There is a lot to like about hosting Thanksgiving when someone else is handling the turkey. You still get the table full of people, the familiar sides and the leftovers, with considerably less time spent peeling potatoes or fitting three casseroles into one oven. Chicago has a good option for almost every version of that plan: a proper dinner for two, a smoked turkey for a crowd, a Peking duck or a beef Wellington instead of turkey, a vegan Wellington, a hotel feast, or just a few excellent sides to go with the family recipes you actually enjoy making.

These are the places we would start, with meal sizes, ordering dates and the practical details that help you choose. Prices are before tax and delivery unless we say otherwise, and we have included the required fees we could verify. Availability can change before the advertised deadline.

Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26, 2026. All pickup times and deadlines below are in Chicago time.

Best complete Thanksgiving dinners to go in Chicago

One order that takes care of the whole table, from a $25 individual plate at Smoke Daddy or Crosby's to a hotel feast for ten from the Ritz-Carlton. Three of these are not turkey at all (Duck Duck Goat's Peking duck, Swift & Sons' beef Wellington, Honey Butter's fried chicken), The Fresh Market is the grocery-priced option, Catering by Michaels is the one to call for a big group with delivery, and Indus in Highland Park is the North Shore pick. Most of these reheat; Daisies, Duck Duck Goat, Swift & Sons and Michaels all need real oven time on the day.

Delivery-only services worth knowing: Meal Village (no minimum, chilled meals delivered November 25, 2 to 8 p.m., or November 26, 8 to 11 a.m., order by November 23) and Paramount Events (ready-to-serve November office and Friendsgiving menu, $48 per person, ten-person minimum). Still to announce 2026 plans: Smack Dab (sides ordering opens November 1), Handlebar, Virtue, Luella's, Smoque, The Duck Inn and the Publican family.

The Goddess & Grocer

The Goddess & Grocer

1649 N Damen Ave, Chicago, IL 60647, USA

Goddess makes the whole meal feel manageable. You can order for two, six or twelve, and the packages cover the turkey, familiar sides, bread and dessert, so one order takes care of dinner rather than an afternoon of piecing together a shopping list. A separate $85 vegan dinner for two includes a vegetable-and-mushroom pie, mushroom gravy, stuffing, potatoes, green beans, bread and apple crisp. Details: $85 for two, $255 for six, $495 for twelve, plus a required 4.5% hospitality fee ($88.83, $266.48 and $517.28 before tax and delivery). Fully cooked, reheat at home. Order by November 18 at noon. Pickup November 25 or 26 at the branch offered in checkout, or paid delivery in a three-hour window.

Daisies

Daisies

2375 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60647, USA

The 2026 Finish at Home Dinner Kit for Four comes with turkey breast, confit leg and thigh, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, broccoli gratin, cranberry sauce and Parker House rolls. The name is the important part: this is a finish-at-home kit with instructions, so plan for oven time on the day rather than a quick reheat. Pastry chef Leigh Omilinsky's pies are extra, and worth it. Details: $395 on Tock. Pumpkin, apple crumb or salted maple pie $45, gluten-free pies $57, vanilla ice cream $15, wine packs $99 to $150. Pickup November 25 at 2375 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Logan Square, slot chosen on Tock. No posted deadline, kits sell out. North Shore pickup: a separate Tock listing offers November 25, 3 to 5 p.m., at Chalet Home + Garden, 3132 Lake Ave., Wilmette.

Herb-roasted turkey, cornbread dressing, baked macaroni and cheese, cider-braised kale and cranberry sauce give this dinner a clear point of view. It suits a smaller gathering that wants the comfort-food side of Thanksgiving with the cooking largely taken care of. Details: $275 for four to six, ready to heat and serve; dessert not included. Individual sides and a $47.50 Thanksgiving in a Box (serving size not yet posted) are also offered. Order by November 16. Pickup November 25 at 135 N. Read the fine print before ordering: the duck comes raw and marinated, ready to roast, so this is a cooking project, not a reheat. Details: $275 for four, prepaid on OpenTable. Little Goat pies $40 to $48 extra. Pickup November 25, 1 to 2:45 p.m., at 857 W. Fulton Market. No cutoff posted.

The Fresh Market deserves a place for the household whose priority is getting a traditional dinner on the table without spending several hundred dollars. The Essential Holiday Turkey Meal covers turkey breast, potatoes, stuffing, green beans, cranberry relish and gravy; the Traditional Holiday Turkey Meal steps up to a whole cooked turkey with rolls. Each leaves something out (bread and dessert on the smaller one, a vegetable and dessert on the larger), so add those when comparing the final basket. Details: Essential $79.99 for four to six; Traditional $109.99 for eight to ten. Both reheat at home. Pickup slots run November 23 to 26 at 2730 N. Halsted St.; order at least a day ahead, with a final cutoff of November 24 at 1 p.m., while supplies last. Also at the Old Town store, 1233 N. The right call if the part of Thanksgiving you most look forward to is a long, comfortable dinner, and you would be delighted if pasta were involved. The two-person menu combines fall panzanella salad, butternut squash ravioli, turkey breast saltimbocca with whipped potatoes and gravy, and pumpkin cheesecake, so dessert is already covered. Details: Tock lists the package at $115 for two. Some dishes need reheating; instructions included. Order by November 22 at 10 a.m. Pickup November 25, noon to 5 p.m., at 59 W. Hubbard St.

The turkey comes with cranberry sauce, green beans, mashed potatoes and sage stuffing; the vegetarian plate pairs hen-of-the-woods mushroom risotto with asparagus and stuffing. Both include soup, a salad choice and pumpkin bread pudding, so this is a substantial meal rather than a lone turkey plate. Details: $40 for one, $70 for two. Preorder by November 22. A few things that make ordering Thanksgiving takeout easier

Choose the meal size before choosing the restaurant. A good dinner for two can be a better purchase than an inexpensive-looking turkey for ten once you add sides and think about fridge space. For a larger gathering, check whether the advertised portion count applies to the whole dinner or only the main.

Decide how much cooking you want to do. Most of these meals need reheating, and several need actual cooking: Daisies' kit is finished at home, Duck Duck Goat's duck and Swift & Sons' Wellington are raw, Michaels' turkey needs finishing and Hearty Boys' turkeys arrive uncooked. If you have a small oven or a hotel kitchenette, the heating plan should influence the order as much as the menu.

Build the whole basket. A turkey-only price can look excellent until you add stuffing, vegetables, gravy, bread and pie. Conversely, a package with dessert included can be more useful than its higher headline price first suggests. Compare what you will actually serve.
