Updated October 2026
Los Angeles isn't a city where every neighborhood gives you a dependable dinner at 1 a.m. The best late-night food sits in pockets: Koreatown for stews, barbecue and Korean drinking food, Thai Town for noodles and crispy pork, Hollywood and DTLA for the widest mix, and taco trucks scattered across the city for the nights that end in a parking lot. This guide sticks to central LA, where those pockets are, plus a few worthwhile stops on the Westside and in the Valley.
The options are better than the city's sleepy reputation suggests. You can sit down to bubbling short ribs at 3 a.m., order Brazilian food at 4, or stand beside a spinning trompo while al pastor is carved to order. The hard part is knowing which kitchen is actually open.
Everything below is sorted by when the food stops, not when the room stops pouring. If it's already 2:15 a.m., go straight to the first two sections. If you want a proper 11 p.m. dinner with a table, skip to the last one. Hours shift most after 1 a.m. and on Sundays, so check the same-day schedule before you drive across town.

Food Open After 2 A.M. in Los Angeles
Start here when it's already past 2 and you need more than whatever's left under a heat lamp. Every place in this section serves food later than 2 a.m. on at least some nights.

Bossa Nova Hollywood
7181 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90046, USA
One of the rare LA restaurants where a group can still order a full dinner at 3 a.m. The huge menu runs from feijoada and churrasco to fried plantains, pizzas, pastas and sandwiches, which helps when nobody can agree on anything. Get the picadinho short rib bowl if you need real substance, or split a pizza if this is the last stop of a long night. Only the Sunset location stays open this late. Details: Hollywood · Food until 4 a.m. daily. Best for: A full dinner at 3 a.m.

BCD Tofu House
3575 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90010, USA
A bubbling stone bowl of soondubu makes the best case in the city for eating dinner at 2 a.m. Pick your tofu stew's protein and heat level, add LA galbi if you're especially hungry, and let the rice and banchan fill in the rest. The bright room works just as well for one person off a late flight as for a group coming out of karaoke. Last orders are taken 45 minutes before the doors close, so don't show up at closing time. Details: Koreatown · Last food order about 2:15 a.m. Sun–Thu; 3:15 a.m. Fri–Sat. Best for: Soondubu after the bars

Hollywood Thai
5241 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90027, USA
Thai Town's weekend safety net. This is where you go when everyone wants a real plate of food rather than a snack: pad see ew, pineapple fried rice, Penang duck curry and the kind of salty, chile-heavy dishes that get better as the night goes on. The room takes on a real after-hours energy once the nearby bars and clubs start emptying out. Details: Thai Town · Food until 2 a.m. Mon–Thu; 4 a.m. Fri–Sun. Best for: Noodles and curry after the clubs

Fred 62
1850 N Vermont Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027, USA
A diner that works at almost any stage of the evening. One person orders breakfast, another gets a burger with seasoned curly fries, and the vegan at the table has real choices, from the No Animal burger to vegan tenders. The room feels livelier and more put-together than a generic all-night coffee shop, and nobody will ask why you want French toast after midnight. Details: Los Feliz · Food until 1 a.m. Sun–Wed; 3 a.m. Thu–Sat. Best for: An all-purpose diner

Tatsu Ramen Melrose
7111 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046, USA
A hot bowl of ramen beats another round of drinks as a way to end the night. You order on a tablet and adjust the broth and toppings yourself, and the menu covers rich tonkotsu bowls and a solid vegan ramen. The Melrose location is the one to remember on Friday and Saturday, when it serves until 3. Details: Melrose · Food until 1 a.m. Sun–Thu; 3 a.m. Fri–Sat. Best for: Ramen after a night out

Doomie's Home Cookin'
7363 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046, USA
Vegans in LA don't have to settle for fries after midnight. Everything at Doomie's is plant-based junk food in the best sense: fried "chicken" by the meal or the bucket, burgers, mac and cheese, chocolate and carrot cake, and milkshakes. Weeknights run until 3, and from Friday morning it stays open nearly straight through the weekend. Even meat eaters get it once a plate of fried comfort food lands at 2 a.m. Details: Melrose · Food until 3 a.m. Mon–Thu; nearly nonstop from Friday morning until 3 a.m. Monday. Best for: Vegan comfort food

Suehiro DTLA
400 Main St #102, Los Angeles, CA 90013, USA
The longtime Little Tokyo café, now on Main Street after leaving its original home in 2024. It's a Japanese diner for the table that wants curry, ramen, a donburi and gyoza rather than cocktails pretending to be dinner. Suehiro has the range to handle a mixed group, and it's one of Downtown's surest bets for a full sit-down meal after midnight. Friday and Saturday are the nights that matter, when the kitchen runs until 3. Details: Historic Core · Food until 1 a.m. Sun–Thu; 3 a.m. Fri–Sat. Best for: Japanese diner food

Fat Sal's Hollywood
1154 Highland Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90038, USA
There's nothing restrained about a Fat Sal's sandwich. Expect meat, cheese, fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks and sauce packed into one roll, with structural integrity mattering less with every bite. Take the friend who announces at 2:20 a.m. that they could eat an entire refrigerator. Details: Hollywood · Food until 3 a.m. daily. Best for: Enormous sandwiches

Leo's Tacos
1515 S La Brea Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90019, USA
The spinning trompo is the reason to come. Al pastor gets shaved straight onto small tortillas and finished with pineapple, onion and cilantro, for the right ratio of charred pork to tortilla. Order more than you think you need, eat next to the truck and expect company: the lot at La Brea and Venice turns into a meeting point once the rest of Mid-City shuts down. Details: Mid-City · Food until 2 a.m. Sun–Thu; 3:30 a.m. Fri–Sat. Best for: Al pastor from the trompo

Ave 26 Tacos
353s Alameda St, Los Angeles, CA 90013, USA
A fast, cheap taco stand at Alameda and Fourth, on the edge of Little Tokyo, that's especially handy after a Downtown game, concert or show. The line moves quickly, the tacos are sized for ordering several, and the late crowd gives the plain lot some life. Plan on a second round. Details: Little Tokyo · Food until 2:30 a.m. Sun–Thu; 3:30 a.m. Fri–Sat. Best for: Fast, cheap tacos Downtown

El Chato
5300 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036, USA
A compact taco truck at Olympic and La Brea with a loyal late-night following and small tacos that disappear faster than you'd expect. Order across the menu and share. El Chato only runs Wednesday through Saturday nights, and it's cash only, so hit an ATM first. Details: Mid-City · Food until 1:30 a.m. Wed–Thu; 3:30 a.m. Fri–Sat; closed Sun–Tue. Best for: A weekend taco run

24-Hour Restaurants and All-Night Food in Los Angeles
No midnight math required. Every place here runs around the clock, every day, at the location listed. Canter's is the one partial exception: its dining room goes overnight only on weekends, but the deli counter never closes. If you're near campus, our guide to restaurants and bars near USC covers the rest of that neighborhood.

Sun Nong Dan
710 S Western Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90005, USA
The strongest 24-hour restaurant on this list, and the place to take a group that wants the late meal to be the main event. The galbi-jjim arrives bubbling, loaded with tender short ribs, vegetables and rice cakes, and the torched cheese on top makes it richer still. Eating alone? Keep it calmer with seolleongtang or galbitang. Go to the Western Avenue location; that's the one open around the clock. Details: Koreatown · Open 24 hours daily. Best for: Galbi-jjim with a group

Hodori
1001 Vermont Ave #101, Los Angeles, CA 90006, USA
Hodori isn't about one signature order. It's about having a sprawling Korean diner menu at any hour: soups, bibimbap, noodles, grilled galbi and bulgogi, and pork cutlet all under one roof. Other Koreatown kitchens are more specialized, but few are this flexible at 4 a.m., which makes it the call for families and indecisive tables. Details: Koreatown · Open 24 hours daily. Best for: A huge Korean diner menu

Crispy Pork Gang
5253 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90027, USA
Thai Town's around-the-clock answer to almost any kind of hunger. Crispy pork over rice is the obvious order, and the basil version is the one to get. The menu runs well past it, though, with boat noodles, pad see ew, fried rice, curries and tom yum. It handles a quick solo meal, takeout on the way home or an aggressively spicy second dinner once the rest of the neighborhood has gone dark. Details: Thai Town · Open 24 hours daily. Best for: Thai food at any hour

Original Tommy's
2575 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90057, USA
The original shack, still open at exactly the hour a chili burger starts to sound like a complete meal. Tommy's thick, messy chili goes over burgers, hot dogs and fries, and every version takes napkins and commitment. Eat standing at the counters or in the car, and don't wear anything you're emotionally attached to. Details: Westlake · Open 24 hours daily. Best for: Chili burgers and fries

Carnitas Michoacán
1901 N Broadway, Lincoln Heights, CA 90031, USA
A Lincoln Heights standby for tacos, wet burritos, quesadillas and super nachos that seem designed for the end of a long night. The draw is speed, value and knowing the kitchen will still be running when nothing nearby is. The salsa roja has enough kick to wake up anyone starting to fade. Details: Lincoln Heights · Open 24 hours daily. Best for: Tacos and loaded nachos

Astro Family Restaurant
2300 Fletcher Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90039, USA
A real round-the-clock diner, with pink leather booths, a broad American menu and no expectation that everyone at the table eats the same meal. Pancakes, omelets, burgers and sandwiches are all on offer. Astro earns its spot on the nights that call for coffee and a booth rather than another crowded counter, and it's an easy stop from Silver Lake, Echo Park, Los Feliz or Atwater Village. Details: Silver Lake · Open 24 hours daily. Best for: A classic diner booth

El Huero
3000 S Figueroa St, Los Angeles, CA 90007, USA
A 24-hour drive-through near USC serving Mexican and American fast food without making you leave the car. Burritos, tacos, tortas and breakfast plates cover the basics, and loaded fries and nachos handle bigger appetites. There's a patio if you'd rather stop and eat. Details: University Park · Open 24 hours daily. Best for: Drive-through Mexican food

California Donuts
3540 W 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90020, USA
Sometimes the right 3 a.m. meal is coffee and a doughnut. California Donuts keeps all the classics next to over-the-top creations covered in cereal and candy, so the case works as well for an assorted box as for one glazed doughnut eaten on the spot. It's an easy last stop once the group has already had dinner. Details: Koreatown · Open 24 hours daily. Best for: Doughnuts at 3 a.m.

Canter's Deli
419 N Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036, USA
Canter's dining room no longer runs all night every night, but it's still one of the city's best weekend overnight meals. Hot pastrami, matzo ball soup, potato pancakes and a black-and-white cookie all make sense well after midnight, especially when everyone wants a booth and table service. On weeknights the deli and bakery counter keeps going for takeout, so you can still leave with pastrami, rye or rugelach at 3 a.m. It closes for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Details: Fairfax · Dining room until 11:30 p.m. Sun–Thu, overnight Fri–Sat; takeout counter 24 hours daily. Best for: Pastrami and matzo ball soup
Late-Night Food Until 1 or 2 A.M.
These cover midnight and the first stretch of the morning. Some run late every night; others save their latest hours for the weekend, so check the cutoff on each card before you go. Jones Hollywood and Canter's also make our guide to the best old-school Hollywood restaurants in Los Angeles, and Hinano is in our beach bars guide.

Dan Sung Sa
3317 W 6th St, Los Angeles, CA 90020, USA
One of the best places in LA to make late dinner the main event of the night. The dim, graffiti-scrawled room feels like an old Korean drinking den, and the menu is built for covering the table: grilled skewers, tteokbokki, corn cheese, chicken wings and seafood or kimchi pancakes. Come with enough people to order widely, and expect it to be loud. Details: Koreatown · Open until 2 a.m. daily. Best for: Korean bar food with friends

DwitGolMok
3275 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90010, USA
Everyone calls it DGM, and it leans all the way into the Korean soju-bar experience. The walls are covered in marker scrawl, the energy builds as the night goes on, and the food is the kind you order next to cold beer or peach soju: seafood pancake, spicy fried chicken, tteokbokki and other shareable anju. It's a strong backup when Dan Sung Sa has a wait. Details: Koreatown · Open until 2 a.m. Tue–Sun; closed Mon. Best for: A rowdy soju-bar dinner

Origin Korean BBQ
3465 W 6th St #20, Los Angeles, CA 90020, USA
Korean barbecue after midnight without giving up on meat quality or service. Origin is brighter and more polished than Koreatown's old-school drinking dens, staff help with the grill, and every meal comes with corn cheese, steamed egg and a brisket soybean-paste stew with ramen. Book it for a birthday group or a full dinner that simply started late. Details: Koreatown · Open until midnight Sun–Thu; 2 a.m. Fri–Sat. Best for: Late Korean barbecue

Sakana Sushi Lounge
321 W 9th St, Los Angeles, CA 90015, USA
A rare place to sit down to a real sushi dinner at 1:30 a.m. instead of settling for a delivery roll. Sakana covers sashimi, nigiri, specialty rolls and warm plates, with crispy tuna and Japanese croquettes for anyone who wants more than raw fish. It runs as a lounge, with a DJ on Fridays and a patio, which suits dates and small groups coming from a Downtown show. Details: DTLA · Open until 2 a.m. daily. Best for: Sushi after midnight

LA Cafe
639 S Spring St Suite 116, Los Angeles, CA 90014, USA
The dependable utility player of Downtown late-night food. Breakfast, burgers and paninis, salads, tacos and wraps, and a bakery case can handle almost any craving. It's not worth crossing the city for one special dish, but it's exactly the place to remember when you're already in DTLA and need food at 1:20 a.m. Details: Historic Core · Open until 2 a.m. daily. Best for: A broad menu in DTLA

New York Chicken & Gyro
11419 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90025, USA
A fast, filling Westside stop built around halal chicken and gyro platters over basmati rice, gyros in warm pita and plenty of the house white sauce. Portions stretch into tomorrow's lunch, and the food travels well if eating at home sounds better. This West LA counter stays open until 2 from Thursday through Sunday. Details: West LA · Open until midnight Mon–Wed; 2 a.m. Thu–Sun. Best for: Halal chicken and gyro plates

Jones Hollywood
7205 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90046, USA
Dim light, deep booths, classic rock and Italian-American comfort food make Jones feel like a real night out rather than an emergency meal. Spaghetti and meatballs, served in a cast-iron pan, is the defining order, with thin-crust pizza on the dinner menu. Book ahead even late, and take the 1 a.m. kitchen cutoff seriously; the room keeps pouring until 2. Bring a card or cash, since mobile pay isn't accepted. Details: West Hollywood · Kitchen until 1 a.m. daily; bar until 2 a.m. Best for: Spaghetti in a dark booth

Hinano Cafe
15 Washington Blvd, Venice, CA 90292, USA
A Venice institution that gets the appeal of a simple cheeseburger and a cold beer. The room is genuinely worn-in, not styled to look that way, and live bands on weekend afternoons can make it much livelier than the average burger stop. It's a beer-and-wine bar, 21 and over only, so come for the burger rather than a long menu. Details: Venice · Kitchen until 1 a.m. daily. Best for: A burger near the beach

Pink's Hot Dogs
709 N La Brea Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90038, USA
Pink's is famous, touristy and sometimes stuck with a line longer than the meal deserves. It's also an enduring LA experience and a sure thing for a chili dog after a show or a movie. Keep the order simple, add fries or onion rings, and remember the latest hours are Friday and Saturday only. Details: Hollywood · Open until midnight Sun–Thu; 2 a.m. Fri–Sat. Best for: A classic chili dog

Garage Pizza
4339 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90029, USA
Silver Lake's no-fuss late-night slice counter. Garage matters most Thursday through Saturday, when slices, including vegan ones, keep going until 2, so you don't have to drive toward Hollywood or Koreatown. Get a couple and eat them right away; this is a quick post-bar stop, not a place to linger. Details: Silver Lake · Open until 11 p.m. Sun–Wed; 2 a.m. Thu–Sat. Best for: Pizza by the slice

House of Pies
1869 N Vermont Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027, USA
The classic answer for a table where one person wants breakfast, another wants chicken pot pie and everyone ends up wanting dessert. Breakfast runs all day, the pie case holds dozens of fruit and cream pies, and the dining room has the comfortable, slightly time-warped feel a late-night diner should have. Ordering a few slices for the table is more fun than picking one. Details: Los Feliz · Open until 1 a.m. Sun–Thu; 2 a.m. Fri–Sat. Best for: Breakfast and a slice of pie

Kouraku
314 E 2nd St, Los Angeles, CA 90012, USA
A compact Little Tokyo institution and one of the oldest ramen shops in the country. Shoyu or miso ramen, chahan, gyoza and the beef curry rice make an easy comforting dinner with no ceremony. Its hours are earlier than its old all-night reputation suggests, so treat Kouraku as a Friday or Saturday after-midnight option, not a 3 a.m. plan. Details: Little Tokyo · Food until about 11:45 p.m. Sun–Thu; 1:40 a.m. Fri–Sat. Best for: Ramen and curry rice

India's Restaurant
4366 Fountain Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90029, USA
A late-night Indian kitchen with plenty for vegetarians next to the meat dishes. Saag paneer, dal makhani and chana masala share the menu with tikka masala, tandoori, biryani and lamb vindaloo, and the meats are halal. It's especially handy for delivery, but the dining room works for a quiet meal once the nearby bars thin out. Details: East Hollywood · Open past midnight nightly. Best for: Curries and vegetarian options
Late Dinner in Los Angeles: Kitchens Open Until Midnight
These aren't emergency 2 a.m. stops. They're for a real 10:30 or 11 p.m. dinner, whether that means a proper table on Sunset, a polished room in the Valley or a bar kitchen that cooks more than snacks. Tiny's is also on our list of the best first-date bars in Los Angeles.

Tiny's Hi-Dive
12012 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90064, USA
A Chicago-leaning neighborhood bar with food substantial enough to make Tiny's the whole evening rather than the stop after dinner. Order wings, a smash burger, a hot Italian beef, a Chicago dog or a cheesesteak, plus tater tots for the table, and there are vegan dog swaps too. The bar keeps going until 2, but get your food order in by midnight. Details: West LA · Kitchen until midnight daily; bar until 2 a.m. Best for: Bar food that counts as dinner on the Westside

Casaléna
22160 Ventura Blvd, Woodland Hills, CA 91364, USA
The Valley's late-night answer when the evening calls for a good-looking dining room instead of a diner or a drive-through. Once dinner service ends, a dedicated late menu takes over with a martini and fries, spicy vodka lumaconi, spaghetti pomodoro, a wagyu burger and a crispy chicken sandwich. It works for a late date or dinner after an event. Details: Woodland Hills · Late-night menu until midnight Sun–Thu; 1 a.m. Fri–Sat. Best for: A polished Valley dinner

Linden
5936 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028, USA
A real restaurant for the night when dinner starts at 10:45 and nobody wants to compromise. Named for Linden Boulevard, which runs through Brooklyn and Queens, the menu leans Southern with Caribbean touches: jerk duck over rice-and-peas risotto, an oxtail pie with plantain chutney and herbed duck fat fries. The low-lit room suits dates and small groups, and it's a short walk from the Hollywood Palladium. Reserve ahead, especially on Friday and Saturday. Details: Hollywood · Open until midnight Tue–Sat; closed Sun–Mon. Best for: A proper 11 p.m. reservation
