Houston does Christmas drinks in several registers: the bar with ornaments on every surface, the tropical escape where Santa has misplaced his winter coat, and the neighborhood hangout that puts up the lights and lets the regulars do the rest. This guide covers 24 of the best, from ticketed spectacles to good bars that go festive every December.
Start with Johnny's Gold Brick for the classic Christmas-bar night, Winnie's when food needs equal billing, or Nickel City for Sippin' Santa's tropical take. The big newcomer this year is Mariah Carey's Holiday Bar, opening November 19 at Spindletop.
A note on 2026: Eight places below have announced 2026 dates, events, or confirmed hosting. The rest are proven holiday favorites that haven't posted 2026 plans yet, and each card says which is which. A bar being open doesn't mean its decorations are up.

Heights, Washington Avenue & Northside
The biggest cluster on the map: Houston's original Miracle bar, two dressed-up cocktail rooms, and neighborhood bars with their own take on the season. Julep and Betelgeuse's Washington Avenue branch make the easiest pairing. Elsewhere, don't assume every Heights stop is a comfortable walk from the next.

Miracle at Johnny's Gold Brick
2518 Yale St, Houston, TX 77008, USA
Johnny's has hosted Miracle since 2019, and it's still the place to start if your ideal December drink arrives in an exuberantly festive mug in a room where nobody knew when to stop decorating. Bring a small group or make it a date that's meant to be fun rather than formal. Expect snacks rather than dinner, so eat first and let Johnny's be the main event. 2026: Host confirmed; dates and booking terms to come.

Julep
1919 Washington Ave, Houston, TX 77007, USA
Julep dresses its bar and the adjoining Parlor for the holidays, a quieter kind of festive that suits a cocktail-first date or a catch-up with one or two friends. Book a table if you want a seat from the start, then finish with pizza at Betelgeuse up the street. 2026: Holiday details to come.

Betelgeuse Betelgeuse (Washington Avenue)
2101 Washington Ave, Houston, TX 77007, USA
Betelgeuse's Washington Avenue branch has the dog-friendly patio and sits near Julep, which makes it the natural pizza-and-drinks finish after cocktails there. Look for the dedicated Christmas menu. Most groups walk in; parties over 15 should ask ahead. 2026: Christmas menu dates to come.

Plume
1100 W 23rd St Ste 150, Houston, TX 77008, USA
Plume hangs oversized ornaments over its Hollywood-inspired Art Deco room, a setting that already feels like an occasion. Cocktails, small plates, and a climate-controlled patio make it easy to settle in, so dress up a little and plan to stay. 2026: Holiday details to come.

EZ's Liquor Lounge
3302 White Oak Dr, Houston, TX 77007, USA
EZ's puts up Christmas lights and a tree, which is about the right dose of holiday for a White Oak Drive neighborhood bar. It's the low-key option here: no tickets, no theme, just a good place to meet friends in December. 2026: Holiday details to come.

Starduster Lounge
3921 N Main St, Houston, TX 77009, USA
Starduster's Cowboy Christmas brings decorated cactus and chili-pepper lights to a bar already built around West Texas, agave, and whiskey. The horseshoe bar and big back patio suit a casual group, the regular menu includes nonalcoholic drinks, and it's walk-in only. 2026: Holiday details to come.

Feliz Navidad at Monkey's Tail
5802 Fulton St, Houston, TX 77009, USA
Monkey's Tail trades the North Pole for tamales, horchata eggnog, and colorful decorations in its Feliz Navidad celebrations. The Lindale Park bar can carry the whole evening: dinner, another round, no second stop required. 2026: Holiday details to come.

Trashmare at Trash Panda Drinking Club
515 Patton St, Houston, TX 77009, USA
Trashmare borrows from The Nightmare Before Christmas, so this is where to send the friends who'd rather keep a little Halloween in December. Burgers, wings, and quesabirria mean it works as dinner, not just a photo stop. 2026: Seasonal return to come.

Montrose
Montrose is the easiest place to pair dinner with something stranger: Betelgeuse's Montrose branch and Endless Bummer share a building. For a sit-down meal, start at The Toasted Coconut.

The Toasted Coconut
1617 Richmond Ave, Houston, TX 77006, USA
The Toasted Coconut goes tropical for Christmas, with seasonal drinks and decorations to match. The indoor room and covered patio give a group more room than a drinks-only pop-up, so build the night around dinner here. Parties of nine or more should contact the events team. 2026: Holiday details to come.

Betelgeuse Betelgeuse (Montrose)
4500 Montrose Blvd, Houston, TX 77006, USA
Betelgeuse puts out dedicated Christmas menus, and its art-filled rooms are an easy landing spot for a group that wants pizza and drinks without dressing up. The Montrose branch shares a building with Endless Bummer, down the hallway, so it's an easy two-stop night. Most groups walk in; parties over 15 should ask ahead. 2026: Christmas menu dates to come.

A Very Bummer Christmas at Endless Bummer
4500 Montrose Blvd # B, Houston, TX 77006, USA
Endless Bummer's goth-tropical style gives A Very Bummer Christmas a darker sense of humor than the usual tinsel-and-sweaters room. It's down the hallway inside Betelgeuse Montrose, it's 21 and up, and there's no food inside, so have pizza first and walk over. Check the night's hours before you plan around it. 2026: Seasonal return to come.
Downtown, Midtown & EaDo
Most of this year's announced plans are here: Mariah's Houston debut, Miracle with a kitchen, Sippin' Santa, a dated run at Bandista, and a December calendar at HiFi. Pick the occasion first and let it shape the rest of the night.

Mariah Carey's Holiday Bar at Spindletop
Hyatt Regency Houston, 1200 Louisiana St, Houston, TX 77002, USA
Mariah's holiday bar makes its first Houston appearance at Spindletop, the Hyatt Regency's revolving restaurant, which reopened this spring. Expect Mariah photo walls, recreated album covers, and cocktails made with her Black Irish cream liqueur. It's built for the friend who starts the Christmas music in early November. When tickets release, check price, session length, seating, and what's included. 2026: Opens November 19; Houston waitlist open.

Miracle at Winnie's
3622 Main St Suite A, Houston, TX 77002, USA
Winnie's gets the full Miracle treatment, decorations and themed glassware included, with a kitchen behind it turning out Christmas-themed sandwiches and snacks. That solves the classic holiday-outing problem: half the group wants the festive bar, half wants dinner. Daytime and evening entry can work differently, so check both before you pick a time. 2026: Host confirmed; dates and service details to come.

Sippin' Santa at Nickel City
2910 McKinney St Suite 500, Houston, TX 77003, USA
Sippin' Santa swaps the winter lodge for tropical drinks and Santa on a surfboard, a theme that suits Houston's December rather well. Delray Cafe inside Nickel City serves sliders, wings, and coneys, so one drink can turn into dinner without moving. Check entry and minimum-spend terms once they're posted. 2026: Host confirmed; dates to come.

Groovy Wonderland at HiFi at The Finn
712 Main St, Houston, TX 77002, USA
HiFi's vinyl listening bar builds its season around events, so choose the night you want: musical bingo (December 5), a retro Christmas cocktail class (December 9), Motown Christmas on Vinyl (December 12), or a burlesque show (December 19 or 26). A class and a late-night show are very different outings, and each has its own time, ticket, and age rules. 2026: Five December events announced.

Bandista at Four Seasons Hotel Houston
1300 Lamar St, Houston, TX 77010, USA
Christmas Lights at Bandista fills the Four Seasons' 20-seat speakeasy with holiday lights for most of November and December. It's a bar hidden behind a bookcase, with cocktails as serious as the setting. Reserve early and treat it as a deliberate night for two. 2026: November 4–December 28.

Frosty's Christmas Bar
2106 Dallas St Ste 100, Houston, TX 77003, USA
Frosty's goes for scale: three bars over two levels at Lustre Pearl in EaDo, a dance floor, holiday music, and decorations built for photos. It's for the group that wants Christmas to turn into a party, not a long conversation. When tickets post, check the arrival window and whether admission includes a place to sit. 2026: Returns in November; dates and tickets to come.

Jingle & Mingle at Lyric Market
Lyric Market, 411 Smith St, Houston, TX 77002, USA
Jingle & Mingle dresses Lyric Market's food hall in Christmas decorations and seasonal cocktails. That makes it the easiest pre-theater stop downtown, since everyone can order from a different counter. Work back from your curtain time. 2026: Seasonal return to come.
Uptown, Galleria & River Oaks
Uptown's picks are hotel bars and lounges that work best as the destination after dinner nearby. They're more spread out than they look, so check the map before trying to string two together.

Tinsel Town at The Chifley
2400 W Loop S, Houston, TX 77027, USA
Tinsel Town turns the decorations all the way up: oversized ornaments, glittering snowflakes, peppermint in the air, and Christmas music on repeat. It also has the firmest calendar of any Houston pop-up, which helps when you're coordinating visiting friends. The evening bar runs Sunday–Thursday, 5 p.m.–midnight, and Friday–Saturday, 5 p.m.–1 a.m. Breakfast with Santa is a separate booking. 2026: November 27–December 27.

Jingle Bell Bar at Botonica
2031 Westcreek Ln n1, Houston, TX 77027, USA
Jingle Bell Bar splits Botonica into themed rooms: classic Christmas, candy colors, and a ski lodge. Moving between them is half the fun, which makes it a strong pick for a group that wants to dress up and take photos between drinks. 2026: Seasonal return to come.

Holiday in Havana at Emilia's Havana
1800 Post Oak Blvd Ste 6170, Houston, TX 77056, USA
Emilia's takes Christmas to Cuba. Holiday in Havana fills the room with palms, poinsettias, and Christmas lights, with festive cocktails, bites, and music, all inside The Annie Café & Bar. Dress up a little, and check the night's entertainment and cover once the schedule posts. 2026: Dates and entertainment to come.

Blitzen's at the Omni Houston Hotel
4 Riverway Dr, Houston, TX 77056, USA
Blitzen's dresses La Reserve, the Omni's lounge, in ornaments, lights, and tinsel and pours holiday cocktails to match. It's a comfortable second act after an Uptown dinner, and an easy one for anyone staying at the hotel. 2026: Dates to come.
Greater Houston
These are outings of their own, not stops on an inner-Loop crawl. Galveston has the one confirmed 2026 host out here.

Miracle at Daiquiri Time Out, Galveston
2701 Market St, Galveston, TX 77550, USA
Galveston gets its own Miracle at Daiquiri Time Out, the same decorations-everywhere Christmas bar as Johnny's and Winnie's, on the island. Fold it into a day in Galveston rather than a Houston bar night. 2026: Host confirmed; dates to come.

Holiday Hideaway at Chicken N Pickle, Webster
210 Blue Heron Dr, Webster, TX 77598, USA
Holiday Hideaway turns Chicken N Pickle's Webster rooftop into a cozy lodge-style lounge, with Christmas drinks and plenty of holiday scenery. The rest of the property gives a group food and games around the drinks, which suits anyone near Clear Lake. 2026: Dates and reservations to come.

Leg Lamp Lounge at The Woodlands Resort
2301 N Millbend Dr, The Woodlands, TX 77380, USA
The resort's Leg Lamp Lounge takes its cue from A Christmas Story, turning the lobby bar into a destination for anyone whose holidays include an annual rewatch. It makes the most sense if you live nearby or are already staying at the resort; pair it with dinner. 2026: Seasonal return to come.
On the watch list: Holly Jolly Holiday Bar at Azura Bar and Lounge (2703 Highway 6 South, West Houston) is set to host the national Holly Jolly pop-up in Houston. Dates and ticket terms are still to come.
Tips for a good Christmas bar night
Book the anchor first. Pick the one place you care about most, lock in that date, then plan dinner around it. A waitlist isn't a reservation, and a second stop is a bonus.
Know what you're buying. Admission, a reserved seat, a minimum spend, and a cocktail included in a ticket are four different things. Check what yours covers before you pay.
Decide if dinner's part of the plan. Winnie's, Nickel City, The Toasted Coconut, Betelgeuse, Trash Panda, and Lyric Market can all be the meal. A bar with a snack menu can't.
