Best Restaurants at Dallas Love Field Airport (2026)
Where to eat at DAL, ranked, with the picks actually worth your time before a flight

Dallas Love Field is a much easier airport to eat in than DFW. There's one terminal, one security checkpoint and 20 gates on a single concourse, so every restaurant is a short walk from every gate and you can choose on quality instead of settling for whatever is closest.
The short answer: go to Cool River Cafe for a proper sit-down meal, Cantina Laredo for Tex-Mex, and Whataburger if you want something fast and distinctly Texas. The rest of this guide ranks the best restaurants at Love Field airport and matches them to how much time you have, what you're hungry for and which side of security you're on.

How the Love Field Terminal Is Laid Out
Nearly everything worth eating is past security. After the checkpoint you ride an escalator up into the Terminal Stem, where Crú and Maggiano's sit. That leads into the Concession Village, the main food court, home to Cool River, Whataburger, Campisi's and the fast-food counters. From there the concourse splits into an east wing (Cantina Laredo by Gate 6, la Madeleine by Gate 7, Catch One at Gate 9) and a west wing (Turco35 near Gate 12, Jason's Deli by Gate 13). You don't need to pick a restaurant based on your gate.
The 11 Best Restaurants at Dallas Love Field Airport
Love Field has more than two dozen places to eat and drink. These are the ones worth choosing, in order, each with the question it answers best.

Cool River Cafe
Post-security · Concession Village
Concession Village · 6am–10pm · Full service, full bar. Best overall. The closest thing Love Field has to a real restaurant. The menu runs well past food-court fare, with starters, salads, a cheeseburger, a prime rib sandwich, honey-glazed salmon and steaks up to a petite filet, plus cocktails, wine and beer. The original Las Colinas steakhouse closed in 2020, so the airport is the only place the name lives on. Go when you have 45 to 90 minutes and want to sit down and be served. Expect airport pricing, with burgers and sandwiches around $20 and steaks north of $50.

Cantina Laredo
Post-security · By Gate 6
By Gate 6 · 5am–10pm · Full service, full bar. Best Tex-Mex. If you're in Texas and want Tex-Mex before you leave, this is the answer. The Dallas-based chain does tacos, enchiladas, fajitas and carne asada, with guacamole to start and a long margarita list. It opens at 5am, so breakfast before an early flight works too.

Catch One
Post-security · Gate 9
Gate 9 · Mon–Sat 7am–10pm, Sun 10am–10pm. Best seafood. One of the newer arrivals, and the most distinctive menu in the terminal. It's Cajun and Creole seafood, including crab cakes, gumbo and crawfish étouffée, with cocktails that start at breakfast. Pick it when you're tired of the usual airport burger and sandwich lineup.

Crú Food & Wine Bar
Post-security · Terminal Stem
Terminal Stem. Best for wine and a slower layover. The first thing you see at the top of the escalator after security, with wine by the glass and bottle alongside charcuterie, cheese and lighter plates.

Whataburger
Post-security · Concession Village
Concession Village · 5am–10pm · Counter and kiosk. Best quick Texas stop. This isn't the finest cooking at Love Field, but it's one of the most useful quick recommendations for travelers who don't have Whataburger at home, and it still feels distinctly Texas. Breakfast is the strongest play, and the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit is the order regulars point visitors to. A 2025 remodel added self-order kiosks to speed up what is often the longest line in the airport, and this location also sells beer.

Campisi's
Post-security · Concession Village
Concession Village · 6am–10pm · Counter. Best local Dallas pick. Campisi's has been making pizza in Dallas since 1946 and lays claim to the city's first. The longtime Mockingbird Lane restaurant is still just a few minutes from the airport. The airport counter serves the same thin-crust pizza style and gives travelers a real piece of Dallas instead of another national chain.

Maggiano's Little Italy
Post-security · Terminal Stem
Terminal Stem · Full service. Best substantial comfort-food meal. Pasta and Italian-American standards from a brand most travelers already know. It's on the list because it's filling and dependable when you want a longer meal, and it's another Dallas-based name.

la Madeleine
Post-security · By Gate 7
By Gate 7 · 4:30am–10pm · Counter. Best early breakfast. The French bakery cafe that started near SMU in 1983, and one of the first places open in the terminal each morning. Pastries and breakfast are the draw before a dawn flight, and the tomato basil soup is the classic order later in the day.

Jason's Deli
Post-security · By Gate 13
By Gate 13 · 4:30am–7:30pm · Counter. Best lighter meal. The practical pick when you want soup, salad or a sandwich instead of steak, Tex-Mex or something fried. It's fast and familiar, and it opens early. It also closes earlier than most of the terminal, so don't plan on it for an evening flight.

Turco35
Post-security · Near Gate 12
Near Gate 12, west wing · 7am–10pm · Walk-up bar. Best bar by the gates. A bar from former Dallas Stars goalie Marty Turco, set right in the concourse. Think of it as a place to drink where you can also eat, with beer, wine and cocktails alongside snacks like chips and queso, hummus with pita and charcuterie.

Applebee's IHOP
Before security · Lobby by baggage claim
Lobby, between baggage claim and TSA · 6am–8pm · Full service. Best before security. This is the Applebee's IHOP, opened in January 2026 as the first dual-branded Applebee's and IHOP in an airport, with both menus available. It's the strongest meal on the public side of the terminal by a distance.
Where to Eat Before Security at Love Field
Most of Love Field's food is past the checkpoint, so if you're flying, clear security first and eat on the other side.
The exception is Applebee's IHOP. If you're meeting an arriving passenger, seeing someone off, or just want pancakes without going into the concourse, it's a full sit-down restaurant between baggage claim and TSA, open 6am to 8pm. There's also a Dunkin' on the public side for coffee.
Other Places to Eat at Love Field
These round out the terminal. They're fine choices when the line is short or the craving is specific, but they didn't make the ranking. Beyond the four below, Chick-fil-A and Moe's Southwest Grill are in the Concession Village, there's a Starbucks in each wing, and Paciugo Gelato shares a counter with Auntie Anne's at Gate 9.

Dickey's Barbecue Pit
Post-security · Concession Village
Concession Village. Dallas-born chain barbecue, and the only brisket inside the terminal. There are brisket breakfast tacos in the morning.

Pagoda Asian Grill
Post-security · Concession Village
Concession Village. A newer counter from P.F. Chang's and the airport's one Asian option, with rice and noodle plates served fast.

AV8 Bar Cafe
Post-security · Concession Village
Concession Village · 7am–8pm. An under-the-radar spot for a drink and a bite when the bigger bars are full.

Chili's
Post-security · By Gate 16
By Gate 16. The full-service fallback on the west side of the concourse. You know what you're getting, and that's the appeal.
Should You Leave Love Field to Eat?
For a normal pre-flight meal or a short connection, no. There's enough decent food past security that leaving and clearing TSA again isn't worth the hassle.
With four to five hours and plenty of buffer, maybe. Two places close to the airport are worth knowing.

Heim Barbecue on Mockingbird
3130 W Mockingbird Ln, Dallas, TX 75235, USA
3130 W Mockingbird Ln. The nearby barbecue pick that Dallas locals most often send layover travelers to. Order the bacon burnt ends, which Heim is known for.

Maple Landing
5855 Maple Ave, Dallas, TX 75235, USA
5855 Maple Ave. An aviation-themed neighborhood spot built around brisket, burgers, bourbon and beer, with a concept tied to Love Field and Southwest Airlines history.
Updated October 2026. Restaurant hours were last checked in October 2026 and can change with flight schedules.
