Best First-Date Bars in Dallas (2026)
Bars where you can get a seat, hear each other and keep it to one drink or stay for three, sorted by neighborhood.

Run a business in this guide, or want yours added? Get in touch.
A good first-date bar does a few quiet jobs well. You can get a seat without a fight, order something you'll both actually like, and hear each other without leaning across the table. The room should have some personality, but it shouldn't be the main event.
This guide covers 51 bars across Dallas and the wider metroplex, from Bishop Arts and Lower Greenville to Fort Worth, Grapevine, Plano and Denton, because plenty of first dates start with finding somewhere in between. They cover the different versions of that night: a glass of wine that might turn into two, a proper cocktail bar, coffee that becomes drinks, or somewhere with real food in case neither of you wants to leave. They're grouped by area so you can pick somewhere easy for both of you, and each one comes with notes on when to go and how to get a table.

First-Date Bars in East Dallas, Lakewood and Garland Road
The east side has the deepest bench of first-date bars in the city, from serious cocktail rooms to a winery and a retro lounge with Vietnamese food.

Saint Valentine
4800 Bryan St, Dallas, TX 75204, USA
If you only remember one name from this guide, make it this one. Saint Valentine takes its cocktails seriously without making the night feel like an occasion, and the room gives you options: a proper bar, booths, small tables and a patio. The menu has room for adventurous drinks and simple ones, and there's food if one drink becomes three. The music is lively but doesn't take over, which matters more on a first date than any amount of décor. Go Tuesday through Thursday, soon after it opens at 5 p.m., and you'll be settled in before the late crowd shows up.

Lounge Here
9028 Garland Rd, Dallas, TX 75218, USA
Lounge Here feels a little special without asking much of you. It's a retro lounge with seasonal cocktails and Southern-inspired food, so it works just as well for one drink as for an unplanned dinner, and Garland Road makes a handy meeting point on the east side of town. Live music is part of the programming here, so ask what's on that night if talking is the priority. Book with the venue directly, since its OpenTable page isn't active.

Times Ten Cellars
6324 Prospect Ave, Dallas, TX 75214, USA
Lakewood's winery and wine bar gives a first date a simple shape: order a glass, compare notes on what you like, and decide from there whether to stay. With a tasting room, a lounge, a patio and small plates, it feels made for a wine date, and nobody will blink if you skip dinner. As a pair you'll be walking in, since reservations are only for groups of six or more. Early evening or a weekend afternoon works best, and it's closed on Mondays.

Cosmo's
1212 Skillman St, Dallas, TX 75206, USA
Cosmo's is for people who'd rather meet somewhere relaxed and a little quirky than somewhere trying to impress. The vintage furniture and retro décor are half the fun. The Vietnamese food is the other half, so staying for something substantial makes sense. Locals rate it highly as a first-date bar, with one caveat: a packed weekend night is a different experience. Go early on a weeknight and keep dinner as an option rather than the plan.

Sylvestro
1410 N Fitzhugh Ave Ste C, Dallas, TX 75204, USA
Sylvestro solves the "do we book dinner?" question before it comes up. The bar is attached to Urbano Cafe and serves the restaurant's food at its small tables, so you can start with a cocktail or an Italian wine and simply keep going if you get hungry. The wine and digestivo list gives it a different feel from Dallas's better-known cocktail bars, and it suits two people who love food but don't want a tasting-menu night. When you call, ask for seating at Sylvestro itself; a reservation at the restaurant doesn't cover the bar.

Black Swan Saloon
1623 N Hall St Ste 101, Dallas, TX 75204, USA
Black Swan is the cocktail bar for people who care more about what's in the glass than about making an entrance. The team behind Saint Valentine brought it back in 2024, four years after the original Deep Ellum bar closed, and the new room has the booths, dim lighting, art-covered walls and the same velvet Clint Eastwood portrait behind the bar. All that art gives you something to talk about without turning the date into an activity. Get there early enough that two good seats are easy to find, and double-check that your map is sending you to Hall Street, not Deep Ellum.
First-Date Bars in Uptown, Oak Lawn and Henderson Avenue
This is where you'll find the dressier date bars, plus one very good neighborhood pub for when a cocktail lounge would feel like overkill.

Bowen House
2614 Boll St, Dallas, TX 75204, USA
Few rooms in Dallas look more like a date than Bowen House. The bar sits in a historic house, the cocktails are good, and the food is substantial enough to turn a drink into dinner. It's also popular, and at peak it gets loud and crowded. Book ahead with the venue and aim for an early weeknight. Bowen House is a great pick when you can control the timing and a risky one when you just need somewhere quiet.

Parliament
2418 Allen St, Dallas, TX 75204, USA
Parliament is the after-work pick. The cocktails are the draw, and the happy hour is unusually generous: all day Monday, 5–8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and any time it's raining. Two things to know before you go. It doesn't take reservations, so get there before the room fills up. And a 20% gratuity is added to every check, so read the bill before you tip again.

Bar Colette
3699 McKinney Ave #306, Dallas, TX 75204, USA
This is where you go when you want your choice of bar to show a little effort. The room is small and carefully designed, the cocktails are technically ambitious, and the food comes from the team behind Namo. It's a natural fit for two people who already know they love cocktail bars. Reservations are limited and run in 90-minute slots, and the dinner slots are meant for people eating dinner. Bar seats are first come, first served, so for drinks only, book a non-dinner slot or show up early for the bar. It's cashless.

Clifton Club Bar & Lounge
3333 N Fitzhugh Ave, Dallas, TX 75204, USA
Clifton Club's layout does a lot of the work on a first date: booths, smaller seating areas, and a garden away from the main lounge. There's enough food to make a night of it, and it books on OpenTable, which takes the guesswork out of the start. Weekends bring DJ sets, so reserve an early table. For a sense of prices, specialty cocktails are $17, martinis are $19, and selected cocktails drop to $12 during happy hour, Tuesday through Sunday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The Library
3015 Oak Lawn Ave, Dallas, TX 75219, USA
The Library is a first date done the traditional way: classic cocktails, deep lounge seating and the feel of a long-established hotel bar inside the Warwick Melrose. The food menu is a real one, so there's no need to find a second spot when you get hungry. It's a piano bar, and that cuts both ways. Some nights the music is the best part; other nights it competes with the conversation you came for. Ask when that evening's performer starts, then decide whether to arrive before or make it part of the plan.

The Old Monk
2847 N Henderson Ave, Dallas, TX 75206, USA
The original Old Monk on Henderson is the move when a cocktail lounge would feel like too much. Beer, pub food and dark wood make "want to grab a drink?" sound exactly as casual as it should. Timing makes or breaks it. Afternoons and early-week evenings are relaxed and easy to talk in, while weekend nights get busy. Pick an off-peak hour and it's an easy, comfortable first date.
First-Date Bars on Lower Greenville
Three very different first dates on one stretch of Greenville Avenue: an ambitious cocktail bar, a dark martini room and a cheerful wine-and-pizza spot.

Apothecary
1922 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75206, USA
Apothecary now runs as two separate experiences, which makes it easier to pick the right night. Archive leans classic, with craft spirits, wine and balanced seasonal cocktails. Alchemy is the experimental side, built around unusual ingredients and unexpected flavors. If you don't know the other person's taste yet, start in Archive and save Alchemy for when you both want to be surprised. There's food if you want it. Book on Tock, and note that two-person reservations can be capped at 90 minutes when it's busy.

Goose Bar at Goodwins
2905 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75206, USA
Goose Bar is Goodwins' other personality: a darker cocktail room that suits a drinks-led date far better than the main restaurant. You get the feel of a tucked-away bar with an established kitchen right next door. When you book, ask for Goose Bar by name. A regular Goodwins dining reservation doesn't guarantee you a seat in the bar room, and earlier in the evening is the better bet.

Leela's Wine Bar - Lowest Greenville
1914 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75206, USA
Leela's is the bright, easygoing option on this stretch: wine on tap, cocktails, shareable plates and thin-crust pizza. You can start with a glass and add food without the evening changing character. It's not the place for a hushed conversation, so go early on a weekday and see what's on before picking a busy night. This location runs $7 selected wines and cocktails Monday through Friday, 4–6 p.m. If you book, make sure it's the Lowest Greenville Leela's and not another branch.
First-Date Bars in Bishop Arts, Oak Cliff and West Dallas
Bishop Arts packs a bookstore bar, a café, a wine shop and a cocktail lounge into a few blocks, which makes it easy to move on to a second spot if the first one goes well.

The Wild Detectives - Stories
314 W Eighth St, Dallas, TX 75208, USA
The Wild Detectives might be the lowest-pressure first date in Dallas. It's a bookstore with a bar, so you can browse, order a coffee or a drink, and decide whether to sit down and stay. It's especially good when one of you wants a drink and the other would rather have coffee. The original location is now called Stories; a second space, Ideas, is at 321 North Zang Boulevard. Both have bars and events, but this pick is Stories. Check the calendar and go when nothing is scheduled if you want to talk.

La Reunion
229 N Bishop Ave, Dallas, TX 75208, USA
La Reunion means you don't have to decide whether this is a coffee date or a drinks date before you arrive. Coffee, cocktails, wine and food all live in the same café-bar, so each of you can order whatever feels right. It's one of the best options here for a daytime first meeting. Daytime and early evening are best for conversation. There's live music and a livelier side later on, so don't assume the café look means it's always quiet.

Neighborhood Cellar
246 W Davis St, Dallas, TX 75208, USA
Neighborhood Cellar works when wine is the shared interest but a big "wine experience" would be overkill. It's a wine shop and bar, so comparing what you like and asking for a recommendation comes naturally. A flight of three wines is $22, and there's plenty by the glass. Plan around the hours: it closes at 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 6 p.m. on Sunday. That makes it a good afternoon or early-evening date with time left for dinner after.

Tiny Victories
604 N Tyler St, Dallas, TX 75208, USA
Tiny Victories lives up to the name: 1,000 square feet and 40 seats. On a first date that small scale is a big part of the appeal, since there's no circulating crowd to talk over. The focus is inventive cocktails rather than a full restaurant night. Small also means seats go fast, so send a reservation inquiry through its website or get there early. It's on North Tyler Street rather than the main Bishop Avenue strip.

Atlas Bishop Arts
408 N Bishop Ave #101, Dallas, TX 75208, USA
Atlas is the pick when a little drama helps. The Bishop Arts room is intimate and old-world in feel, the cocktail menu is built around global themes, and the food is made for sharing. It's best for two people who enjoy debating the menu instead of ordering the usual. The moody décor doesn't guarantee a quiet room, so go early. For reservations, contact this location directly; Atlas has other locations with their own booking details.

Jettison
1878 Sylvan Ave, Dallas, TX 75208, USA
Jettison is a small, deliberate bar connected to Houndstooth Coffee at Sylvan Thirty, styled after a Japanese jazz listening café with a hi-fi system at its heart. The spirits list leans into whiskey, mezcal and sherry, and there are more low-ABV drinks and mocktails than at most cocktail bars, which helps if one of you isn't drinking. Food is limited, so think of it as a drinks date. It reopened in 2025 as a walk-in bar, so there's no reservation to chase, and happy hour runs from 5 to 6 p.m. Arrive early and treat the music as part of the evening. It's a listening bar, after all.
First-Date Bars in Downtown, Deep Ellum and Exposition Park
One showstopper hotel bar, one independent Deep Ellum favorite and one mezcal bar across from Fair Park.

Midnight Rambler
1530 Main St Ste 100, Dallas, TX 75201, USA
Midnight Rambler is the Downtown pick when you want your choice of bar to say something. It's a basement cocktail bar inside The Joule, with creative drinks and comfortable seating, and it feels far more like a destination than a hotel lobby bar. Reservations are strongly encouraged, and walk-ins can join a waiting list. Book an early slot, since weekends get livelier as the night goes on. You'll enter through The Joule, and if you drive, the bar validates $5 hotel valet for up to two hours.

Armoury D.E.
2714 Elm St, Dallas, TX 75226, USA
Armoury is for two people who'd feel more at home in an independent Deep Ellum bar than a polished lounge. The cocktails are good, the Hungarian-influenced comfort food is a genuine reason to stay, and live music gives it a personality of its own. Look at the music schedule before you go. A show can make a great date if you both want one, but it's a different night from an easy hour of talking, so go early if conversation is the plan.

Las Almas Rotas
3615 Parry Ave, Dallas, TX 75226, USA
Las Almas Rotas gives the date a built-in topic. The focus is mezcal and other Mexican spirits, served with Mexican street food, and neither of you needs to know a thing going in. It's also walk-in friendly, which takes the pressure off planning. Start with a cocktail or ask the bartender for a recommendation rather than committing to a full tasting, and order food if things are going well. It's in Exposition Park, across from Fair Park, rather than on the main Deep Ellum strip.
First-Date Bars in Fort Worth
Fort Worth has its own first-date scene, centered on Magnolia Avenue and South Main in the Near Southside, with two polished hotel bars in the Cultural District and a bookstore speakeasy downtown.

The Circle Bar at Emilia's
3300 Camp Bowie Blvd, Fort Worth, TX 76107, USA
Fort Worth Magazine named the Circle Bar its best first-date spot in 2026, and the format makes it easy. The bar inside The Crescent Hotel moves from espresso in the morning to aperitivo in the afternoon and cocktails at night, with bites from Emilia's menu and the dining room right there if one drink turns into dinner. TCU game days and live-music nights get busier, so pick a quiet evening, and book Emilia's on OpenTable if you plan to eat.

The Bar at Bowie House
3700 Camp Bowie Blvd, Fort Worth, TX 76107, USA
Bowie House's bar is a coffee spot by day and a mahogany-paneled social bar by evening, with a deep whiskey list, martinis and snacks. It's open daily from 11 a.m. to midnight, the daily House Social runs 4–6 p.m., and Bricks and Horses, the hotel's steakhouse, is on site if you want dinner. Just walk in for the bar.

The Usual
1408 W Magnolia Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104, USA
The Usual has been Magnolia Avenue's go-to cocktail bar for years, and its readers' pick win in Fort Worth Magazine's 2026 awards says it still is. The drinks lean classic and Prohibition-era, the room is raw wood and concrete, and the booths are about as private as a bar booth gets. There's no kitchen, so eat first. Happy hour (4–7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and all night Sunday and Monday) brings $5 martinis, mules and daiquiris.

Atlas Fort Worth
314 S Main St #100, Fort Worth, TX 76104, USA
Atlas's Fort Worth bar feels more like a private library than a bar: wood paneling, a crimson velvet settee, Art Deco ceiling tiles and a fireplace nook. The cocktails take their cues from around the world, and small plates mean you don't need a dinner plan. Walk in, and aim for happy hour if you can: $7 specialty cocktails Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. and all day Wednesday.

Thompson's Bookstore
900 Houston St, Fort Worth, TX 76102, USA
Thompson's is a bookstore-themed bar in a historic downtown building, with a basement speakeasy behind a hidden bookshelf. The password changes weekly and goes up on Instagram (@thompsonsftw), which gives you something to text about before the date. The speakeasy opens at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and is 21+, there's no food, and happy hour brings $6.50 classic cocktails and wines.

Proper
409 W Magnolia Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104, USA
Proper is the kind of neighborhood bar where people sit and read, which is exactly what you want when the point is to talk. Expect a rotating cocktail menu, a patio and a wall of local art. There's no food, and Monday is trivia night, so skip Mondays if you want it quiet.
First-Date Bars in Plano, Frisco and McKinney
Collin County's best date bars are mostly hidden: a speakeasy behind a fish market, another behind a phone booth, and a 1920s parlor in downtown Frisco. Wine bars round it out in Plano and McKinney.

The Wilfred
4017 Preston Rd #530, Plano, TX 75093, USA
This speakeasy sits behind Sea Breeze Fish Market at Lakeside Market, and getting in means answering a trivia question at a keypad, which breaks the ice before you've ordered. Inside it's purple and gold, with chandeliers and velvet chairs. The drinks lean classic, Negronis especially, with caviar bumps and Wagyu sliders if you're hungry. It was CultureMap's only Collin County nominee for Bar of the Year in 2026.

Rare Books Bar
6959 Lebanon Rd Ste 110, Frisco, TX 75034, USA
Rare Books is a password speakeasy inside J. Theodore: step into a phone booth and ask the librarian for a certain novel (the password is posted on its website). It's dark, adults-only and built around a big whiskey collection, craft cocktails and house-made cakes. Live music runs Wednesday through Saturday from 7:30 p.m., so Monday or an early Tuesday is quietest. Book on OpenTable, dress business casual, and catch happy hour Monday through Thursday, 5–7 p.m.

Elaine's Cocktail Kitchen
8763 7th St, Frisco, TX 75034, USA
Elaine's is a small 1920s-style parlor in Frisco's Rail District, with velvet sofas, marble tables, crystal chandeliers and a mosaic-tiled bar. There are 44 seats inside plus a bistro patio, and the menu makes it easy to stay: charcuterie, burrata and a cheese list worth working through. Zero-proof cocktails and 30-plus wines mean everyone gets something good. Reserve through its website.

Sixty Vines Plano
3701 Dallas Pkwy, Plano, TX 75093, USA
The original Sixty Vines pours 60 wines on tap by the flight, half glass, glass or bottle, so splitting a flight is an easy way to compare notes. Wood-fired pizzas and charcuterie cover food. It's more restaurant than bar and draws brunch crowds, so go on a weekday evening and sit in the bar or lounge, where happy hour runs Monday through Friday, 3–6 p.m. Book online.

Zin Zen Wine Bistro
6841 Virginia Pkwy, McKinney, TX 75071, USA
This small wine bistro in Adriatica Village pours about 100 wines, mostly from Napa, Sonoma and Oregon, with flatbreads and build-your-own meat and cheese boards. Adriatica's Mediterranean-village streets are made for a walk afterward. Live music plays Thursday through Saturday nights, so go earlier in the week if talking is the plan.

Landon Winery
101 N Kentucky St, McKinney, TX 75069, USA
Landon's original tasting room has been pouring Texas wines on McKinney's historic square since 2005, plus craft beer and cocktails. The patio looks over the square, and charcuterie boards and flatbreads are served all day. It opens at noon most days (11 a.m. Saturday) and stays open until 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
First-Date Bars in Addison, Richardson, Carrollton and Las Colinas
Hotel bars in Las Colinas, a fireside patio in Richardson and a sake bar in Carrollton's Koreatown, plus two easy Addison picks for when meeting north of LBJ makes more sense.

Bar Juniper
4150 N MacArthur Blvd, Irving, TX 75038, USA
The lobby bar at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, Las Colinas focuses on clear spirits, with a cocktail menu and design that borrow from native Texas plants. It's the kind of seated, quiet hotel bar that suits a first meeting, and Sushi Night (Thursday through Sunday, 5–9 p.m.) covers dinner if things go well. Book on OpenTable; dress is business casual.

LRH Restaurant & Bar
221 E Las Colinas Blvd, Irving, TX 75039, USA
The Omni Las Colinas lobby bar is calm and upscale, with cocktails like a Texas Greyhound and a maple whiskey sour. Afterward you can walk to Water Street and along the canal by Lake Carolyn. Reserve on OpenTable.

The Fifth: Fireside Patio & Bar
2701 Custer Pkwy Ste 700, Richardson, TX 75080, USA
The Fifth is a neighborhood date-night spot in Canyon Creek with a long wine list, craft cocktails and a patio built around a central fireplace that's lit on cool nights. The seasonal menu is good enough to stay for dinner. Book on OpenTable or call.

KichiBar
2630 Old Denton Rd Ste 130, Carrollton, TX 75007, USA
KichiBar is a modern Japanese sushi bar in Carrollton's Koreatown with a sake program, a sake martini, seasonal cocktails and zero-proof options. The plates are small and shareable, so it works for one drink and a hand roll or a full dinner. Reservations are a good idea on weekends, and late-night happy hour (Sunday through Thursday from 9 p.m.) has drinks from $4.

Astoria Caffe & Wine Bar
15701 Quorum Dr, Addison, TX 75001, USA
Astoria keeps a first meeting low-commitment. Coffee, a glass of wine or dessert all work as the whole plan, and there's food if you decide to stay. Go for a relaxed conversation more than a serious cocktail night.

Postino Addison
5280 Belt Line Rd Ste 100, Dallas, TX 75254, USA
Postino is the predictable pick, in a good way: an easy menu and clear prices. Glasses of wine and pitchers of beer are $6 daily until 5 p.m., and after 8 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays a bruschetta board and a bottle of wine is $25. It takes reservations and doesn't accept cash.
First-Date Bars in Grapevine, Southlake and Colleyville
Grapevine sits between Dallas and Fort Worth, which makes it a natural meeting point. Hotel Vin alone has two of the best date rooms in the area, and Southlake and Colleyville add a hotel speakeasy and a champagne bar.

Magnum Speakeasy
215 E Dallas Rd, Grapevine, TX 76051, USA
Magnum is tiny, about 18 seats inside Hotel Vin, and getting in is half the fun: pick up a rotary phone, listen to the recording, then key in the day's passcode from the lobby bar. Inside it's chandeliers and Western wallpaper, and the bartenders will build a drink to your taste if you order the Dealer's Choice. Book on OpenTable, since there are no walk-ins once it's full, and dress up a little: no flip-flops or baseball caps.

Cave Society
215 E Dallas Rd, Grapevine, TX 76051, USA
Cave Society is an underground wine lounge in Hotel Vin's basement with a limited number of seats each night, sommelier-guided pours of small-production bottles and light bites. It's a dress-up room with a no-photos rule, which keeps the focus on the person across the table. Reservations are required on OpenTable; it's open Wednesday through Sunday, 5–10 p.m.

Messina Hof Grapevine
201 S Main St, Grapevine, TX 76051, USA
Messina Hof's tasting room is on historic Main Street, with a second-floor balcony over the street, about 40 wines, flights, wine on tap and small plates. It closes early (8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday), so it's best for an afternoon or early-evening date, and happy hour runs Monday through Friday, 4–6 p.m. Book on Tock.

Social Outlaw
2104 E State Hwy 114, Southlake, TX 76092, USA
Social Outlaw is a speakeasy behind unmarked doors off the lobby of The Elmore Hotel, with amber lighting, leather chairs, dark wood and seating arranged for privacy. The music stays low enough to talk over, cocktails run $15–24, and there's real food, from brisket tostadas to lobster corn elote. It's open Thursday through Saturday, with Outlaw Hour from 5 to 7 p.m. Reserve on OpenTable or through the front desk, and dress business casual.

Pop & Pour
5665 Colleyville Blvd Ste 150, Colleyville, TX 76034, USA
Pop & Pour opened in Colleyville Town Center in May 2026 as a small champagne and sparkling-wine lounge, with about 30 seats and an L-shaped marble bar. Order a flight of three 3-ounce pours to share, add a charcuterie board, and know that there are non-alcoholic sparkling options too. Hours vary and private events sometimes close it, so check before you go.
First-Date Bars in Arlington and Denton
A hotel martini bar near the stadiums in Arlington, and two easy picks just off the Denton Square.

Idle Hour Social Club
205 N Collins St, Arlington, TX 76011, USA
Idle Hour is an espresso window by morning and a speakeasy-style martini bar by night, inside the Caravan Court hotel that opened in 2026. Expect soft lighting, lounge seating, a fireplace and martinis from $15 to $19, in a room that feels a world away from the stadium crowds. It's walk-in only, Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m., and a DJ plays in the evenings, so go early if you want to talk.

Miss Angeline's
125 E Oak St, Denton, TX 76201, USA
Miss Angeline's won Best Cocktail Lounge in the Denton Record-Chronicle's Best of Denton 2025, thanks to seasonal cocktail menus and comfortable seating. It shares a patio with East Side next door, so stay inside the lounge for the quieter version. Happy hour runs Monday through Friday, 4–7 p.m.

Steve's Wine Bar
111 Industrial St, Denton, TX 76201, USA
Steve's pours about 50 wines by the glass and around 200 by the bottle, with mostly table service and a few seats at the bar. There's no liquor and no kitchen, though you can bring your own food. It took Best Wine List in Best of Denton 2025. Live jazz plays several times a month, so check the calendar if you want it quiet, and happy hour runs Tuesday through Friday, 2–6 p.m.
If You Want a Livelier Night
For when music and dancing are the point rather than a quiet hour of talking.

LadyLove Lounge & Sound
310 W Seventh St, Dallas, TX 75208, USA
A first date doesn't have to be quiet. LadyLove is built around music and dancing and draws a busy weekend crowd, so pick it when that's the whole point and save the long conversation for the walk out.
How to pick the right kind of date
If conversation is the whole point: Times Ten Cellars, Neighborhood Cellar, or The Wild Detectives on a night with nothing on the calendar. Bowen House, The Old Monk, Atlas and Midnight Rambler can work too, as long as you go early. Outside Dallas, Proper in Fort Worth, Cave Society in Grapevine and Social Outlaw in Southlake are built for talking.
If one of you isn't drinking: The Wild Detectives and La Reunion are the easiest calls, since coffee is a real part of the menu rather than a stand-in. Jettison has a bigger low-ABV and mocktail list than most cocktail bars. In the suburbs, Elaine's in Frisco and KichiBar in Carrollton have zero-proof cocktails, and Pop & Pour pours non-alcoholic sparkling wine. Anywhere else, look at the non-alcoholic options before you commit.
If you want the option to stay for dinner: Sylvestro, Lounge Here, Bowen House or Apothecary. Book seating that matches the plan rather than taking a dinner table and ordering only drinks.
If you'd rather it be lively: LadyLove, or Armoury on a music night.
If you're meeting halfway: Grapevine sits between Dallas and Fort Worth, so Magnum, Cave Society or Messina Hof make an easy middle. Las Colinas does the same for Dallas and the northern suburbs, with Bar Juniper and LRH a few minutes apart.
What a first date at a Dallas bar costs
For a cocktail date, budget roughly $40–$55 for one drink each or $80–$110 for two each, with tax and tip included. That's before food, rides and premium pours. For reference, Clifton Club's specialty cocktails are $17 and its martinis $19. For a cheaper night, plan around a real deal:
| Bar | Deal | When |
|---|---|---|
| Postino Addison | $6 glasses of wine; $25 bruschetta board and bottle | Wine daily until 5 p.m.; board and bottle Mon–Tue after 8 p.m. |
| Leela's (Lowest Greenville) | $7 selected wines and cocktails | Mon–Fri, 4–6 p.m. |
| Clifton Club | $12 selected cocktails | Tue–Sun, 4:30–6:30 p.m. |
| Neighborhood Cellar | $22 flight of three wines | Closes 9 p.m. Mon–Sat, 6 p.m. Sun |
| Parliament | Happy hour | All day Monday, Tue–Sat 5–8 p.m., and whenever it rains |
| Jettison | Happy hour | Daily, 5–6 p.m. |
| The Usual (Fort Worth) | $5 martinis, mules and daiquiris | Tue–Fri 4–7 p.m.; all night Sun and Mon |
| Atlas (Fort Worth) | $7 specialty cocktails | Mon–Fri 4–6 p.m.; all day Wed |
| Thompson's Bookstore (Fort Worth) | $6.50 classic cocktails and wines | All day Mon; Tue–Fri and Sun 3–8 p.m. |
Prices are before tax and tip. Parliament already adds a 20% gratuity, so don't tip twice.
