These are the Seattle restaurants that actually decorate for Christmas. Think a giant nutcracker at the door in Sunset Hill, seven-foot painted ones marching through a dining room on Alki, and a rooftop bar that's turned into a vintage toy shop 16 floors up.
Every pick here changes the room in December, from neighborhood spots to grand hotels, teas and a couple of places worth the drive. If you just need a table on the holiday itself, each card says whether a Christmas meal is posted. Details were last checked in November 2026. If drinks are the point, our Seattle Christmas bars and holiday pop-ups guide covers the pop-ups and takeovers.

Neighborhood Restaurants That Decorate for Christmas
These are the neighborhood dining rooms where the decorations are the reason to go. Salty's also serves one of the city's biggest Thanksgiving buffets and sits in our Seattle waterfront restaurants guide.

Ristorante Picolinos
6415 32nd Ave NW, Seattle, WA 98107, USA
A giant nutcracker meets you at the door, and inside it's trees, garlands, twinkle lights, Santas and old-school ornaments everywhere you look. It feels collected over years, not ordered for the season. The fresh pasta, wood-fired pizza and kids' menu make it an easy table for three generations, and gelato or a cannoli is the right way to finish. Details: Sunset Hill. Book ahead for December dinners, and call first if you're going before December.

La Palmera Christmas Cantina
901 Mercer St, Seattle, WA 98109, USA
Subtle garland isn't the idea here. Every December, the South Lake Union dining room fills with multicolored lights, ornaments, themed tablecloths and Christmas mugs, floor to ceiling. It's loud, bright and fun with a group, and the full Mexican menu means you can make a real dinner of it. Kids get a peppermint hot cocoa and their own meal, while adults go for the holiday cocktails. Details: Book the South Lake Union location on Resy. The bar is 21+, so bring kids to the dining room. Private rooms are available for parties. The Edmonds, Mill Creek and Everett locations do the Cantina too.

Salty's on Alki
1936 Harbor Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98126, USA
Seven-foot nutcrackers painted by local artists march into the dining room each year, and the heated patio tents get strung with twinkle lights facing the downtown skyline. The big room and long menu work when grandparents and kids need different things from the same meal. Sunday's all-you-can-eat seafood brunch is the classic way to do it. Details: Sunday brunch runs 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m. Christmas menus are still to come. The Water Taxi makes a nice daytime add-on, but it doesn't run on Christmas Day.

Dreamland Bar & Diner
3401 Evanston Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103, USA
Dreamland goes louder and sillier than anywhere else here, with festive decor and a holiday drink list that comes with or without the booze. It's still a real diner, so steak frites, curry or the Kalua pork plate can carry the night. Go with friends, not with a formal family dinner in mind. Details: Fremont. Drag brunch is ticketed and 18+, every Saturday and some Sundays. The whole place goes 21+ after 9 p.m.

Hotel Christmases and Holiday Teas in Seattle
These are the rooms to book when you want the full, old-fashioned version of the season.

The George at Fairmont Olympic
411 University St, Seattle, WA 98101, USA
The Fairmont Olympic is Seattle's grand hotel Christmas. Through December 1, the lobby turns into a forest of designer trees for the Seattle Festival of Trees. Upstairs, the Teddy Bear Suite packs in nearly 100 bears, candy canes and a towering tree through December 25. The George's Christmas dinner comes in two versions on December 24 and 25. The earlier one is family-style, and the candlelit evening seating has a pianist. Gingerbread Afternoon Tea runs through December, and Nutcracker Tea en Pointe adds live ballet in the Garden Room. Details: Christmas dinner is $95 from 1–3:30 p.m. or $110 from 4:30–9 p.m., plus 20% gratuity, with vegetarian, vegan and kids' menus. Gingerbread Tea runs December 1–30, except the 24th and 25th, 12:30–3:30 p.m. Nutcracker Tea is November 29 and December 6, 2–4 p.m., $170 plus 20%. The Teddy Bear Suite is free to visit, 11 a.m.–6 p.m. on the second floor.

Shuckers at Fairmont Olympic
411 University St, Seattle, WA 98101, USA
Shuckers dresses up a room that already has plenty of character, with holiday decor set against carved oak and a pressed-tin ceiling in a former 1930s haberdashery. It's the smaller, more old-Seattle counterpart to The George, and the hotel's Christmas displays are just outside the door. The Christmas menu is three courses of chowder, seared salmon, citrus-brined turkey, prime rib or brown-butter squash gnocchi, with a chocolate-caramel Yule log to finish. Details: December 24, 3–8:30 p.m. December 25, 12:30–2:30 p.m. and 4:30–9 p.m. $99 plus 20% gratuity, with vegetarian, vegan and kids' options. Book the Christmas experience, not a regular table.

Holiday Tea at The Sorrento
900 Madison St, Seattle, WA 98104, USA
Twinkling lights, a decorated tree and the Sorrento's vintage rooms make this the coziest tea on the list. Tiered trays of finger sandwiches and sweets come with seasonal blends, and it feels intimate where the Fairmont feels grand. Go on December 19 or 20 for the all-ages ugly sweater contest, or earlier for a quieter afternoon. Details: Saturdays and Sundays, November 7–December 20, 2:30–4:30 p.m. $60 plus 20% gratuity. Tickets only, with refunds up to seven days out.

Queen Mary Tea Room
2912 NE 55th St, Seattle, WA 98105, USA
The halls get decked at Queen Mary, and they stay that way through January, which makes this the rare Christmas outing that still works after the rush. It's a true tea room, with bone china, tiered trays and a long tea list, not a hotel borrowing the format for a month. Afternoon tea is served all day alongside brunch and lunch. Details: Open Wednesday–Sunday. Reservations are for full meals, and online booking tops out at five. There are no highchairs or booster seats, and you'll need one adult for every two to three kids 10 and under. Gluten-free options are available, but the kitchen isn't dedicated gluten-free.
Christmas Pop-Ups and Shows in Seattle
These aren't full-dinner restaurants, but they're some of the most festive rooms in the city this year. Plan on a separate dinner at the first and last of them. The Toy Room's Sunday storytime and the Salish Lodge Santa brunch below are both in our where to see Santa in Seattle guide, and Can Can sits in the middle of our Pike Place Market restaurants guide.

The Toy Room at Fog Room
1610 2nd Ave, Seattle, WA 98101, USA
Fog Room has turned into a vintage toy shop 16 floors above downtown. Train sets circle the bar, teddy bears drift overhead in hot air balloons, and shelves of old toys, giant blocks and a rocking horse sit against one of the best views in Seattle. Food is a short list: holiday short rib poutine and cranberry-brie baked naan. It's a great date or a stop before dinner. Details: November 15–January 3, daily 4 p.m.–midnight. Free to enter. Walk-ins are welcome, and OpenTable takes parties of up to six. All ages, but the bar area is 21+. Cashless. Storytime with Santa is ticketed on Sundays, November 29–December 20. Tinsel Tuesdays run November 17–December 29, and Holiday Drag Brunch starts November 21 on Saturdays, with tickets from $15.

Can Can's Wonderland
95 Pine St, Seattle, WA 98101, USA
Can Can's holiday show puts the Christmas on stage: a two-hour, three-act cabaret of vintage glamour, comedy and choreography at Pike Place Market. The kitchen makes it a full night, with winter menus built around the market. Skip dinner elsewhere and get the three-course package. Details: December 2–January 3. Three-course package +$59, or Sip and Savor +$25 for a drink and an appetizer. Evening shows are 21+, and all-ages matinees are coming soon. Check in 45 minutes before the show.

Little Festive Lobby Bar at The Edgewater
2411 Alaskan Wy Pier 67, Seattle, WA 98121, USA
The Edgewater's lobby gets floor-to-ceiling holiday decor and a new theme every December, right by the fireplace with Elliott Bay outside. The Santa's Sips cocktail list and lounge bites make it a good stop on its own. For a full meal, book Six Seven first and add the bar after. Details: Runs in December. Reservation details and the menu are still to come, and a Six Seven table doesn't hold a seat at the pop-up.
Festive Restaurants Worth the Drive From Seattle
Both of these work best as a full day out.

The Restaurant at Salish Lodge
6501 Railroad Ave #101, Snoqualmie, WA 98065, USA
Lodge trees and fireplaces do the decorating here, with Snoqualmie Falls right outside the window. Santa visits The Restaurant during Sunday brunch, which makes it the best family outing on the list. The annual tree lighting on November 29 adds cocoa, children's activities, reindeer and another visit from Santa. Details: Santa brunch is on Sundays, November 29–December 20, 10 a.m.–noon. The tree lighting is 4–7 p.m. Book brunch on OpenTable or by phone, separately from the tree lighting.

Barking Frog at Willows Lodge
14580 NE 145th St, Woodinville, WA 98072, USA
Willows Lodge goes for warm over flashy, with greenery, ornaments, twinkling lights and a lit fireplace in the dining room. It's the grown-up pick here, good for a date or dinner with parents in the middle of Woodinville wine country. The Fireside Lounge gives you somewhere to keep the night going. Details: December 24 and 25, brunch runs 7 a.m.–2 p.m. and dinner 4–9 p.m., with holiday specials. Prices aren't out yet, but you can book on OpenTable now.
