Most Atlantans buy a Christmas tree one of two ways: a Fraser fir from a neighborhood lot, or a cypress or pine they cut themselves at a farm. Fraser firs don't grow around Atlanta, so if your heart's set on one, you'll be buying it pre-cut, even at a farm.

This guide covers the best lots, garden centers and tree farms near Atlanta, plus who delivers. Thompson's opens first, on November 16, and most lots and farms follow by November 21. Where a seller hasn't posted 2026 dates yet, the table says so.

Christmas Tree Delivery in Atlanta

Trees for Tuition is our pick for delivery, since it's built into the online price. Just check what "delivered" means, because a tree on your doorstep and a tree standing straight in your living room are different services.

SellerWhat you getDelivery cost
Trees for TuitionTree set in your stand on the doorstep. Indoor installation is extra.Included online. $25 for a tree bought at a lot, or $35 with installation.
Big John'sDrop-off or full installation, within 20 miles of Buckhead$65 drop-off or $85 installed, under 9 feet. $90 or $110 for 9–11 feet.
Tradition TreesDelivery, installation, lighting and removal, 7 days a weekRate at checkout, within 12 miles of a lot. Same-day is $75 extra.
Pike NurseriesFront door only, and it can take up to 7 daysFrom $75 for trees up to 6–7 feet, rising to $150

Removal is worth booking early. Big John's charges $75 for a tree that's still inside and $50 for curbside pickup, from December 26 to January 11, and takes cash, Venmo or CashApp. Trees for Tuition and Tradition Trees offer pickup too.

Before You Buy

These are posted prices for a tree around 7 feet. Fraser firs cost more than field trees, and a stand, delivery and tax all come on top.

OptionTreePrice
Berry's7-foot cypress you cut$63
Bottoms7-foot field tree$70
Pike6–7 foot Fraser$79.99
Sleepy Hollow7-foot tree you cut$84 and up
Sleepy Hollow7-foot pre-cut Fraser$112 and up
Pike7–8 foot Fraser$119.99

Match the tree to the date. Fraser firs are known for holding their needles, so they're the safer pick for an early tree. Carolina Sapphire is the one to watch: Minter's holds its Sapphires until about December 10, and Sleepy Hollow says not to cut one before Thanksgiving. Ask the farm how long your variety lasts.

Measure first. Leave room for the stand and topper, measure the width of the spot, and check the path through the door and up any stairs. Trees look smaller in a field, so believe the height on the tag.

Keep it in water. Put the tree in water as soon as you're home and check the level every day. Plain water is all it needs. Keep it at least three feet from heat sources, and take it down once it dries out.

Once the tree's up, our Atlanta Christmas bars and holiday pop-ups guide has the rest of your December covered. For what goes under it, start with our Atlanta holiday shopping guide.
