Los Angeles doesn't have one brewery district. It has a handful of strong beer neighborhoods with a lot of freeway in between, and the fastest way to waste a Saturday is treating the city like one long crawl.
If you're new to LA beer, start at Union Station and walk to Chinatown, where Everywhere, Highland Park Brewery and Homage can carry a whole afternoon without a car. For the best beer, head to Torrance, where Monkish, Smog City, Cellador and HopSaint sit a short ride apart. Long Beach has the deepest bench for a full day, and Inglewood and Hawthorne are the easy cluster near LAX.
Some breweries made the list because the beer alone is worth the drive. Others pair very good beer with a real kitchen, a great patio or a room that keeps a mixed group happy for hours. The guide covers LA proper and the most useful corridors in LA County. Orange County is out of scope. Common Space also opens at 10 a.m. for every NFL Sunday; see our guide to LA's NFL bars.

Breweries in Central LA, Northeast LA and Mid-City
The Union Station and Chinatown cluster is the easiest place to start, and the Arts District and Glendale are short rides away. If the night keeps going, Death & Co and Everson Royce Bar are a short walk from Arts District Brewing, and both are in our guide to the best first-date bars in Los Angeles.

Highland Park Brewery
1220 N Spring St, Los Angeles, CA 90012, USA
If we could send you to only one LA brewery, it'd be this one. Highland Park is just as convincing with a crisp pils as with a hop-forward West Coast IPA, so the tap list feels broad without wandering. The Chinatown taproom has a kitchen, plenty of seating and a patio across from LA State Historic Park, where dogs are welcome. Expect a short wait for a table on weekend afternoons.

Homage Brewing
1219 N Main St, Los Angeles, CA 90012, USA
Almost across the street from Highland Park, Homage pours saisons, crisp lagers, hoppy beer and its own natural wine. The kitchen turns out smash burgers, masa-battered wings and fish tacos, which makes this the best dinner pick on the block. Later in the evening the hi-fi system and dance floor take over, so come early for a calmer meal or stay for the DJs.

Everywhere at Union Station
800 N Alameda St, Los Angeles, CA 90012, USA
Everywhere opened in May 2026 inside Union Station's restored Fred Harvey dining room, one of the best rooms in the city to drink a beer in. It opens at 7 a.m., pours house beer alongside a pub menu, and the tucked-away Streamliner cocktail bar is open Thursday through Sunday. Start a car-free afternoon here, then walk up to Chinatown.

Monkish Brewing (Echo Park)
1487 Sunset Blvd Unit K, Los Angeles, CA 90026, USA
This small Sunset Boulevard outpost puts Monkish within reach of central LA, which is handy before dinner or a Dodgers game. The hazies draw the crowds, but the pilsners, saisons and Belgian-leaning beers deserve your second pour. Most of the seating is outside, and it fills up fast on weekends.

Benny Boy Brewing & Cider House
1821 Daly St, Los Angeles, CA 90031, USA
Benny Boy is the place where the brewery itself is the plan. There's a big backyard with fire pits and communal tables, house beer, dry California cider, and food pop-ups that change through the week, so check the schedule. Dogs are welcome in the backyard, and the whole place is 21 and over.

Frogtown Brewery
2931 Gilroy St, Los Angeles, CA 90039, USA
Frogtown is an easygoing neighborhood brewery near the LA River, a natural stop on a bike ride through Elysian Valley. Kinky Blonde is the easy starter, and the experimental side runs to tiki-style IPAs like Painkiller. Food trucks park in the beer garden, and Frogtown First Fridays bring free, all-ages live music and vendors once a month.

Solarc Brewing
3505 N Eagle Rock Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90065, USA
Solarc doesn't do the usual IPA-and-lager lineup. It specializes in gruit, an old style bittered with herbs and botanicals instead of hops, and pours fermented tea and natural wine alongside. The mosaic-filled room hosts improvised music and community nights most evenings, with a small kitchen and soup pop-ups for food. Weekday hours start at 6 p.m.; come curious and share pours.

Paperback Brewing
422 Magnolia Ave, Glendale, CA 91204, USA
Paperback pours in a World War II-era airplane hangar decorated with pulp-novel art, and the beer holds up its end. West Coast IPA is the smart first order, with hazies and a clean lager behind it. Grab a smashburger from the Bun & Blanket truck out front, and if you want a second stop, Glendale Tap is next door.

Brewyard Beer Company
906 Western Ave, Glendale, CA 91201, USA
Brewyard built its lineup around the California common, a Gold Rush-era style made with lager yeast at ale temperatures, and its Jewel City amber is the one to try first. Filipino and Japanese influences show up in beers like an ube IPA and a rice lager. The taproom is tucked into an industrial park by the Western Avenue bridge, and it suits a conversation better than a party.

Boomtown Brewery
700 Jackson St, Los Angeles, CA 90012, USA
Boomtown is a big, mural-covered warehouse taproom with daily food vendors, bar games, live music and DJ nights. Outside food is fine and dogs are welcome. Check the calendar before you go, because a quiet afternoon and a show night feel like two different places.

Arts District Brewing Company
828 Traction Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90013, USA
More beer hall than tasting room, Arts District Brewing has around 30 taps, a full cocktail bar, pub food, Skee-Ball and ping-pong, and it stays open later than most taprooms. It's the easy answer for a big group with mixed tastes. When the main room gets loud, there's a small cocktail lounge tucked inside the compound.

Arrow Lodge Brewing
950 E 3rd St #1A, Los Angeles, CA 90013, USA
Covina's Arrow Lodge runs this laid-back taproom a short walk from Arts District Brewing. West Coast and hazy IPAs are the specialty, and its Berliner weisse and stouts have their own following. The adjacent lot validates two hours of parking, which is rare for the neighborhood.

All Season Brewing
800 S La Brea Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036, USA
All Season fills a Streamline Moderne Firestone tire building on La Brea with a huge indoor-outdoor room, house beer, cocktails, frozen drinks and Chicas Tacos in the back. Its real advantage is location: it works before a movie, after a museum on Wilshire or any time friends won't drive to a beer neighborhood. It also opens early for big soccer matches.

Breweries on the Westside, in Inglewood and the South Bay
Inglewood and Hawthorne are the easy cluster near LAX, and Torrance has the strongest beer in the county. Flying out? Our guide to the best restaurants at LAX covers every terminal.

Three Weavers Brewing Company
1031 W Manchester Blvd A-B, Inglewood, CA 90301, USA
Inglewood's longtime brewery has a big, low-key taproom with picnic tables, board games and a patio, and you're welcome to bring your own food. Expatriate, the flagship West Coast IPA, is a safe first pour. Leashed dogs are welcome, and it's the most convenient stop for a layover or a SoFi pregame.

Los Angeles Ale Works
12918 Cerise Ave, Hawthorne, CA 90250, USA
LA Ale Works pours around 25 house beers, from light lagers to sours, and its shaded turf beer garden is built for staying a while. A different food truck pulls up each day, and dogs are welcome. Common Space and Far Field are a few minutes away if you want to keep going.

Common Space Brewery
3411 W El Segundo Blvd, Hawthorne, CA 90250, USA
Common Space is built for groups, with a big warehouse taproom, an outdoor beer garden, screens for game days and food trucks most of the time. Kids and dogs are welcome throughout. The beer runs from crisp, easy styles to ambitious hop-forward releases, so beer fans and casual drinkers both have plenty to order.

Far Field Beer Co.
4471 W Rosecrans Ave, Hawthorne, CA 90250, USA
Far Field turned a former auto body shop into an open, airy taproom with space inside and out. The range is wide, from clean lagers and West Coast IPAs to Berliner weisse and barrel-aged sours, and the Infrared red ale is the one to order first. Vendor markets and food pop-ups keep weekends lively.

El Segundo Brewing Company
140 Main St, El Segundo, CA 90245, USA
Come here for crisp, assertive West Coast IPA rather than soft hazies. The Main Street taproom is small and neighborhood-focused, with food vendors on many Friday and Saturday afternoons and plenty of restaurants a few steps away. It's an easy, quick stop from LAX.

Firestone Walker Propagator
3205 Washington Blvd, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292, USA
Firestone Walker's Venice taproom pairs a gastropub menu with the full Firestone lineup, Barrelworks wild ales and small-batch beers brewed only here on its pilot system. It feels polished rather than improvised. When dinner matters as much as the beer, it's one of the most reliable picks on the Westside.

Santa Monica Brew Works
1920 Colorado Ave Ste c, Santa Monica, CA 90404, USA
Santa Monica's own brewery shares its space with Emmy Squared, so Detroit-style pizza is a big part of the draw. The beer garden handles birthday groups and post-beach crowds well. The 17th St/SMC stop on the Metro E Line is a short walk away.

Monkish Brewing (Torrance)
20311 S Western Ave, Torrance, CA 90501, USA
The original Monkish is the South Bay's beer pilgrimage. Its aromatic hazy IPAs drive the lines, but the Belgian-style beers it started with, plus farmhouse ales and pilsners, show how much range is here. Food trucks cover meals and dogs are welcome. An ordinary afternoon is much calmer than a release day.

Smog City Brewing
1901 Del Amo Blvd, Torrance, CA 90501, USA
Smog City has been a South Bay anchor for years, with about 20 taps covering hop-forward beer, lagers, saisons and stouts. The industrial taproom and patio feel more relaxed than Monkish around the corner, and food trucks handle meals. Cellador's barrel house is right next door.

Cellador Ales
1879 Del Amo Blvd, Torrance, CA 90501, USA
Cellador ferments every beer in oak barrels, and it's one of the best sour and wild-ale producers in Southern California. The barrel house and bottle shop sits next to Smog City and keeps short hours, Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 6 p.m., so make it an early stop on a Torrance day. On the first Saturday of each month, Syndicate nights pour a special tap list that includes unreleased beers.

HopSaint Brewing Company
5160 W 190th St, Torrance, CA 90503, USA
HopSaint is a full brewpub with a New Orleans-leaning menu of barbecue, gumbo and dishes from a wood-fired oven, plus about 16 house beers. The beer holds its own, but the food makes it the right last stop after Monkish and Smog City. For a pint without the meal, HopSaint at the Ditch on Del Amo is its casual, dog-friendly taproom.
Breweries in Long Beach and Signal Hill
Long Beach has enough good breweries for a full day, and two of them sit a few blocks apart on Atlantic Avenue. For beer with the water in view, Belmont Brewing and Ballast Point are covered in our guide to the best beach bars in Los Angeles.

ISM Brewing & Kitchen
210 E 3rd St Unit A, Long Beach, CA 90802, USA
ISM pairs destination-level beer with a real restaurant and a big patio on the Promenade. The West Coast IPA is as sharp as any in the county, and the kitchen's deviled Scotch egg is worth ordering. Start a Long Beach day here, or make it your only stop.

Beachwood Brewing & Distilling
3630 Atlantic Ave, Long Beach, CA 90807, USA
Beachwood is one of Southern California's most respected brewing names, and its Bixby Knolls location adds house-made gin, vodka and rum to the beer list. Between the kitchen and the cocktail program, it's an easy place to spend a whole evening. Ambitious Ales is a few blocks up Atlantic.

Ambitious Ales
4019 Atlantic Ave, Long Beach, CA 90807, USA
Ambitious puts unexpected twists on classic styles and keeps plenty of hop-forward releases on tap. The taproom itself is compact, but a front patio and a back beer garden give it room to breathe. It's family- and dog-friendly, and Beachwood is just down the street.

Trademark Brewing
233 E Anaheim St, Long Beach, CA 90813, USA
Trademark is built for groups, with 30 taps, a large indoor-outdoor taproom and a big biergarten. Food trucks, more than a dozen pinball machines and plenty of room keep it lively on an ordinary afternoon. Kids and dogs are welcome.

Long Beach Beer Lab
518 W Willow St, Long Beach, CA 90806, USA
Beer Lab is a brewery and a sourdough bakery under one roof, so the beer, bread and pizza all come out of the same fermentation-obsessed operation. Expect tart farmhouse ales and other experiments next to cleaner lagers and IPAs. Pick it when the group cares about food as much as beer.

Ten Mile Brewing
1136 E Willow St, Signal Hill, CA 90755, USA
Family-run Ten Mile leans into traditional styles, with a wall of tanks set aside just for lagers, and its Neapolitan-style pizza kitchen is worth the trip on its own. The big outdoor patio is dog-friendly, and families are a regular sight. It's closed Mondays.
Breweries in the San Fernando Valley
The Valley has fewer standout taprooms than the other corridors, so we kept this list short. Both picks are in the NoHo Arts District and easy to pair.

Lawless Brewing Company
5275 Craner Ave, North Hollywood, CA 91601, USA
North Hollywood's first brewery fills a former film-equipment rental house about two blocks from the NoHo Metro station. The 16 house taps run from easy lagers to IPAs, sours and Belgian styles, and food trucks and pop-ups come through every night. Kids and dogs are welcome, and it's a go-to for Dodgers games.

Where the Creatures Sleep by Shadow Grove
5249 Lankershim Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91601, USA
San Fernando's Shadow Grove Brewing opened this NoHo Arts District taproom and kitchen in May 2026. Every beer is named for a creature from the brewery's own story, sketches of them cover the brick walls, and the scratch kitchen turns out house-ground burgers with good vegan and gluten-free options. Darts and trivia round it out, and the NoHo Metro station is a short walk away.
