Seattle doesn't have one coffee style. A single morning can take you from a caramel-heavy ristretto on Broadway to a salted-cream phin coffee in Little Saigon, then a washed Ethiopian pour-over in Fremont.
This guide is sorted by neighborhood, so start with the part of town you're in. The table below covers every shop, and the map shows where each one sits.

Downtown, Belltown and Uptown Coffee Shops
Skip the line at Pike Place. Central Seattle has a historic window, big roaster cafes, all-day spots and one of the city's most interesting tiny bars. If you're eating near the market too, see our best Pike Place restaurants guide.

Monorail Espresso
510 Pike St, Seattle, WA 98101, USA
Chuck and Susie Beek started this as an espresso cart under the monorail track in 1980, and it now works from a window on Pike Street. Read the mock directions menu while you wait: "Pike Place?" is $1, "Pike's Place" costs double for the misspelling, and "Where is Starbucks?" is priceless. Details: 510 Pike St. No indoor seating at this window.

Olympia Coffee
1420 5th Ave Ste 103, Seattle, WA 98101, USA
A full coffee bar in the Cedar Hall atrium, with fresh bakes and whole beans to go. It's a safe call near the hotels and convention center, especially for a cortado and a quick pastry. Details: 1420 5th Ave, Suite 103. Mon to Fri 6am to 6pm, weekends 7am to 6pm.

Anchorhead Coffee
1600 7th Ave Ste 105, Seattle, WA 98101, USA

Fulcrum Cafe
590 Bell St, Seattle, WA 98121, USA
Fulcrum roasts in SoDo and runs this lively Belltown cafe, and it also roasts the Asia-Pacific coffees for Hood Famous. Choose a rotating single-origin drip if you're a purist, or the black sesame latte if you're not. Details: 590 Bell St. Weekdays 7am to 6pm, weekends 8am to 6pm.

Slow Day Coffee
2103 3rd Ave, Seattle, WA 98121, USA
A walk-up bar with firm rules: no drip, no large sizes, no mocha, no cream and sugar. What you get is rotating coffee from serious roasters, with brewing details on the card. Choose the regular pour-over or the $4 fast pour-over if you don't want to splurge. Details: 2103 3rd Ave, at 3rd and Lenora. Daily 7am to 2pm.

Bonhomie Coffee Bar
2800 1st Ave, Seattle, WA 98121, USA

Caffe Vita at KEXP

Cards only.

Analog Coffee
235 Summit Ave E, Seattle, WA 98102, USA
