The Olana Wedding Cost (2027): Prices & Capacity
The Olana rents by the day, from $10,500 midweek to $22,000 on a Saturday, with in-house catering and a vendor package on top. Here’s what the full bill looks like, how 250 guests fit and where everyone sleeps.

The Olana is a French-inspired mansion on 40 acres in Hickory Creek, about 35 minutes north of Dallas, with a domed entrance hall, a marble-floored ballroom, a Library, a Drawing Room and a Chanel-inspired dressing suite. The number that defines it is the rental: $22,000 on a Saturday, $16,000 on a Friday or Sunday and $10,500 Monday to Thursday, for up to 250 guests.
The catch is that the rental is only the first of four lines. Catering and bar are in-house and priced per guest, a vendor package sits on top, and nobody sleeps on site. This guide covers what a full wedding costs, how the rooms work at your guest count, what happens in the rain and where to put everyone afterward.

The RoamRecs Take
You pay for the house here, and it earns the money. The day moves through rooms with real character: getting ready in the dressing suites, portraits under the dome, drinks in the Library and Drawing Room, dinner in the reception rooms. That’s a very different proposition from a hotel ballroom dressed to look European, and it means you can spend less on décor than you would at a blank venue. Light it well, keep the florals focused, and let the architecture do the work.
Is it good value? On a Saturday at 150 guests, a realistic all-in day lands somewhere between $55,000 and $90,000 before guest travel, which is fair for the setting in North Texas. The weekday rate is the real opportunity: a Thursday wedding saves $11,500 on rental alone, and the house looks exactly the same. Where the value weakens is the package structure. Catering and bar are in-house, and the vendor package is a minimum on every date, so couples who already have a caterer, a photographer and a florist they love will pay for services they don’t use.
The sweet spot is 120 to 180 guests. The 250 maximum is real, but dinner spreads across connected rooms instead of one big hall, so above about 200 the sightlines for speeches and the space for a band need testing on a floor plan. Couples who want a lodging-inclusive weekend, their own caterer, or more than 250 guests should look at Knotting Hill Place or a hotel like Hotel Crescent Court instead.

How Much Does a Wedding at The Olana Cost?
The rental buys the ceremony and reception spaces, two getting-ready suites, in-house tables, chairs and linens, a one-hour rehearsal, planning services and setup and teardown of the agreed floor plan. Food, drink and the vendor package are added per wedding, and service charge and sales tax apply on top.
| Item | 2027 figure | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Rental, Monday to Thursday | $10,500 | Ceremony and reception spaces |
| Rental, Friday or Sunday | $16,000 | |
| Rental, Saturday | $22,000 | Peak day |
| Catering | $56 to $97 per guest | In-house only; + 22% service charge and sales tax |
| Bar | $31 to $52 per guest | In-house only; + 22% service charge and sales tax |
| Vendor package | $9,550 to $18,750 | Minimum spend on every date |
| Rental deposit | Refundable | Returned within 15 business days after the event |
Keep the vendor package separate from food and drink when comparing quotes. It’s a minimum spend on vendor services such as planning, flowers, cake, photography and a DJ, and it doesn’t count toward catering or bar. Hiring an outside photographer doesn’t automatically reduce it, so check what your tier includes before booking anyone independently.
Cancellation terms are strict. Payments aren’t refunded if you cancel, moving the date counts as a cancellation, and a cancellation fee applies on top. Wedding insurance is worth buying the week you sign.
Estimated Wedding Budget
These are RoamRecs planning ranges for a Saturday wedding, including service charge and sales tax on food and drink, before guest accommodation, travel, attire and rings. A Friday or Sunday takes $6,000 off each range; Monday to Thursday takes off $11,500.
| Guests | Venue rental | Typical total |
|---|---|---|
| 100 | $22,000 | $48,000 to $75,000 |
| 150 | $22,000 | $55,000 to $90,000 |
| 200 | $22,000 | $60,000 to $100,000 |
| Category | Indicative range, 150 guests |
|---|---|
| Venue rental (Saturday) | $22,000 |
| Catering, with service and tax | $11,000 to $19,000 |
| Bar, with service and tax | $6,000 to $10,500 |
| Vendor package | $9,550 to $18,750 |
| Ceremony music, upgrades and extras | $3,000 to $10,000 |
| Guest shuttles | $1,500 to $4,000 |
| Officiant, license and beauty | $1,500 to $4,000 |
The line couples underestimate here is the vendor package, because it looks optional on the price sheet and isn’t. The second is the bar: the gap between the lowest and highest bar tier is $3,150 at 150 guests before service and tax, and the open-bar hours you actually want usually sit toward the top.
Capacity and Event Spaces
A wedding here moves from outside to inside: vows on the lawn in front of the façade, drinks in the house, then dinner and dancing indoors.
| Space | What it’s for | Capacity |
|---|---|---|
| Front Lawn | Outdoor ceremony facing the façade | Up to 250 seated |
| Ballroom | Indoor ceremony or rain plan | Up to 250 seated |
| Solarium and reception rooms | Dinner and dancing | Up to 250; venue plan shows 150 at rounds |
| Library and Drawing Room | Cocktail hour | Standing, split across two rooms |
| Back Lawn | Outdoor cocktails and portraits | Plan by plan |
| Dressing suites and Tea Room | Getting ready and portraits | Wedding party |
The usual flow is ceremony on the Front Lawn, cocktails in the Library and Drawing Room, then dinner and dancing in the reception rooms. The venue’s own 150-guest layout puts round tables across connected rooms with the sweetheart table, music and cake in the main room, which works well at that size. At 200 and above, ask for a drawn plan with the dance floor and band in place before you sign.
What Is the Rain Plan at The Olana?
The rain plan is one of the strongest arguments for The Olana in North Texas. The ceremony moves into the Ballroom, which seats the full 250, and the reception was always indoors, so a wet day changes the setting for the vows but not the shape of the evening. The question to settle is whether cocktails and the ceremony room overlap with the dinner set-up at your count, and where guests wait if a room has to be flipped. A lawn tent has been used for past weddings but is a separate build, priced and approved on its own. In spring storm season, agree who calls the move indoors and by what time, since a tent is no shelter from lightning.
Accommodation and Where Guests Should Stay
There are no guest rooms at The Olana. The dressing suites and Tea Room are for getting ready, so book a room block in the Lake Dallas, Corinth and Flower Mound corridor and run a shuttle.
| Hotel | Why stay here | Getting to the venue |
|---|---|---|
| Best Western Plus Lake Dallas Inn & Suites | Closest practical block, simple and inexpensive | 5 to 15 minutes by car |
| Fairfield Inn & Suites Corinth South Denton Area | Free breakfast and parking, easy group block | 10 to 20 minutes; no hotel shuttle |
| Courtyard Dallas Flower Mound | On the Flower Mound River Walk, with restaurants nearby for a welcome dinner | 15 to 25 minutes by car |
Put everyone in one or two hotels close to the venue for the wedding nights and run a single shuttle loop. Guests adding a city break can move to Dallas afterward; a downtown base turns every trip to the venue into an hour each way.
Catering, Vendors and the Party
Food and drink are in-house with no exceptions. Catering runs $56 to $97 per guest and bar $31 to $52, both before a 22% service charge and sales tax. Packages include tableware, linen napkins and cake cutting, and the bar includes bartenders and glassware. There’s no BYOB, no shots and no drinks without a mixer, and outside alcohol isn’t allowed anywhere on the property, the parking lot included. Have the champagne for getting ready ordered through the venue rather than packed by a bridesmaid.
Outside vendors are allowed with an indemnification agreement and a certificate of insurance on file, but the vendor package minimum still applies. Planning services are included, so an independent planner is optional; add one if you’re hosting several events or a large out-of-town guest list. There’s no single published curfew: your contract sets a rental window that covers setup, the party and breakdown, so get the last-song, last-call and guests-out times in writing. Venue staff don’t install or remove personal décor, and nothing can be delivered or stored before the wedding day, so book florists and rental companies who can install and strike inside your window.
Ceremony Options and Legal Requirements
Vows happen on the Front Lawn or in the Ballroom, and a ceremony here is fully legal with a Texas marriage license and an authorized officiant. Denton County charges $81 for the license, or $21 with a state-approved premarital course, which also waives the 72-hour waiting period. The license is valid for 90 days, so couples flying in should pick it up at least three days before a Saturday wedding.
Getting There and Transportation
| From | Best route | Time |
|---|---|---|
| DFW International Airport | Car or shuttle, TX-121 to I-35E north | 30 to 45 minutes |
| Dallas Love Field | Car, I-35E north | 45 to 65 minutes |
| Downtown Dallas | Car, I-35E north | 45 to 70 minutes |
| Central Fort Worth | Car | 50 to 75 minutes |
Point guests to DFW and plan on cars. The DCTA A-train stops nearby but doesn’t reach the venue and doesn’t run on Sundays, so a hotel shuttle with an early and a late return is the only reliable plan for the wedding night. Confirm with the venue where a full-size coach can turn and unload.
Best Time of Year for a Wedding at The Olana
April and late October to early November are the picks: warm days, comfortable evenings and lawn ceremonies that don’t punish guests. May is the wettest month and June to September runs hot, so summer weddings work best indoors with a short outdoor portrait session.

Best For / Things to Consider
Best for: Couples with 120 to 180 guests who want a grand interior to carry the day, a dependable indoor plan, and an in-house team that handles food, bar and most vendors. Also a strong weekday option for anyone with flexible dates.
Things to consider: No rooms on site, so hotels and shuttles are on you. Catering and bar are in-house, the vendor package is a minimum on every date, and cancellation terms are unforgiving. At 200 to 250 guests, dinner spreads across several rooms.
Questions to Ask Before Booking
- What does our tier of the vendor package include, and does hiring an outside photographer or florist reduce it?
- What is the service charge on catering and bar, and does it include gratuity?
- Can we see a drawn floor plan at our guest count with the band, bars and dance floor in place?
- In the rain, which room hosts cocktails while the Ballroom is flipped, and how long does the flip take?
- What are the exact times for last song, last call and guests out, and what does an extra hour cost?
- Which rooms and lawns are private to us, and will any other activity be on site that day?
- How much is the rental deposit, and when are the booking installments due?
- Where can a full-size coach stop, turn and unload?
- Which bar tier covers the brands and hours we want, and how are non-drinkers and children priced?
- Is a lawn tent permitted, and who supplies and approves it?
Similar Wedding Venues to Compare
- Knotting Hill Place, Little Elm: a European-style venue with a Cathedral and ballroom each listed for 300 guests, and outside catering allowed for a fee. Better for bigger lists and couples with their own caterer.
- The Hillside Estate, Cross Roads: another French-inspired estate, with an indoor chapel and Great Hall each seating 300. Better for a clean chapel-to-reception sequence at a larger count.
- Hotel Crescent Court, Uptown Dallas: a hotel ballroom seating 200 for dinner, with guest rooms upstairs. Better when keeping guests under one roof matters more than a standalone mansion.
