Atlanta's Christmas markets aren't all trying to do the same thing. Some are for mulled wine and a night under the lights. Others are where you find a gift that doesn't look like a last-minute order.
For the classic outing, start with Lawrenceville or Roswell. For original gifts, go to Indie Craft or Spruill. For a German celebration inside the city, pick the one-day market at Atlanta International School. For a real day trip, save one of Helen's two market weekends.
The big news for 2026 is Senoia, a second Atlanta Christkindl Market south of the city. If you still think of Christkindl as a Buckhead event, it moved to Lawrenceville in 2025. Buckhead still has its own holiday markets, and they're listed separately below.

Festive Christmas Markets and Holiday Outings in Atlanta
These are the markets to pick for food, a warm drink and real Christmas atmosphere. Lawrenceville, Roswell, Senoia and Helen are outings in their own right, so treat each as its own trip.

Lawrenceville Christkindl Market
210 Luckie St, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, USA
This is the big one, with about 100 wooden booths on the Lawrenceville Lawn and plenty of bratwurst, chimney cakes and glühwein. A 50-foot tree, live music, weekend Santa photos and a new, larger Ferris wheel make it easy to stay all evening. It's about 45 minutes from downtown Atlanta, so get there before dark, shop first and linger later. Details: Nov 20–Dec 24. Wed–Thu, 3–9pm; Fri–Sun, 11am–9pm. Thanksgiving week adds Mon–Wed, 11am–9pm, and it's closed Thanksgiving Day. Christmas week adds Mon–Wed, 11am–9pm, then Dec 24, 11am–4pm. Free. Park free at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, 75 Langley Drive, then follow the lit Winterlight Walk less than half a mile to the market.

Roswell Christkindlmarket
180 Bulloch Ave, Roswell, GA 30075, USA
Roswell sets its market on the front lawn of Bulloch Hall, so you get a historic backdrop instead of a shopping-center feel. Come for homemade mulled wine and German food, then stay for dinner in town. It's a good pick for a relaxed date, about 35 minutes from downtown. Details: Nov 20–Dec 23. Free.
Senoia Christkindl Market
158 Seavy St, Senoia, GA 30276, USA
New for 2026, this is the smaller, quieter sibling to Lawrenceville, with about 50 booths around a 15-foot Christmas pyramid just off Main Street. Steinbach, the German nutcracker maker, is setting up a workshop here too. It's about an hour from downtown, so make an afternoon of the historic town before the market lights up. Details: Nov 27–Dec 24. Wed–Thu, 3–9pm; Fri–Sun, 11am–9pm. Christmas week adds Mon–Wed, 11am–9pm, then Dec 24, 11am–4pm. Free. The main entrance and drop-off are at 158 Seavy Street, with parking on downtown streets and in nearby lots.

AIS German Christmas Market
2890 N Fulton Dr NE, Atlanta, GA 30305, USA
This one-day market at Atlanta International School is run by its community, with German food and drinks, live entertainment and local vendors. It feels more like a neighborhood tradition than a commercial market, and it's the closest German market to the city. Go around lunch, since it's a short day. Details: Saturday, Dec 5, 11am–4pm. Free. Use the visitor lots beside the Early Learning Center, and watch the posted parking rules in Garden Hills.

SWEA Swedish Christmas Market
6500 Vernon Woods Dr NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328, USA
The draw here is the Lucia procession, a Swedish tradition with two showings. Around it, you'll find Swedish baked goods, chocolate and crafts, plus a café, fresh waffles with jam and whipped cream, and hot dogs. The Swedish School of Atlanta runs activities for kids, which makes this an easy family morning. Details: Saturday, Dec 5, 10:30am–3pm. Lucia processions are at noon and 2pm. $5 for adults, free under 18.
Virginia-Highland Winterfest Gift Market
Virginia Ave NE & Lanier Blvd NE, Atlanta, GA 30306, USA
Winterfest shuts down Virginia Avenue and Lanier Boulevard for a full neighborhood party. Nearly 100 local makers and artisans sell everything from youth-made crafts to vintage jewelry, and there's a Kids Corner for families. Stay for lunch in the neighborhood, but don't save the stalls for Sunday. The gift market is Saturday only. Details: Saturday, Dec 12, 10:30am–4:30pm. Kids Corner runs 11am–4pm. Free.

Miracle on Peachtree Holiday Market
Roswell Rd & Peachtree Road Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30305, USA
This market turns gift shopping into an evening plan. Artisans and specialty vendors set up at Charlie Loudermilk Park, then the Buckhead Village Hot Chocolate Crawl and the tree and menorah lighting give you reasons to stick around. It's a fun one for a date or a group of friends. Details: Saturday, Dec 5, 3–7pm. The Hot Chocolate Crawl runs 5–7pm, and the lighting starts at 7pm.

Holiday Spirit at Oakland
374 M.L.K. Jr Dr SE, Atlanta, GA 30312, USA
No other market here has a setting like Historic Oakland Cemetery. Holiday Spirit pairs handmade gifts and seasonal treats with live music, Santa photos and a community tree lighting. Go Friday evening for the most atmosphere. Details: Friday and Saturday, Dec 4–5. Free. Guided tours are ticketed separately.

Duluth Handmade Holiday Market
Duluth, GA 30096, USA
This outdoor market is part of Deck the Hall, Duluth's big holiday party on the Town Green. Kids get a real snow playground, a snow slide, crafts and Santa, while adults browse handmade ornaments, candles, jewelry and woodwork. It's the best pick here if the kids are running the day, and downtown's restaurants are right there. Details: Saturday, Dec 5, 2–7pm. The event is at 3167 Main Street, with public parking around the Town Green.
Helen Christmas Market
8660 N Main St, Helen, GA 30545, USA
Helen is a day trip, about 90 minutes to two hours each way, and the alpine town is the reason to go. The market runs at two sites, the downtown Marktplatz and Unicoi Hill Park, with handmade gifts, decorations and sweets. Shop first, then have a sit-down meal at one of the town's restaurants. It's a two-weekend market, not something that's open whenever you visit Helen. Details: Nov 28–29 and Dec 5–6, 10am–5pm each day. Free. Arrive with plenty of daylight. The stalls close at 5pm, even if you stay in town for dinner.

Makers' Markets and Craft Fairs for Holiday Gifts
This is where the real gift shopping happens. Go to these with a list, and leave room for something you didn't know you wanted.

Indie Craft Winter Experience
665 Marietta St NW, Atlanta, GA 30313, USA
If you're after genuinely good gifts, start here. More than 100 makers, artists and vintage sellers fill LOOP on Marietta Street, and hands-on maker stations give you something to do besides shop. It's fully indoors, with a cash bar and local food, so bad weather won't ruin the day. Details: Dec 5–6, 11am–5pm. VIP entry starts at 10am on Saturday. From $5 plus fees online, or $10 for an event-weekend ticket. VIP is $20 plus fees. Sunday from 3 to 5pm is pay what you want. Onsite parking is $5, and the first 100 people through the door each day get a free tote.

Spruill Holiday Art Fair
4681 Ashford Dunwoody Rd, Atlanta, GA 30338, USA
Spruill's gallery turns into a holiday shop for more than a month, and everything is made by Georgia artists. Expect ornaments, pottery, candles, jewelry and more from over 100 artists and artisans. It's indoors and open long after the one-weekend fairs end, which makes it the best last-minute option here. Details: Nov 13–Dec 23 at 4681 Ashford Dunwoody Road. Opening night is Nov 13, 5–9pm. Spruill's free events include Santa pictures on Nov 15, a wine tasting on Dec 9 and Mistletoe & Margaritas on Dec 18.

Apple Annie Arts & Crafts Show
4905 Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA 30062, USA
Now in its 45th year, Apple Annie is East Cobb's big traditional craft show, with more than 100 artisans selling handmade work at St. Ann. Friday gives you more time, while Saturday ends at 2pm, so make it a morning plan. Strollers aren't allowed, which rules it out for some families. Details: Friday, Dec 4, 9am–6pm; Saturday, Dec 5, 9am–2pm. $5, free for ages 12 and under. Parking is free onsite, with a free shuttle from the overflow lot.
Decatur Holiday Marketplace
155 Erie Ave, Decatur, GA 30030, USA
Artists fill the classrooms and hallways of Clairemont Elementary for this long-running community fair. The work is handmade, the setting is indoors, and the café is part of the fun. Friday night is an easy after-work browse, and Saturday gives you more room to linger. Details: Friday, Dec 11, 5:30–9pm; Saturday, Dec 12, 10am–5pm. Free.

Decatur Makers Holiday Market
605 W Ponce de Leon Ave, Decatur, GA 30030, USA
This one's built for meeting the people who made the thing you're buying. Pottery, woodwork and jewelry share the maker space with hands-on activities, so kids aren't just trailing adults from table to table. It's also early enough to get a real start on your list. Details: Saturday, Nov 14, 10am–4pm. Maker activities are free, and the Kid Zone is a $10 wristband from 10am to 2pm.

Piedmont Park Handmade Holiday Market
929 Charles Allen Dr, Atlanta, GA 30306, USA
This is the easy answer to what to do with visiting family after Thanksgiving. Up to 100 booths of paintings, photography, glass, jewelry and leatherwork set up in the park, so you get a walk and some shopping in one trip. Dress for being outside, and save lunch for Midtown. Details: Saturday, Nov 28, 10am–5pm; Sunday, Nov 29, 11am–5pm. Free. Head for the Charles Allen entrance, near 10th Street.
Buckhead Handmade Holiday Market
259 Buckhead Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30305, USA
Art and handmade gifts line Buckhead Avenue for the weekend, right in the middle of the neighborhood's shops and restaurants. It's outdoors, rain or shine. On Saturday, it pairs nicely with the Miracle on Peachtree market and tree lighting. Details: Saturday, Dec 5, 11am–6pm; Sunday, Dec 6, 11am–5pm. Free.

Trinity Christmas Artist Market
2270 Defoor Hills Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318, USA
Trinity is the quieter alternative to the big fairs, with pottery, fine art, candles and jewelry at a smaller scale. Arrive with a few people in mind and take your time at the tables. It's also a good first stop before Indie Craft on the same Saturday. Details: Saturday, Dec 5, 10am–3pm. Free. It's at Trinity Anglican on Defoor Hills Road. Other Atlanta churches have similar names.

Alpharetta Christmas Market
125 Milton Ave, Alpharetta, GA 30009, USA
This is the straightforward north-side gift run, with crafts, décor, jewelry and food at Innovation Academy. It lines up with the city's Hop and Shop day, so downtown's shops and a lunch reservation can fill out the rest of your Saturday. Details: Saturday, Dec 5, 9am–4pm. Free. It's at 125 Milton Avenue, not the farmers market's usual spot.

Village Retail Maker's Market at Ponce City Market
Eastside Trail, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA
Fold this into a Ponce City Market afternoon rather than planning a day around it. Rotating local makers, artists and vintage sellers set up at The Shed, so part of your group can browse while the rest grab lunch or walk the BeltLine. The Dec 19 date is handy for late shoppers. Details: Nov 27–28 and Dec 19. Aim for noon or later. Look for The Shed, not the permanent Village Retail shop inside.

Creator's Market at Atlantic Station
1380 Atlantic Dr NW, Atlanta, GA 30363, USA
Atlantic Station works when you want a flexible day with a market as one part of it. Local makers and small businesses set up around Atlantic Green on holiday weekends, with the district's shops and restaurants all around you. It's a makers' market with holiday trimmings, not a German Christkindlmarket. Details: Nov 27–29, Dec 5–6, Dec 12–13 and Dec 19–20. Free. It's weather-dependent, and vendors change from weekend to weekend.
Two early-November fairs. Get a head start at Marist Holiday Traditions, a juried show with more than 240 artists on Saturday, Nov 7, 9am–4pm. The Elegant Elf Marketplace follows at Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center on Nov 7, 9am–5pm, and Nov 8, 10am–4pm.
