Thanksgiving dinner in Chicago can be a $42 turkey plate, a long family meal in a neighborhood restaurant, or a hotel buffet that becomes the whole day. The right pick depends on the kind of holiday you want, and on what you're willing to spend.

For a classic downtown celebration, start with Tortoise Supper Club. Replay Andersonville is the best complete dinner on a smaller budget, and Big Jones seats solo diners at a communal table. If the meal itself is the event, the hotel feasts at Torali, Adorn and Travelle are three different levels of splurge.

Most restaurants below have announced this year's meals; MingHin and Sun Wah are included on their standing holiday-opening policies. Book early: the ticketed and prepaid dinners (Big Jones, Bistronomic, River Roast) and the set-menu hotel feasts tend to fill first, while the a la carte rooms and the Chinatown and Uptown options are the most forgiving if you're deciding late.

Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26, 2026. Prices and holiday plans were checked in late October and will continue to be updated.

Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab

Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab

60 E Grand Ave, Chicago, IL 60611, USA

Joe's handles both: turkey breast with leg-and-thigh confit, the usual sides and pumpkin chiffon pie, with the regular menu available too. Details: $79.95 adult holiday dinner, $39.95 children. 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Ask which children's rate applies to a five-year-old.

Shaw's Crab House

Shaw's Crab House

21 E Hubbard St, Chicago, IL 60611, USA

A $42 turkey plate with stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and cranberry relish, and that's the whole commitment. Add oysters if the day calls for it. Suits couples, small families and groups with different appetites. Details: $42 turkey plate, otherwise a la carte. 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Appetizers, dessert and drinks are extra.

River Roast

River Roast

315 N LaSalle St, Chicago, IL 60654, USA

Thanksgiving with the Chicago River in the window. The 2026 meal is a set menu with a choice of starter, main and dessert plus shared breads and sides; mains run from smoked turkey to short rib, halibut and mushroom pot pie. Details: $95 adult plus 20% service ($114 before tax and drinks), $35 children 12 and under plus service. The $40 booking payment is a deposit credited to the bill. Two-hour seatings.

Prime & Provisions Steakhouse

Prime & Provisions Steakhouse

La Serre

La Serre

307 N Green St, Chicago, IL 60607, USA

Undercuts most downtown buffets while keeping the variety, and children under six eat free. Details: $85 adult, $29 ages 7-12, 6 and under free. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Parties of six or more have an 18% service charge added.

Neighborhood Thanksgiving dinners in Andersonville, Bucktown and Lincoln Square

These give the holiday more of the restaurant's own personality, from Southern cooking on Clark Street to mole turkey in Bucktown. Also announced in Logan Square: Longman & Eagle has a family-style, whole-bird prix fixe on Resy for November 26, 1 to 5:30 p.m.; no price was posted when we checked.

Big Jones

Big Jones

5347 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60640, USA

Southern cooking in Andersonville, served as three ticketed seatings. Solo diners are seated together at a communal table, the most useful detail in this guide if you're spending the holiday on your own. Details: noon $80, 3 p.m. $90, 6 p.m. $85. Noon and 3 p.m. tickets include tax and gratuity; the 6 p.m. ticket includes gratuity, ask about tax. Drinks extra.

Replay

Replay

5358 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60640, USA

Forty dollars buys a full three-course Thanksgiving, which nothing else on this list matches. Turkey with the usual accompaniments or a mushroom risotto with asparagus and sage stuffing, same seasonal dessert either way, in an arcade bar with some noise in it. Details: $40 for one, $70 for two. Doors 11:30 a.m., kitchen closes 6 p.m. Family hours start at noon, so book noon or later with children.

Manchamanteles

Manchamanteles

Artango Bar & Steakhouse

Artango Bar & Steakhouse

Bistronomic

Bistronomic

A French Thanksgiving for a couple or a small group. Turkey with chestnut stuffing, plus fish, short ribs and a vegetarian homemade tortellini that counts as a proper main. Frequently asked questions

Which Chicago Thanksgiving restaurants offer the best value?
Replay's $40 three-course dinner is the clear winner for a complete meal. La Bella's $59 prix fixe is the downtown equivalent. Shaw's and Woven + Bound each sell a $42 turkey plate, but a plate isn't a package, so add starters and dessert before comparing. For a fuller family feast, La Serre at $85 with children under six free is hard to beat.
Where should a vegetarian or vegan guest book on Thanksgiving in Chicago?
Replay (mushroom risotto) and Bistronomic (homemade tortellini) have confirmed vegetarian holiday mains. The Smith's squash risotto and La Bella's squash ravioli are worth asking about. For vegan diners, Manchamanteles is the practical choice, since its regular menu with vegan dishes runs on Thanksgiving. We haven't found a fully vegan Thanksgiving set menu in Chicago to recommend.
Which Thanksgiving restaurants in Chicago are best for families with young children?
Prime & Provisions and La Serre seat children six and under free; Adorn's free category covers five and under; Wildfire charges $29.95 for ages 12 and under. The cutoffs differ, so check the actual ages at your table. Replay works for families from noon until its 6 p.m. kitchen close.
Where can everyone order from a regular menu on Thanksgiving?
Joe's, Shaw's, The Bellevue, Hawksmoor, Tre Dita and Manchamanteles keep their regular menus on Thanksgiving. La Bella and Grill on 21 run a limited a la carte alongside the set meal. Bistronomic, RPM Italian and Fioretta serve only their holiday menus, whatever their websites show the rest of the year.
Where should someone dining alone go on Thanksgiving in Chicago?
Big Jones, which seats solo guests at a communal table. Replay is the alternative if you'd rather have a casual bar meal priced for one.
When do Chicago Thanksgiving reservations fill up, and what's the fallback?
The ticketed and prepaid dinners (Big Jones, Bistronomic, River Roast) and the popular set menus tend to sell out first. If you're booking late, the hotel feasts have the most capacity, the a la carte rooms (Hawksmoor, Tre Dita, Shaw's, The Bellevue) are the most flexible, and MingHin and Sun Wah take you right up to the day by phone.
What should we know about deposits, surcharges and gratuity?
River Roast adds 20% service to its $95 menu, with the $40 booking payment credited to the bill. Big Jones sells tickets; Bistronomic is prepaid. Several restaurants, including Replay, Fioretta, RPM Italian, Grill on 21, Prime & Provisions and La Serre, add a 3 to 4% surcharge that can be removed on request. Tortoise, Prime & Provisions, La Serre and Fioretta add automatic gratuity for six or more. Read the bill before adding a tip.
