Best Happy Hours in Washington, DC (2026)
The DC happy hours worth planning around: oyster bars, martini lounges, pizza deals and windows that run late or all weekend.

A good happy hour should make the whole evening better, not just knock a dollar off a drink you wouldn't otherwise order. In DC that can mean dumplings and half-price cocktails in Mount Vernon Triangle, oysters at a proper downtown bar, or a martini deal that's still running when you finally get out of work.
There are 38 spots here, from Georgetown and Penn Quarter to Capitol Hill, Navy Yard and The Wharf, each with the days, hours and seating rules it posts. Schedules were checked in October 2026. Menus and prices change often, so we've left specific prices out. If one deal is the whole reason you're going, give the venue's menu a quick look first.

DC Happy Hour Tips
Sit at the bar. Many of these deals only apply at the bar or in the bar area, including Doi Moi, Perry's, Pearl Dive, Osteria Morini, Jaleo, The Smith, Joe's and Hank's. A dining-room reservation doesn't get you the happy hour menu. Lulu's and The Salt Line are the exceptions.
Read the fine print. "Mini" cocktails, half sandwiches, house drinks only and oyster minimums are all common. They're still good deals, as long as you know what you're ordering.
Check the bill before you tip. Several DC restaurants add a service fee or automatic gratuity, and they don't all mean the same thing. Some replace the tip and some don't. The menu or check will say.
Check before you go. We checked every schedule in October 2026, but happy hours change. If one deal is the reason for the trip, look at the venue's menu that day.
