, pilsner and hoppy pale ales go with tavern food, weekend brunch and water views. Under-21s are welcome until 8 p.m. It's open until 10 nightly, but only from 4 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday.

Fast Fashion Brewing (SoDo)
1723 1st Ave S, Seattle, WA 98134, USA
The stop for big hop aroma, a couple of blocks south of T-Mobile Park. Hazy and double IPA are the calling card, with pilsner, pale ale and darker beers on the board. The industrial taproom has event nights and room for pregame groups.

Ghostfish Brewing
2942 1st Ave S, Seattle, WA 98134, USA
The easy call for gluten-free drinkers, and worth a stop for anyone else. Every beer and dish comes from a dedicated gluten-free operation, including IPA, stout and seasonals. Add Sunday brunch, a covered beer garden and reservations for larger parties.

Seapine Brewing
2959 Utah Ave S, Seattle, WA 98134, USA
An unfussy brewery with a dependable board of IPA, lager, pale ale and dark beer. There's no kitchen, but outside food is welcome, and it takes phone reservations for about 15 to 40 people. It's family-friendly and handy around a game.
Also nearby: Gasworks has a new SoDo taproom with pizza, plus its original Lake Union spot.
North Seattle Breweries
These are neighborhood breweries, so pick one or two instead of linking them all. Take short rides between Magnolia, Interbay and Fremont, and use light rail for Human People and Ladd & Lass. Ladd & Lass is also a short walk from campus, so it pairs with our University of Washington guide.

Fremont Brewing Urban Beer Garden
1050 N 34th St, Seattle, WA 98103, USA
The classic Seattle beer-garden afternoon. Covered, heated picnic tables, long hours and a deep mix of familiar and taproom-only beer make it easy for a big crew, kids and dogs included. There's a burger truck Wednesday through Sunday, plus sandwiches.

Figurehead Brewing (Stone Way)
3513 Stone Way N, Seattle, WA 98103, USA
The move when half the group wants beer and the other half wants dinner. Midnite Ramen runs Wednesday through Sunday, Ooshiba does yakitori and sushi Friday through Tuesday, and weekends bring sourdough waffles. It's kid-friendly, with an interior courtyard.

Bizarre Brewing
4441 26th Ave W Ste A, Seattle, WA 98199, USA
The best case in town for drinking a little less. Side-pull lagers, hand-pulled English-style ales and oak-aged mixed-culture beers mostly sit at friendlier strengths. The taproom is all ages, with a small beer garden and a 21+ upstairs deck. Bring food.

Holy Mountain Brewing (Interbay)
1421 Elliott Ave W, Seattle, WA 98119, USA
The pilgrimage. Pale ales, lagers, farmhouse beers and mixed-fermentation releases get all the attention in this bright, pared-back 21+ taproom. Order Dantini's pizza from next door with the QR code on the menu. Bringing kids? The Phinney taproom is all ages.

Human People Beer Cafe
6105a Roosevelt Way NE, Seattle, WA 98115, USA
A neighborhood cafe that happens to brew. Crisp lagers, pilsners and thoughtful hoppy beers come with coffee and a menu that changes often. It opens at 9 a.m. on weekends, three short blocks from Roosevelt station. Good for a quiet flight or an early date.

Project 9 Brewing
1409 NE 80th St, Seattle, WA 98115, USA
Project 9 can carry a whole afternoon. The beer runs from clean lager to IPA, sours and seasonals, and Mexican Seoul serves Korean-Mexican food daily from its truck. A covered, heated patio and an arcade loft keep families and sports groups happy.

Ravenna Brewing
5408 26th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98105, USA
Order a flight here. A typical board moves from rice lager and Czech pale lager to hazy and West Coast IPA, dark mild and stout, and it all feels focused. Trucks rotate, so check the calendar first. Kids and dogs are welcome.

Ladd & Lass Brewing
722 NE 45th St, Seattle, WA 98105, USA
A strong U District detour for hop-driven beer, with fresh-hop releases in season, West Coast IPA, hazy beer and pilsner. Supervised kids and leashed dogs are fine, you can bring food and it's a short walk from light rail.

Halcyon Brewing
8564 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103, USA
Halcyon keeps the beer easy and puts real effort into the food. IPA, lager and classic styles go with an izakaya-style menu of dumplings, popcorn chicken, furikake fries and smash burgers. The patio welcomes families and dogs.

Hellbent Brewing
13035 Lake City Way NE, Seattle, WA 98125, USA
The late-hours pick in Lake City. Twenty taps, an upstairs and food trucks on most days give it more bar energy than the average Seattle brewery, and it stays open until midnight on Friday and Saturday. It's 21+ and dog-friendly.
Also nearby: Flying Bike is a member-owned brewery close to Halcyon, and Burke-Gilman is a beer-first stop on NE 45th St in Laurelhurst.
Central and South Seattle Breweries
These work better as single-neighborhood outings. Georgetown adds depth, Beacon Hill is easy on light rail, and West Seattle is its own trip.

Standard Brewing
2504 S Jackson St, Seattle, WA 98144, USA
A very good neighborhood bar that happens to brew its own beer. Balanced lagers, IPA and stout sit next to cocktails and a kitchen that runs until 10:30 p.m., and the bar stays open until midnight nightly. It's strictly 21+, with no dogs or outside food.

Métier Brewing (Cherry Street)
2616 E Cherry St, Seattle, WA 98122, USA
Métier's flagship belongs to the Central District. The board moves through kölsch, Italian pilsner, IPA, porter and occasional cask releases, and Lil' Brown Girl, from the team behind Communion, runs the food. It's kid-friendly, closed Mondays and takes reservations for groups of up to 12.

Georgetown Brewing
5200 Denver Ave S, Seattle, WA 98108, USA
One of the city's foundational breweries, and the tasting room goes deeper than the Manny's you see around town. It's open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. There's no kitchen, but kids, dogs and outside food are all welcome.

Jellyfish Brewing (Georgetown)
917 S Nebraska St, Seattle, WA 98108, USA
Jellyfish gives groups room to spread out. The beer garden is all ages and dog-friendly, outside food is welcome and light snacks and non-beer options cover the basics. The Green Lake taproom has a kitchen, but Georgetown is the brewery.

Machine House Brewery
5718 Rainier Ave S, Seattle, WA 98118, USA
Seattle's clearest break from the usual Pacific Northwest brewery. English ales are pulled by hand and served at cellar temperature in a relaxed Hillman City pub. Kids and dogs are welcome, and you can bring food. Start with a bitter and slow down.

Perihelion Brewery
2800 16th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144, USA
A true brewpub a block from Beacon Hill station. The kitchen smokes its own meats, pickles in house and builds substantial sandwiches to go with a varied beer list. It's all ages and doesn't take reservations, so go early for dinner.

The Good Society (West Seattle)
2701 California Ave SW Unit a, Seattle, WA 98116, USA
A welcoming West Seattle public house with enough polish for a planned night out. It's all ages, there's a beer and food menu, and reservations for 8 to 30 people make it an easy pick for birthdays or work drinks. Skip the outside food.
Also nearby: Outer Planet pours small-batch, European-leaning beer on Capitol Hill. Future Primitive sits just past the city line in White Center, with a beach bar at Alki.
