Best Dallas Bars for People in Their 30s (2026)
Cocktail bars, neighborhood pubs, live music, LGBTQ+ nightlife and a few places to dance.

Run a business in this guide, or want yours added? Get in touch.
These are the best places to go out in Dallas when you still want a real night out, just not one built around people who turned 21 last month. That means good drinks, rooms where you can hear each other, live bands and a few places to actually dance.
None of these are 30-and-over bars, and almost nowhere in Dallas is. Crowds shift by the night and the hour. What the 40 bars here share is the fit: an adult mix and a clear job, whether that's a date, a catch-up, meeting people, live music or dancing. They're organized by neighborhood, not ranked.

Dallas Bars With an Older Crowd
The only explicit 30+ night we found is at LadyLove in Bishop Arts, which runs a 30+ party on the last Saturday of every month, with the age limit enforced from 8pm. Every other bar here draws a mixed adult crowd, and format does the sorting.
Seated, smaller or listening-first rooms tend to pull people who came to stay. Start with The Balcony Club, Bar Colette, Jettison, The Mansion Bar, Rattlesnake Bar and Whiskeys.
What Time to Go Out in Dallas in Your 30s
The most useful rule: the same bar can be two different places at 8pm and at midnight.
Walk-in bars fill early. Parliament, LadyLove and Revelers Hall don't take reservations. At Revelers Hall, groups of three or more should arrive about 45 minutes before a set, with everyone there.
Book where you can. Apothecary recommends reservations on Fridays and Saturdays, and Midnight Rambler puts walk-ins on a waitlist. Bowen House is worth reserving when timing matters.
Early and late are different bars. Double D's is a mellow '70s rec room early and a DJ dance floor from about 10pm. Midnight Rambler brings in DJs on weekends.
Go by the calendar at music bars. The Balcony Club, Adair's, Lee Harvey's, Alexandre's and Round-Up all change with the night's lineup or lessons.
Weeknights are the easy mode. Inwood Tavern skews younger on busy weekend nights, so a weeknight or an early start is the move.
Best East Dallas and Lakewood Bars for People in Their 30s
East Dallas has the deepest bench for this kind of night: two of the city's best cocktail bars, a couple of real dives, a proper pub and a seated music room. Cosmo's and Lakewood Landing are around the corner from each other at Skillman and Live Oak, which makes an easy two-stop night.

Saint Valentine
4800 Bryan St, Dallas, TX 75204, USA
RoamRecs pick. The rare cocktail bar where a fancy martini and a beer and a shot both feel right. Booths, a patio and food worth ordering, like chicken thigh nuggets with burnt scallion ranch, make it easy to settle in for the whole night.

Black Swan Saloon
1623 N Hall St Ste 101, Dallas, TX 75204, USA
Saint Valentine's sibling. The Deep Ellum cocktail legend closed in 2020 and came back here, velvet Clint Eastwood painting and all. Serious drinks in a room that still feels like a dive, with booths built for two or three people talking.

Strangeways
2429 N Fitzhugh Ave, Dallas, TX 75204, USA
Named after the Smiths album, with a big rotating draft list, good cocktails and food that's well above bar standard. A no-fuss neighborhood bar for nights when nobody wants to dress up.

Cosmo's
1212 Skillman St, Dallas, TX 75206, USA
RoamRecs pick. Open since 2000, with stiff drinks, VHS movies playing on the TV and Vietnamese food good enough to make it dinner. Sit next to the TV and you get to pick the movie.

Lakewood Landing
5818 Live Oak St #4334, Dallas, TX 75214, USA
A real dive with burgers, a jukebox, pool and a late-night corn dog. Go when being comfortable with your friends matters more than the drink list. Cosmo's is around the corner for a second stop.

Cock & Bull Neighborhood Pub
6330 Gaston Ave, Dallas, TX 75214, USA
A Lakewood pub since 1997, with red walls, low light and a full menu. The easy call for an unhurried dinner and drinks with an old friend.

The Balcony Club
1825 Abrams Rd Ste B, Dallas, TX 75214, USA
RoamRecs pick. A small music room above the Lakewood Theater since 1988, with jazz, blues, R&B and classic rock on the bill. There's a music charge every night, $20 after 8pm on weekends, and seats are first come, first served. Come to listen, not to catch up.

Goodfriend Beer Garden & Burger House
1154 Peavy Rd, Dallas, TX 75218, USA
A Far East Dallas beer garden with a cedar pergola, plenty of beer and burgers like the Alamo, with brisket, avocado and queso. Best early, with a group that doesn't want a plan. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
Best Lower Greenville and Henderson Avenue Bars for People in Their 30s
This stretch does the easy pub night best, with one of the city's most inventive cocktail bars mixed in. Most of these work as a dinner-and-drinks night or an early start before somewhere louder.

The Old Monk
2847 N Henderson Ave, Dallas, TX 75206, USA
RoamRecs pick. A Henderson Avenue pub since 1998, with a deep beer list, real food and pendant lights salvaged from a European monastery. Works just as well for two at the bar as for six around a table.

The Libertine Bar
2101 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75206, USA
A bar-first Greenville spot with good beer, cocktails and food. An easy start when nobody has committed to dinner yet.

Apothecary
1922 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75206, USA
Two rooms side by side: Archive for classics, spirits and wine, and Alchemy for the experimental stuff, like a drink built on cream cheese and pickles. There's a full dinner menu. Reserve on Fridays and Saturdays. Weeknights, the patio and arrivals before 6:30pm are best for walk-ins.

Leela's Wine Bar - Lowest Greenville
1914 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75206, USA
Wine on tap, cocktails, small bites and thin-crust pizza, plus an upstairs cocktail lounge. A good first stop for friends who want to share food and talk. Make sure you're headed to the Lower Greenville location.

Terilli's Restaurant
2815 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75206, USA
An Italian restaurant and bar with live music and Italchos, thin pizza-dough chips topped like a pizza. The pick when dinner and the night out are the same plan. Check the music schedule if the band matters.
Best Uptown, Turtle Creek and Downtown Bars for People in Their 30s
Uptown and Turtle Creek have the dressed-up rooms: two hotel bars, a jewel-box cocktail lounge and a bar inside an 1874 house. Downtown's best move is underground at Midnight Rambler. Several of these take reservations, and they're worth making on weekends.

Bowen House
2614 Boll St, Dallas, TX 75204, USA
RoamRecs pick. Cocktails in an 1874 wood-frame house, with enough food to turn drinks into dinner without moving. Great for a date or two couples catching up. Reserve if timing matters.

Parliament
2418 Allen St, Dallas, TX 75204, USA
A serious cocktail bar with simple rules: no reservations, no phone calls, no food and a 20% gratuity on every check. Happy hour runs all day Monday and whenever it rains. Bring a small group and some flexibility.

Bar Colette
3699 McKinney Ave #306, Dallas, TX 75204, USA
A small, elegant room in West Village with creative cocktails and a modern sushi menu. Built for a date where the conversation is the point, not a group that wants to roam. Reserve on the website.

Rattlesnake
2121 McKinney Ave, Dallas, TX 75201, USA
The mahogany-walled bar at the Ritz-Carlton, with live music on Fridays and Saturdays. Dress up a little, since smart casual is the floor, and settle in for a polished hotel-bar night.

The Mansion Bar
2821 Turtle Creek Blvd, Dallas, TX 75219, USA
RoamRecs pick. The bar inside the 1925 Mansion on Turtle Creek, with cocktails, wine and seasonal food. Live music runs Friday and Saturday from 8:30pm to midnight with a $15 cover. Smart casual, and the pick for a celebration.

Midnight Rambler
1530 Main St Ste 100, Dallas, TX 75201, USA
RoamRecs pick. An Art Deco cocktail bar in the basement of The Joule, easy to talk in early and DJ-driven on weekend nights. The best middle ground between a quiet bar and a club. Reservations are strongly encouraged, and walk-ins go on a waitlist.
Best Bishop Arts and Oak Cliff Bars for People in Their 30s
Bishop Arts packs the most going-out energy in this guide into a few walkable blocks: a vinyl dance lounge, a jazz hall, a bookstore bar and a strong cocktail room. Tiny Victories and Kilmac's sit near each other on West Davis, a little west of the main strip.

LadyLove Lounge & Sound
310 W Seventh St, Dallas, TX 75208, USA
RoamRecs pick. A red-lit, women-led vinyl lounge with a real dance floor and a line that often wraps the block. The last Saturday of every month is a 30+ night, enforced from 8pm, and most other nights are 21+. No reservations, so go early.

Revelers Hall
412 N Bishop Ave, Dallas, TX 75208, USA
RoamRecs pick. A lively jazz bar where the band is the point, with Sazeracs and red beans and rice on Mondays. No reservations, so groups of three or more should arrive 45 minutes before a set, everyone together. A $6 music charge goes on the tab, plus 20% gratuity after 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Atlas Bishop Arts
408 N Bishop Ave #101, Dallas, TX 75208, USA
A low-lit cocktail bar with Edgar Allan Poe-inspired decor, global cocktails, plates for grazing and a hidden library bar. A good start for two to four before something louder at Revelers Hall.

Tiny Victories
604 N Tyler St, Dallas, TX 75208, USA
A 40-seat neighborhood cocktail bar with a patio, DJs spinning house, disco and cumbia, and patio day parties. A growing group outgrows it fast, so keep it to a few people.

The Wild Detectives - Stories
314 W Eighth St, Dallas, TX 75208, USA
A bookstore with a bar and a full calendar of readings and talks, including a Spanish-language book club and poetry in the backyard. Pick an event night for a low-pressure date or a solo night out.

Kilmac’s
814 W Davis St, Dallas, TX 75208, USA
The Old Monk team's Oak Cliff pub, opened in 2026, with Guinness, cocktails, pizza and a patio bar in a 1966 Airstream. The easy pick when one friend wants a pint and another wants a cocktail.
Best Deep Ellum and Expo Park Bars for People in Their 30s
Deep Ellum is mostly a music neighborhood, and these five earn their spot because the food, the room or the band gives you a reason to be there beyond a bar crawl.

Armoury D.E.
2714 Elm St, Dallas, TX 75226, USA
Cocktails and beer with real Hungarian comfort food. Think goulash and a good drink before you decide where the night goes next.

Ruins
2653 Commerce St, Dallas, TX 75226, USA
Named for Budapest's ruin pubs, with Latin American spirits, food, some of the wildest cocktails in town and the Limbo Room for shows. Walk-ins are fine, and it turns 21+ after 9pm. Check the calendar if a show is part of the plan.

Adair's Saloon
2624 Commerce St, Dallas, TX 75226, USA
A Deep Ellum saloon since 1963, with burgers, cold beer, shuffleboard and live country. Go for the band and the dancing, not a quiet catch-up.

Double Wide Bar
3510 Commerce St, Dallas, TX 75226, USA
Trailer-park kitsch, over-the-top drinks and punk, rock and country bands. Proof that going out in your 30s can still be a little ridiculous. Not to be confused with Double D's.

Whiskeys
835 Exposition Ave, Dallas, TX 75226, USA
A small Expo Park bar with more than 700 bottles of whiskey and flights for the curious. Ask for help, that's half the fun, and check the price before ordering anything rare.
Best Cedars Bars for People in Their 30s
Just south of downtown, The Cedars has two of the most social bars on this list, both better for a loose night with friends than a quiet drink.

Mike’s Gemini Twin Lounge
1906 S Harwood St, Dallas, TX 75215, USA
RoamRecs pick. Pool, leather booths, cocktails and wagyu hot dogs, plus a roped-off pole left from the building's past life. Easy to mingle without it feeling like a pickup scene. It gets crowded, so go early for a booth or the pool table.

Lee Harvey's
1807 Gould St, Dallas, TX 75215, USA
Wood paneling and old beer signs inside, a big yard outside and live bands on the calendar. Better for a group that wants to spend the night outdoors than squeeze into a cocktail room.
Best Design District and West Dallas Bars for People in Their 30s
Two very different bars: one that turns into a dance party, and one tiny cocktail room built around a record player.

Double D's Bar
1404 N Riverfront Blvd, Dallas, TX 75207, USA
RoamRecs pick. A '70s rec room of wood paneling and checkered floors that becomes a dance floor once the DJ gets going, around 10pm. Come early for drinks or late to dance. Reservations run 5–10pm for up to 12, and groups of six or more have a $25-per-person minimum.

Jettison
1878 Sylvan Ave, Dallas, TX 75208, USA
A tiny bar at Sylvan Thirty, next to Houndstooth Coffee, with a record player on the bar and a list heavy on whiskey, mezcal and sherry. Snacks only, so eat first. Best for two.
Best Oak Lawn, Medical District and Inwood Bars for People in Their 30s
Oak Lawn is the center of Dallas's LGBTQ+ nightlife and has some of the most fun nights on this list, from country dance lessons to a two-floor lesbian bar with an upstairs disco. The Grapevine, Stoneleigh P and Inwood Tavern are the casual neighborhood picks.

The Grapevine Bar
2213 Butler St, Dallas, TX 75235, USA
A Dallas favorite reborn in a bigger Medical District home in 2023, with outdoor space, games and an eclectic, welcoming crowd. A good group bar for a night that isn't about a club.

Round-Up Saloon
3912 Cedar Springs Rd, Dallas, TX 75219, USA
RoamRecs pick. A longtime LGBTQ+ country bar where dance lessons make it easy to show up without a partner. Check the calendar for lessons, park in the back lot and go in through the back door.

Sue Ellen's
3014 Throckmorton St, Dallas, TX 75219, USA
Texas's oldest lesbian bar, open since 1989, with two floors, music and an upstairs disco. A lively night with room to move between spaces. Check the schedule for parties and performances.

Alexandre's
4026 Cedar Springs Rd, Dallas, TX 75219, USA
Cocktails, food and live performers since 2004, from rock and jazz to Broadway. It takes reservations, which helps for a date or a planned night. Check the lineup first.

Stoneleigh P
4218 Lemmon Ave, Dallas, TX 75219, USA
A Dallas bar since 1973, on Lemmon Avenue since 2024, with the pool table, jukebox and magazine rack along for the move. Burgers, cold beer and no scene. Skip the old Maple Avenue address.

Inwood Tavern
7717 Inwood Rd, Dallas, TX 75209, USA
A neighborhood bar for more than 60 years, with a big patio. Locals in their 30s and 40s recommend it, but busy weekend nights skew younger, so go on a weeknight or early. 21+.
When Dancing Is the Whole Point
It'll Do is a nightclub, not a bar, so it sits outside the 40 above. It's here for the nights when the dance floor is the entire plan.

It'll Do Club
4322 Elm St, Dallas, TX 75226, USA
A dance club on the far end of Elm Street, built around electronic music and DJ bookings. Pick a specific show, check tickets and entry, and keep your phone off the dance floor, which the club asks. 21+.
