Thanksgiving in Houston can be a dressed-up dinner with three generations at the table, a generous hotel buffet, or a plate of turkey and dressing that leaves the rest of the day free. Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 26, 2026, and every restaurant below has confirmed it's open for dine-in that day.
For a special occasion, we'd start with Bludorn. Truluck's is the easy call for a complete traditional dinner at a set price, and Pappas Bar-B-Q keeps it simple with a $21.95 turkey-and-ham plate. Kiran's brings an Indian point of view to the holiday, and Remi lets turkey lovers, brunch people, and vegan diners share a table without anyone settling.
The guide covers Houston proper plus Katy, Sugar Land, Friendswood, and The Woodlands. Pick the part of town first, then the meal: crossing the metro for a holiday lunch is a very different plan from eating close to home. Hosting at home instead? Our Houston Thanksgiving takeout guide covers the best orders and their deadlines.

Special-occasion Thanksgiving dinners in Houston
These are the tables to book when dinner is the main event: individual choices at every course and enough of the familiar dishes to make it feel like Thanksgiving. Three of the four come from chef Aaron Bludorn's group, so the choice between them is mostly about neighborhood and menu style.

Bludorn
807 Taft St, Houston, TX 77019, USA
Bludorn's Thanksgiving feels like a proper night out while keeping the shape of a family meal. Everyone picks a starter, main, and dessert, and the table shares bowls of stuffing, potatoes, sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and cranberry sauce. Turkey comes with light and dark meat, while gnocchi with autumn squash, blackened snapper, and hanger steak cover everyone else. Dessert is pumpkin pie or chocolate-bourbon pecan pie. Details: $105 for three courses; children's two-course menu $55 (check the age cutoff when booking). Prepaid reservations; choose a holiday seating when you book. Optional add-ons cost extra.

Bar Bludorn
9061 Gaylord Dr Ste 200, Houston, TX 77024, USA
Bar Bludorn brings the same team's cooking to a more relaxed tavern room in Memorial. The three-course menu lets you stay traditional with turkey or go for steak frites, salmon, or squash ravioli, which helps when the group agrees on eating out but not on what belongs on the plate. The turkey already comes with stuffing, potatoes, cranberry sauce, and gravy. Details: $75 for three courses; extra sides $12 each. Prepaid reservations; choose your seating when you book. Ask about children's pricing.

Navy Blue
2445 Times Blvd, Houston, TX 77005, USA
Navy Blue lets Gulf seafood share the holiday spotlight. Turkey roulade is on the menu, but so are branzino, scallops, hanger steak, and a mushroom pasta, and starting with seafood gumbo or shrimp toast makes the meal feel distinctly Houston. Its kids' menu also has the clearest age cutoff of the special-occasion picks. Details: $85 for three courses; $45 two-course menu for children under 10. Extra sides $10 each; seafood add-ons cost more. Prepaid reservations; choose your seating when you book.

Perseid
4110 Loretto Dr, Houston, TX 77006, USA
Perseid, the Gulf Coast-inspired bistro at Hotel Saint Augustine, suits a couple or a small group who'd rather settle in than work through a buffet. Thanksgiving here is a three-course prix fixe with an optional wine pairing. The holiday dishes haven't been posted yet, so check with the restaurant first if anyone at the table has a dietary need. Details: $90 per person before tax and gratuity; wine pairing extra. Reserve the November 26 Thanksgiving experience and choose an available seating.

Traditional turkey dinners and steakhouses
Start here for turkey with all the usual sides, plus a steak for anyone who'd rather skip the bird. Several of these restaurants have branches across the metro, so book the one closest to whoever's coming; every location is on the map above.

Federal American Grill
510 Shepherd Dr, Houston, TX 77007, USA
Federal is the most practical answer for a family spread across Houston. The same three-course Thanksgiving runs at all six locations, so you can pick a sensible meeting point without changing the plan. Downtown works for a city day (and pairs well with the parade), Shepherd covers the Washington Avenue side of town, and Katy and Oak Ridge North save the drive in. Locations: Shepherd, Hedwig Village, Downtown, River Oaks, Katy, and Oak Ridge North. Details: $68 for three courses, plus tax and gratuity; 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Reserve the exact branch, and check children's pricing and the dish lineup with that location.

Brenner's Steakhouse
10911 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079, USA
The original Brenner's suits families who want a traditional dining room and the freedom to order beyond turkey. Its house-and-garden setting makes the meal feel like an occasion, and the turkey plate sits alongside the regular signature menu. With holiday hours of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., this is the Brenner's for lunch. Details: $65 turkey plate (a single plate, not a three-course package); signature menu also available. 11 a.m.–7 p.m.

Brenner's on the Bayou
1 Birdsall St, Houston, TX 77007, USA
Brenner's on the Bayou doesn't start Thanksgiving service until 5 p.m., which makes it one of the few places here built around an evening meal. The wooded bayou setting gives the night a sense of escape, and you can order the turkey plate or anything from the signature menu. Details: $65 turkey plate; signature menu also available. 5–9 p.m. Book this location specifically, not the Katy Freeway original.

Truluck's
5350 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77056, USA
Truluck's is the simplest call for anyone who wants Thanksgiving with the beginning and end already included. The dinner covers soup or salad, herb-roasted turkey with the holiday sides, and a choice of cake for dessert. It sits neatly between a single turkey plate and a much pricier buffet. Locations: Galleria and The Woodlands (Hughes Landing). Details: $59 adults; $29 for children 12 and under. Galleria noon–9 p.m.; The Woodlands 11 a.m.–8 p.m. Extra sides and drinks are additional. Reserve the right location.

Perry's Steakhouse & Grille
9827 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77024, USA
Perry's keeps Thanksgiving close to home for much of the metro. The holiday meal starts with soup or salad and moves on to smoked turkey with the usual sides, and the regular dinner menu stays available. From 4 p.m., a $59 caramelized prime rib gives anyone who isn't there for turkey a proper alternative. Locations: Memorial City, Champions, Katy, Sugar Land, Baybrook (Friendswood), and The Woodlands. Details: $59 Thanksgiving menu; pumpkin cheesecake $10 extra. $19 children's turkey plate for ages 12 and under. 11 a.m.–9 p.m.; prime rib 4–9 p.m. Choose the exact restaurant when booking.

Fleming's
788 W Sam Houston Pkwy N Ste 120, Houston, TX 77024, USA
Fleming's settles the turkey-or-steak debate by putting roast turkey, petite filet, and bone-in ribeye on the same holiday menu, each with a starter and shared sides. The full dinner menu is available too. Kids come out ahead on dessert: it's included on the children's menu, while adults order it separately. Locations: Town & Country and The Woodlands. Details: Turkey $64, petite filet $78, ribeye $95; adult dessert extra. Children 12 and under: turkey $33, filet $36, mac and cheese $24, dessert included. Both locations 11 a.m.–8 p.m.; lunch and Social Hour menus aren't offered that day.
Buffets, brunch, and Thanksgiving with a twist
This is where Houston's range shows: a Four Seasons buffet, an Uptown brunch where everyone orders their own plate, and Indian, Brazilian, and African-Latin menus that keep turkey on the table without making it the whole story.

Toro Toro at Four Seasons Hotel Houston
1300 Lamar St, Houston, TX 77010, USA
Toro Toro is the buffet to book when the meal is the day's main event. Traditional Thanksgiving dishes and interactive stations let everyone build their own feast, and the Four Seasons setting makes it feel suitably celebratory. After brunch the restaurant switches to a la carte dinner, so it also works once the busiest part of the day is over. Details: Buffet 10 a.m.–3 p.m.: $150 adults, $65 ages 6–11, free for 5 and under; tax and service charge extra; complimentary valet. Separate a la carte dinner 5:30–10 p.m.

Remi at Hotel Granduca
1080 Uptown Park Blvd, Houston, TX 77056, USA
Remi's Thanksgiving brunch is a la carte, so one person can have roast turkey, another can order brunch, and a vegan guest gets a proper mushroom-ravioli main instead of a plate of sides. The turkey comes with stuffing, potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and cranberry-orange compote. Because everything's priced individually, a light eater doesn't end up paying buffet prices. Details: 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Turkey plate $45; vegan mushroom ravioli $29; children's dishes $12–$14; holiday desserts $12. Other brunch and Italian dishes at regular menu prices.

Kiran's
2925 Richmond Ave Ste 160, Houston, TX 77098, USA
Kiran's gives the holiday a distinctly Indian point of view. Tandoori turkey shares the buffet with a paneer centerpiece for vegetarians, alongside traditional and less traditional holiday dishes and house-made desserts. It suits a table that wants the ceremony of Thanksgiving with different flavors along the way. The paneer contains dairy, so vegan guests should talk to the restaurant first. Details: Book the November 26 Thanksgiving Day Buffet and choose a seating. Pricing varies by guest, so call 713-960-8472 to confirm adult and children's rates before you book.

Casa do Brasil
2800 Sage Rd Ste A100, Houston, TX 77056, USA
Casa do Brasil solves the problem of the relative who wants turkey sitting next to the one who wants steak. The Full Experience brings the salad bar, continuously served meats, tableside turkey, and dessert. The turkey option keeps the salad bar, turkey, and dessert without the full meat service. Both are complete meals, so choose by appetite. Details: 10:30 a.m.–8 p.m. Full Experience $75; Salad Bar & Turkey $49; both include dessert. Ages 4 and under free, 5–7 $19.50, 8–10 $27.50. The regular menu isn't offered. Call for parties of 11 or more.

Astor's Table
1590 S Mason Rd, Katy, TX 77450, USA
Astor's Table is a welcome change of pace in Katy, with a three-course menu that runs from turkey and stuffing to peri-peri chicken and jollof rice. Ham and salmon are on it too. Dessert has the same range, with pumpkin cheesecake and pecan pie next to malva pudding and seis leches cake. Details: $59 for three courses, dessert included; tax and gratuity extra. 11 a.m.–6 p.m., last reservation at 5 p.m. Call 832-913-6465 to book and ask for Thursday, November 26.
Casual and affordable Thanksgiving in Houston
A good holiday meal doesn't need a prepaid ticket or a three-hour buffet. These two are for a plate of turkey and the rest of the day to yourself.

Pappas Bar-B-Q – Downtown
1217 Pierce St, Houston, TX 77002, USA
Pappas Bar-B-Q is the answer for a full holiday plate without a package price. For $21.95 you get smoked turkey and ham, dressing, green-bean casserole, yams, gravy, cranberry sauce, and a roll. It's easy to fit around the rest of the day, and the regular barbecue menu is there for anyone who'd rather have brisket. Details: Dine-in 9 a.m.–6 p.m.; $21.95 per holiday plate, no substitutions. The plate is a dine-in meal, separate from the catering packages. Check your nearest location in the Pappas directory before you go.

Cleburne Cafeteria
3606 Bissonnet St, Houston, TX 77005, USA
Cleburne is for the Thanksgiving where nobody wants a fixed menu. The cafeteria line lets each person choose their own plate and portion, which works well for mixed appetites and picky eaters. Expect a busy holiday service rather than a reserved three-course dinner. Details: Thanksgiving hours 11 a.m.–8 p.m.; food priced by item. Call 713-667-2386 for the day's selection or group questions.
Tips for booking Thanksgiving in Houston
Compare the meal, not just the price. A $65 turkey plate isn't the same purchase as a $59 three-course dinner. Dessert is extra for adults at Perry's and Fleming's, and extra sides cost more at Bar Bludorn and Navy Blue.
Book the branch closest to the people coming. Federal and Perry's each have six metro locations, and Truluck's and Fleming's both have restaurants in The Woodlands. Check the exact address before paying or sending details to the group, and call if the online calendar can't fit a large party.
Plan around the downtown parade. The H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade starts downtown at 9 a.m. on November 26. If you're pairing it with Toro Toro or Federal Downtown, allow time for street closures and parking, and check the city's closure notice the week of the holiday.
