Dallas does Halloween in more than one way. There are restaurants running horror-movie dinners, Irish pubs that go heavy on the cobwebs, a hotel tea themed to The Nightmare Before Christmas, goth nights that have been running for decades and a bar that stays in October all year. Some of the best seasonal pop-ups sit just outside the city, in Fort Worth, Frisco, Plano and Grapevine, so we've included those too, clearly labeled.

The first sections are the 22 places on our map: the pop-ups and takeovers, the decorated bars and themed dining, and the spots that are spooky every night. After that come the Cedar Springs Block Party, which is Saturday, October 24, a week before Halloween, then the parties and bar crawls on Halloween weekend. Halloween itself falls on a Saturday this year, so book what you can and plan your ride home.

Dallas Halloween bars at a glance

Best Halloween dinner: Victor's Restaurant & Bar in Oak Cliff, with Nightmare on Davis Street through November 2 and horror-movie dinners on Fridays.

Best pop-up bar: Black Lagoon at Nickel City in Fort Worth, October 12 to 31. In Dallas proper, Horror Bar at Station 4 is the themed room.

Best decorated pub: The Old Monk on Henderson Avenue, with Spider Murphy's and The Skellig a short walk away.

Best by day: the Nightmare Before Christmas afternoon tea at Hotel Crescent Court, or The Apothecary at Funny Library for coffee.

Best goth night: The Church's Halloween on Halloween at It'll Do Club on October 31.

Best for horror fans: the Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff, with horror screenings most of October and a bar you can use without a ticket.

Best with kids: The Stix Icehouse's movie night and Trunk or Treat in McKinney, or Truck Yard Dallas's Halloween party on October 24 before 9pm.

Biggest night: the Cedar Springs Block Party on Saturday, October 24. Free, 18+ to enter, 21+ to drink.

Start with the location and the kind of outing, then check the booking route. A dining reservation, a show ticket and a party ticket are not the same thing.

Halloween Pop-Up Bars and Takeovers in Dallas and DFW (2026)

These are the seasonal makeovers: new drinks, a new theme and a room dressed for the month. Dallas proper has two this year, a full restaurant takeover in Oak Cliff and a softer, witchy cafe pop-up in the Design District. The bigger cocktail pop-ups are a short drive away, led by Black Lagoon in Fort Worth.

Dates and booking differ at each. Victor's runs through November 2 with Friday movie dinners, Spookeasy in Frisco needs an event ticket on the evening of October 24, and Suburban Yacht Club takes Halloween reservations on OpenTable. The hotel's Witch, Please drag brunch at Funny Library's home, Virgin Hotels Dallas, is October 18 (see the calendar below), and its Twisted Fairy Tales party is in the Halloween-night list.

Dallas

Victor's Restaurant & Bar

Victor's Restaurant & Bar

3022 W Davis St, Dallas, TX 75211, USA

Nightmare on Davis Street turns this Oak Cliff Southern comfort-food restaurant and bar into a haunted-house dinner spot through November 2, with a spooky cocktail menu to match. Fridays are the night: the dine-in movie nights pair Jeepers Creepers (October 16) and Halloween (2018) (October 23) with an entrée, a cocktail and unlimited popcorn for $29.99. Reserve through the venue; movie-night RSVPs are under Events.

Funny Library Coffee Shop

Funny Library Coffee Shop

1445 Turtle Creek Blvd, Dallas, TX 75207, USA

The Apothecary is the gentle end of Halloween: a botanical, slightly witchy makeover of the coffee shop on the ground floor of Virgin Hotels Dallas, open 7am to 5pm through November 1. Go between 1 and 2pm for the Witching Hour, when pumpkin spice lattes are $4. Potions 101 on October 15 is a 21+ mixology class, $30 with two cocktails.

Nearby DFW

Nickel City

Nickel City

212 S Main St Ste 100, Fort Worth, TX 76104, USA

Black Lagoon, the national goth cocktail pop-up, skipped Dallas this year, and this Near Southside bar in Fort Worth is its only DFW stop, October 12 to 31. Make it the night out rather than a stop on the way somewhere else. Check the bar for hours, cover and age rules.

Lounge by Topgolf

Lounge by Topgolf

3255 PGA Pkwy, Frisco, TX 75033, USA

Spookeasy dresses the lounge at the Omni PGA Frisco Resort as a gothic Halloween bar through November 1, with cocktails like the Blue Diablo Margarita and food like Vampire Killer Wings. Come in costume on a Thursday for a free appetizer per table; DJs play October 24 and 31. On October 24 the PGA District closes at 3pm and reopens 6 to 9pm for Halloween Par-Tee ticket holders only.

Third Rail Bar + Events

Third Rail Bar + Events

Inside Harvest Hall, 815 S Main St, Grapevine, TX 76051, USA

Nightmare on Main Street brings Halloween decor, seasonal cocktails and live music to the bar inside Grapevine's Harvest Hall food hall through October. An easy group pick, since everyone can order from a different kitchen. If you're going for a particular band, book that show separately.

Suburban Yacht Club

Suburban Yacht Club

5872 State Hwy 121 Ste 104, Plano, TX 75024, USA

The Plano bar's Halloween makeover comes with a menu that works for dinner, not just drinks. The $30 Ghoul Dinner gets you a Halloween cocktail, Vampire Wings and a caramel apple, and there's a $7 non-alcoholic Halloween drink for the rest of the table. Runs October 1 to 31; reserve the Halloween experience on OpenTable.

Halloween-Decorated Bars, Restaurants and Themed Dining in Dallas

Pick this section for a meal, a seasonal drink or an afternoon out rather than a full pop-up or a late party. The Henderson Avenue Irish pubs are the decor play, and they're close enough to do two in a night. Hotel Crescent Court is the dressed-up daytime option, and the Nearby DFW picks lean toward families.

Cris and John's Spooky Sips menu is all non-alcoholic, and the restaurant is closed Saturdays and Mondays, so plan it for another day than Halloween itself.

Dallas

Hotel Crescent Court

Hotel Crescent Court

400 Crescent Ct, Dallas, TX 75201, USA

The Nightmare Before Christmas: A Spook-tacular Afternoon Tea brings Halloween Town sandwiches, sweets and ghoulish decor to one of Uptown's grand hotels, October 10 to November 1. The polished daytime pick, good for a birthday or a dressed-up afternoon. Book the tea itself through the hotel; the price depends on the seating and guest category.

Beau Nash

Beau Nash

400 Crescent Ct, Dallas, TX 75201, USA

Boos & Brews is the hotel bar's seasonal cocktail list, with drinks like the Campfire Martini (bourbon, espresso, chocolate and toasted marshmallow) and the Night Shade (spiced rum, black currant and grapefruit). A Halloween drink in a handsome hotel bar rather than a haunted room, and an easy follow-on after the Crescent Court tea. October 1 to 31.

The Old Monk

The Old Monk

2847 N Henderson Ave, Dallas, TX 75206, USA

The anchor of the Henderson Avenue pub trio, decked out heavily for October and usually pouring a few Halloween drinks. It's a proper pub with a kitchen, so it works as dinner and a pint in a festive room, and it hosts a pumpkin carving night in the last week of October.

Spider Murphy’s Pub

Spider Murphy’s Pub

2810 N Henderson Ave, Dallas, TX 75206, USA

Same owners as The Old Monk and the same approach to October: heavy decorations and seasonal drinks in a neighborhood pub. It's a short walk from The Old Monk, so the two are easy to pair.

the Skellig

the Skellig

2409 N Henderson Ave, Dallas, TX 75206, USA

The third of the Henderson Avenue trio, down toward Knox, with the same heavy October decor and seasonal drinks. Close enough to The Old Monk and Spider Murphy's to make it a three-pub night.

Dubliner

Dubliner

2818 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75206, USA

A long-running Lower Greenville Irish pub, run by a Dublin native, that dresses up heavily for Halloween. Expect a strong whiskey list and a pumpkin carving night late in the month; on Halloween weekend it's also the wristband pickup for the Trick or Drink bar crawl.

Cris and John

Cris and John

6090 Campbell Rd #136, Dallas, TX 75248, USA

Spooky Sips is the non-alcoholic October menu here: a horchata pumpkin spice latte, an ube Terror Tea, an ube matcha Witches Brew and a lychee Haunted Hibiscus. Plan it for a weekday or Sunday, because the restaurant is closed Saturdays and Mondays, which rules out Halloween itself.

Nearby DFW

The Stix Icehouse

The Stix Icehouse

301 Eldorado Pkwy #100, McKinney, TX 75069, USA

One of the easiest family Halloween plans around Dallas. The tavern is dressed for Halloween, and two free events make the drive worth it: a Hotel Transylvania movie night on October 23 at 7:30pm (bring lawn chairs or blankets) and a Trunk or Treat on October 29 from 6 to 8pm. Food and drinks are bought on site.

Heirloom Haul

Heirloom Haul

6765 Winning Dr Ste 830, Frisco, TX 75034, USA

The Frisco cafe inside Flea Style at The Star runs a children's Halloween tea through October, with spider-web muffins, ghost sugar cookies, little sandwiches and a kids' drink, plus a Haunted Latte for the grown-ups. Cute rather than scary. Daily 10am to 6pm, kitchen closes at 5pm; reserve the Frisco location.

Heirloom Haul

Heirloom Haul

1150 S Preston Rd #20, Prosper, TX 75078, USA

The Prosper branch, also inside a Flea Style shop, runs the same October children's Halloween tea. Pick whichever is closer, and use the Prosper reservation selector rather than Frisco's. Daily 10am to 6pm, kitchen closes at 5pm.

Year-Round Spooky Bars, Goth Nights and Horror Haunts in Dallas

These places don't need an October installation. Horror Bar is the themed room, The Church and Panoptikon are the goth nights that have outlasted most of Deep Ellum, the Texas Theatre is where Dallas watches horror, and Deep Cuts is the horror coffee shop. Ruins is here for atmosphere rather than a literal horror theme.

The Texas Theatre's Joe Bob's Halloween Spooktacular on October 31 had sold out its general and VIP tickets when we checked, but the theater runs horror most nights in late October, including Nosferatu with a live score on the 30th.

Station 4

Station 4

3911 Cedar Springs Rd, Dallas, TX 75219, USA

Horror Bar is a candlelit, fog-machined lounge on the first floor of this Cedar Springs club that bills itself as stuck in permanent October, with rotating themed cocktails and a shelf of bitters. Third Fridays are Possessed, a goth night (October 16), and Sundays are Crypt Karaoke. Wednesday to Sunday from 9pm; 18+ with physical ID, 21+ to drink.

It'll Do Club

It'll Do Club

4322 Elm St, Dallas, TX 75226, USA

Home of The Church, Dallas's long-running goth and industrial night, which spent a quarter century at the Lizard Lounge before moving here. Vampire Lounge with DJ Red Vamp is Sunday, October 25 ($10 at the door), and Halloween on Halloween with Lord Byron and Red Vamp is Saturday, October 31, 8pm to 2am. Buy ahead for the 31st. 21+.

Sons of Hermann Hall

Sons of Hermann Hall

3414 Elm St, Dallas, TX 75226, USA

Panoptikon, the Friday goth party DJ Lord Byron started 20 years ago, runs in this 1911 dance hall, one of Dallas's best-known haunted buildings. Fridays from 9pm, pay at the door: $10 at 21+, $15 for ages 18 to 20. Check Panoptikon's calendar for its Halloween weekend plans.

Texas Theatre

Texas Theatre

231 Jefferson Blvd, Dallas, TX 75208, USA

The historic Oak Cliff movie palace runs horror most of October, and the bar opens 45 minutes before the first show with cinema-themed cocktails; you don't need a ticket to sit in the lounge. Picks: The Craft (October 23), Bride of Frankenstein with Bishop Street Ballet (October 25), a drag show and horror screening (October 28) and Nosferatu with a live score (October 30).

Deep Cuts Coffee

Deep Cuts Coffee

in Skybridge, 1910 Pacific Ave 2060 2nd Floor, Dallas, TX 75201, USA

A horror-movie coffee shop full of memorabilia and tube TVs, serving Cultivar coffee and local pastries. It's tucked into the second-floor Pacific Place skybridge rather than on the street, so save the exact address. October brings Pumpkinhead, a cayenne Witches' Brew and the maple brown sugar Season of the Witch.

Ruins

Ruins

2653 Commerce St, Dallas, TX 75226, USA

A Deep Ellum bar and restaurant built to feel like a Budapest ruin pub, with three rooms of art, Latin American food with Oaxacan influences and a deep agave list. Not a Halloween attraction, but the year-round pick when you want dinner and drinks somewhere dark and atmospheric. Walk-ins welcome; 21+ after 9pm.

Cedar Springs Halloween Block Party 2026

Saturday, October 24, from 7pm · 3900 block of Cedar Springs Road, Dallas

The Dallas Halloween Block Party is the city's big costume night, and it lands a week before Halloween. Entry is free, it's 18+, and cocktails are 21+ with ID. Locals call it the one Dallas Halloween event to do at least once: the costumes are elaborate and the crowd is everyone, not just the neighborhood.

The organizer's posted schedule is labeled a sample, so treat the times as a guide: gates at 7pm, live music at 8pm, a drag show at 9:30pm, the Costume Runway Competition at 11pm and a headline DJ from midnight. The participating venues are TMC, the Rose Room, Station 4, Sue Ellen's, JR's and Out of the Shadows. Free entry to the street doesn't guarantee free entry to every bar, so check each door.

Pick a meeting spot before you go in, because phone signal drops in the crowd. Don't plan on parking nearby; take a rideshare and get dropped a few blocks away. Horror Bar inside Station 4 is the quieter room on the strip if you need a break.

Two different Saturdays: the Cedar Springs Block Party is October 24. Halloween night, and most of the parties below, are October 31.

Dallas Halloween Bar Crawls 2026

A crawl ticket mostly buys you a wristband, a map and drink specials at participating bars. It's worth it if you want a guaranteed costume crowd; if not, you can walk the same blocks for free. Most are 21+, and crawl stops aren't on our map, since joining a crawl doesn't mean a bar is decorated.
