Finding a bar for four is easy. Finding one for 25 is a different problem. The right pick depends less on how big the room is and more on how the night works: are people dropping in whenever they can, does everyone need a seat, and is one person covering the bill?

This guide sorts Dallas bars by the kind of night you're planning, from big patios and breweries to private cocktail rooms and games, with what you can actually book at each one. Group sizes are our suggestions; the capacities and prices come from the venues. Checked October 12, 2026.

For 50 or more, plan it as an event even if the vibe is casual, and tell the venue both how many people you're inviting and how many you expect at once.

What to Settle Before You Send the Invite

Does everyone need a seat? A room listed for 60 may hold 60 people standing and far fewer seated. Ask for the actual seating, especially if food is a big part of the night or older relatives are coming.

Who's paying? Decide between a host tab, a capped budget or everyone paying their own way before you compare quotes. On Rotation's reserved groups run one tab that hosts can split at the end; that isn't the same as separate checks for every guest. If separate tabs matter, ask before you book.

What does "no room fee" mean? A venue can skip the room fee and still set a food-and-drink minimum. CRAFT says exactly that. Ask for the expected total, including tax and gratuity.

What if it rains? For a patio booking, ask whether an indoor backup is held for you or only available if it's free. Truck Yard, Backyard Dallas and the brewery beer gardens are mostly outdoors.

Is the activity actually booked? At a games bar, admission, a table and reserved play time are different things. Cidercade's admission doesn't hold a table, and a Punch Bowl Social dining reservation doesn't include bowling.

Can everyone get there? For a loft, rooftop, tree house or upstairs room, ask about stairs and restrooms. Peticolas is spread over three levels. Share the exact entrance and booking name with the group.

What are the best Dallas bars for a 20-person birthday?
Truck Yard's karaoke Tour Bus holds 20, Electric Shuffle takes up to 20 on a regular booking, and Peticolas' Games Loft fits about 30. For a looser meetup, Westlake Brewing asks for a heads-up at 20–60 and charges nothing unless it holds a specific area.

Can we bring our own food or a birthday cake?
Peticolas lets you bring any caterer or food truck. Oak Cliff Brewing welcomes outside food but not outside drinks, and Cidercade has no kitchen, so bring food or order delivery. Manhattan Project allows cake or dessert only.

Where should a group go if not everyone drinks beer?
Community Beer Co. pours wine, its own seltzer and Society Spirits cocktails alongside its beer. Times Ten Cellars is a winery, and The Woolworth and Midnight Rambler are cocktail-first.
What's the cheapest way to entertain a big group in Dallas?
Cidercade is $12 a person for unlimited games. Bowlounge lanes are $32 an hour before 3pm for up to seven bowlers, about $5 each. Westlake Brewing charges nothing for a group of 20–60 unless it holds a specific area.
