Seeing Santa in Atlanta can mean a booked portrait in a Buckhead mall, a free phone picture at The Battery, or a whole morning at the Zoo. The right one depends on what your family wants: a keepsake photo, a low-cost visit, or a day out with Santa as one part of it.

Rhodes Hall is our pick for the classic Atlanta portrait, and Phipps Plaza is the long-running tradition if you can still get an appointment. For free photos, start with The Battery, Bass Pro Shops or The Works. Botanical Santa, Zoo Atlanta and Georgia Aquarium make the most sense when you want the outing to matter as much as the picture.

This guide covers the city and the wider metro, including sensory-friendly sessions, pet nights and Black Santa visits. All dates are for 2026 unless we say otherwise. Most seasons have closed days, so pick your exact date on the venue's calendar. We'll keep updating this guide as more venues share their plans.

Santa in Atlanta

The city has the big portrait traditions, the best free stop on the Upper Westside, and the outings at the Zoo, Aquarium and Botanical Garden. Staying for dinner after? Our Christmas bars guide has the festive drinks nearby, our Atlanta Christmas lights guide covers Garden Lights, Stone Mountain and the free town squares, and our festive Christmas restaurants guide has the Buckhead hotel Santa teas. Greenbriar Mall in southwest Atlanta has one of the city's longest-running Santa traditions.

Santa at Phipps Plaza

Santa at Phipps Plaza

3500 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30326, USA

Phipps has been the annual portrait tradition for 48 years, and families here build a collection of photos and videos over the years. It's also the hardest Santa in town to get. You preregister, then wait for an emailed invitation to book, and what's left for 2026 is mostly November weekday middays. If you haven't preregistered, treat this as a plan for next July. Book on a computer rather than a phone, and make sure a confirmation email arrives. Details: Oct 31–Dec 23, closed Thanksgiving and on selected weekdays. Appointment only, with paid photo and video packages. In the Court of the South, across from Tiffany's. No pets.

Santa at Rhodes Hall

Santa at Rhodes Hall

1516 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309, USA

The castle on Peachtree is our pick for the classic Atlanta portrait. You get a proper holiday setting and a booked appointment, without giving up the whole day. It sells out every year, so book early. Details: Nov 21–22 and Dec 5–6 and 11–13; hours vary. $60 per family includes a 5x7 print; your own camera or phone is $20 more, and digital images cost extra. Four children per appointment. Reservation only. Free parking at 1495 Spring Street.

Santa at Lenox Square

Santa at Lenox Square

3393 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30326, USA

Lenox is the practical Buckhead choice: book a slot, get the photo and fit it around your shopping. It's also one of the easiest places to find a sensory-friendly or pet session. Details: Nov 14–Dec 24, with a reduced schedule early on. Paid packages. Caring Santa is Dec 6 and pet photos are Nov 22 and Dec 13, each with its own reservation. Park on Level 2 of the Red Deck.

Santa's House at Atlantic Station

Santa's House at Atlantic Station

1380 Atlantic Dr NW, Atlanta, GA 30363, USA

Atlantic Station works as an all-rounder: a Santa photo, then dinner or a walk around the district. Santa's House is next to H&M. Santa's arrival parade and tree lighting on Nov 21 is a separate event and a fun way to start the season. Details: Nov 22–Dec 24. Paid photo packages. Calm & Bright sensory sessions are Dec 6 and 13, 10–11:30 a.m. Furry & Bright pet sessions are Dec 1 and 15, 5–7 p.m.

Snaps with Santa at The Works

Snaps with Santa at The Works

1295 Chattahoochee Ave NW, Atlanta, GA 30318, USA

The Works is our first stop for a Black Santa. Santa D, The Real Black Santa, is here for two Saturdays, and Santa Carl takes the Nov 21 session at the Maker's Building. Photos are free with no package to buy, and you leave with a printed and a digital picture. Details: Santa Carl Nov 21; Santa D Nov 28 and Dec 12; all 10 a.m.–2 p.m. First come, first served. Donations to Agape Youth & Family Center are encouraged.

Botanical Santa at Atlanta Botanical Garden

Botanical Santa at Atlanta Botanical Garden

1345 Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30309, USA

This Santa wears green, which makes a nice change from the usual red suit. It suits a relaxed Saturday in the Garden, where the photo happens along the way, and it's a good use of a membership. It's a daytime program, so a Garden Lights ticket doesn't cover it. Details: Saturdays Nov 28 and Dec 5, 12 and 19, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Free with Garden admission or membership. Bring your own camera.

Cookies with Santa at Zoo Atlanta

Cookies with Santa at Zoo Atlanta

800 Cherokee Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30315, USA

The Zoo turns a quick photo into a proper outing, with cookies, juice, crafts, an elf scavenger hunt and a professional family photo to download for free. Sleigh Bells & Safari adds daytime Zoo admission, and Snow & Glow adds the evening IllumiNights lantern festival, so choose around your kids' bedtime. Some member sessions have already sold out. Details: Dec 5–6. $35, or $25 for members, ages 3 and up. Kids 2 and under are free, but everyone needs a ticket, even if they're not in the photo.

Wake Up with Santa at Georgia Aquarium

Wake Up with Santa at Georgia Aquarium

225 Baker St NW, Atlanta, GA 30313, USA

This one makes the most sense if you already want an Aquarium day. One ticket covers a grab-and-go breakfast, a professional Santa photo, all-day admission and validated parking. Everyday Aquarium tickets don't include this Santa. Details: Dec 5, 13 and 20, 8–11 a.m., last entry 10 a.m. Enter through the Oceans Ballroom. Kids 2 and under don't need a ticket. No refunds.

Winter Fest at Atlanta History Center

Winter Fest at Atlanta History Center

130 W Paces Ferry Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30305, USA

Winter Fest gives train-loving kids a great backdrop: afternoon Santa photos are taken at the Texas locomotive. It's more than a quick portrait, without the scale of a theme park night. Details: Dec 5, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Included with admission and free for members. Add the Santa session at checkout; one booking covers up to six.

Afternoon Tea with Santa at The St. Regis Atlanta

Afternoon Tea with Santa at The St. Regis Atlanta

88 W Paces Ferry Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30305, USA

This is the dress-up splurge: a 90-minute holiday tea at Astor Court with sweets, savory bites, live music and a visit from Santa. Book it for the occasion, not for a quick photo. Ask about photography when you reserve. Details: Bookable Nov 27–Dec 24. $110 ages 11 and up, $95 children, plus tax and charges. Prepaid and nonrefundable. Validated valet is $20.

Santa at InterContinental Buckhead

Santa at InterContinental Buckhead

3315 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30326, USA

The hotel has two formats. Storytime keeps the focus on the kids, with festive treats and a gift, while the brunch suits a family that wants a proper meal. Santa's photo hours at the brunch start an hour after the food, so plan around 11 a.m. Details: Storytime Nov 28 and Dec 19, in roughly 40-minute slots. Santa Brunch Dec 20 from 10 a.m., with Santa 11 a.m.–2 p.m. and free self-parking.

Winter House at Callanwolde

Winter House at Callanwolde

980 Briarcliff Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30306, USA

Callanwolde's Tudor mansion hosts one of the calmer Santa visits in town. Last season each family got a 10-minute private session, with staff taking pictures on your own phone. Its Sensory Santa sessions had softer light, quieter music and no crowds. 2026 Winter House dates are still to come. Details: $35 per family in 2025. Pet photos were available by arrangement last year.

Greenbriar Mall

Greenbriar Mall

2841 Greenbriar Pkwy SW, Atlanta, GA 30331, USA

Greenbriar has had a Black Santa since 1994, and families come from well beyond southwest Atlanta for the tradition. Santa Brown took over in 2025, with visits several days a week. 2026 dates are still to come. Details: Last season visits were free and photo packages started at $37 online.

Santa's Post Office at The Battery

Santa's Post Office at The Battery

800 Battery Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30339, USA

The Battery is one of our easiest recommendations if you don't want a photo package. Bring the wish list and handwritten letters, take your own pictures, and make it part of a longer afternoon. There's no reservation; you join a text waitlist when you arrive, and contactless visits are available. Details: Fridays through Sundays from Nov 21, plus daily Dec 21–24. Noon–6 p.m., then noon–8 p.m. from Dec 11; noon–6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. At the Community Corner, Power Alley and Battery Avenue. Free Santa Paws nights are Dec 3, 10 and 17, 4–8 p.m.

Marietta Winter Wonderland

Marietta Winter Wonderland

1 Depot St, Marietta, GA 30060, USA

This is the choice for a Santa visit that feels tied to a town rather than a mall. Santa arrives for the tree lighting on Marietta Square on Dec 3, then settles into his workshop at the History Center. Book a quick photo visit, or the 25-minute Magical Moments session with storytime, crafts, and milk and cookies. Details: From Dec 4. Appointment only, no walk-ups; one appointment covers a family group of up to 10. Pet night is Dec 13, 5–8 p.m. A Sensory Santa format has been announced, with dates to come.

A Day with Santa in Kennesaw

A Day with Santa in Kennesaw

2828 Cherokee St NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144, USA

Kennesaw gives families three good low-cost options in one day: an all-you-care-to-eat breakfast with Santa going table to table, free walk-up photos, and short reserved sessions. Stay for the 6 p.m. Illuminate Holly Days Parade, the city's first nighttime light-up parade. The breakfast and photos are at different addresses. Details: Dec 5. Breakfast 8:30–9:30 or 10–11 a.m., $10 per person in advance; kids 2 and under free on a lap. Free walk-up line 12:30–2:30 p.m., with no guarantee. The Avenue East Cobb

The Avenue East Cobb

4475 Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA 30062, USA

Christmas in Acworth

Christmas in Acworth

4415 Center St, Acworth, GA 30101, USA

Santa in North Fulton, Gwinnett and Beyond

No need to drive into Buckhead from up here. Avalon has the most ways to see Santa in one place, Bass Pro has the best free keepsake, and Stone Mountain is the biggest production in the metro. Head south and Southern Belle Farm is a farm visit worth the drive.

Santa at Avalon

Santa at Avalon

2200 Avalon Blvd, Alpharetta, GA 30009, USA

Avalon works well when you want a proper photo and an easy place to spend the afternoon. Santa's cottage in Palmer Plaza has clear packages, Monday Story Time is a separate visit without formal portraits, and the two breakfasts let you choose the tone: casual at Chick-fil-A or a bigger occasion at Oak Steakhouse. Each is its own booking, and the breakfast doesn't include cottage photos. Details: Cottage Nov 23–Dec 24, closed Thanksgiving, with daily breaks; Christmas Eve is walk-up only, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. $40 for five digital photos, $45 with prints or cards, $50 for the bundle. It's a splurge for the memory, not an economical way to get a photo, and it means booking a staycation. Details: Nov 20–Dec 23, from 7 p.m. $110 for the first child and $35 for each additional child, up to six. Room not included. Book more than 24 hours ahead.

Santa at The Forum

Santa's cottage sits in the North Plaza in front of Politan Row, so it's easy to pair the photo with lunch or an early dinner. Details: Nov 23–Dec 24, mainly Wednesdays through Sundays, closed Thanksgiving. Paid packages; reserve to guarantee a slot. Christmas Eve 10 a.m.–5 p.m., with a 1–2 p.m. break. 5900 Sugarloaf Pkwy Ste 129, Lawrenceville, GA 30043, USA

Santa's arrival on Nov 7 kicks things off. Details: Photos Nov 8–Dec 24. Free reservations open seven days ahead, and walk-ins depend on availability. Extra prints and digital photos cost more. Free Christmas Tales story times are Tuesdays at 5 p.m., Nov 10–Dec 22, and a free Merry Morning Breakfast is Dec 5 at 9 a.m., up to four per family. Each needs its own reservation; breakfast booking opens Nov 28.

Georgia Festival of Trees

Georgia Festival of Trees

6400 Sugarloaf Pkwy, Duluth, GA 30097, USA

Santa's Arrival at Southeastern Railway Museum

Santa's Arrival at Southeastern Railway Museum

3595 Buford Hwy, Duluth, GA 30096, USA

For a child who loves trains, Santa arriving by rail may be the best part of the season. Get there before 11 a.m. so you don't miss the entrance. Regular admission includes a train ride, subject to operating conditions, and it's separate from Santa's arrival. Details: Nov 21, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive at Building 2. Admission $19 adults, $16 seniors and students, $13 ages 2–12.

Santa at Stone Mountain Christmas

Santa at Stone Mountain Christmas

1000 Robert E Lee Blvd, Stone Mountain, GA 30083, USA

Stone Mountain is for a whole festive evening, with lights, shows, a parade and Santa at his North Pole office. Magical Flight to the North Pole is a separate timed experience of about an hour, so buy the combo ticket if you want both. Details: Santa visits on selected dates Nov 7–Dec 24; the festival runs to Jan 3, 2027. Attractions ticket required, plus $25 daily parking. Check the day's schedule before you leave.

Southern Belle Farm

Southern Belle Farm

1658 Turner Church Rd, McDonough, GA 30252, USA

Southern Belle is the farm-style option, with Santa as part of a weekend of holiday activities and treats from the market. In past seasons there was no charge for a picture with your own camera, and the Donut Breakfast with Santa was a ticketed extra. 2026 dates are still to come. Details: Last year Santa visited on weekends through mid-December. Activities are ticketed separately.
