A good office holiday party gives people a reason to stay for one more conversation. That might mean dinner beside a fireplace, a round of darts that gets different departments talking, or a brewery hall big enough for the whole company.
These 30 Houston restaurants, bars, breweries and activity venues are grouped by part of town, with the private rooms, capacities and published prices that matter when you're booking an office holiday party or company Christmas party for November or December 2026. If you only make four calls: Rainbow Lodge for a cozy dinner, Julep for cocktails, Saint Arnold for a big company gathering and Flight Club for a party with something to do. For a smaller, casual team night, our Houston bars for large groups guide has bars that hold space for free.

Downtown, Near Northside & East River
The closest picks for Downtown offices, from a polished steakhouse room to a brewery hall that fits the entire company.

Guard and Grace
500 Dallas St Ste 100, Houston, TX 77002, USA
Guard and Grace is the dressier Downtown option, and its rooms scale from a 12-person leadership dinner to a company reception. Details: The Board Room holds 12, Midtown 10–20, Heights 10–25 and Montrose 20–40. The larger rooms combine into Ohana for 100 seated or 150 standing, and the upstairs lounge is semi-private for 60 standing. Decide on a seated dinner or a reception first, because that picks the room for you.

Xochi
1777 Walker St Suite A, Houston, TX 77010, USA
Moles, mezcal and Oaxacan cooking give Xochi far more personality than you'd expect from a hotel restaurant. It's in the Marriott Marquis across from Discovery Green, which helps if out-of-town colleagues are staying nearby. Details: The Espadín Room seats 60 and has a presentation screen. Smaller groups can look at Chapulín, separated by curtains, or the semi-private Lounge. Dinner menus start at $78 a person, with room minimums and other charges on top.

Puttshack Houston
1200 McKinney St, Houston, TX 77010, USA
Mini golf, food and drinks in one building make Puttshack an easy outing for a Downtown team. It's also one of the few picks here that doesn't turn 21+ at night, so younger employees can come along. Details: Small-event booking covers 13–18 guests; larger spaces and full buyouts are by inquiry, and December pricing is quote-only. A game booking doesn't include a private room, so plan where the group gathers before or after playing.

Saint Arnold Brewing Company
2000 Lyons Ave, Houston, TX 77020, USA
Saint Arnold is the answer when the guest list outgrows a restaurant's back room. In-house catering, dedicated event rooms and equipment for a toast or presentation make it easy to run a proper company party. Details: Investors Pub holds 100, with seating for 60. The Beer Hall holds 300, with bench seating for 224. Wine, cider and nonalcoholic drinks are poured alongside the beer. Book the event spaces in the brewery building; the public Beer Garden & Restaurant is run separately.

Birdies Icehouse at East River 9
65 Hirsch Rd, Houston, TX 77020, USA
Burgers, tacos, cocktails and a view of the Downtown skyline, with golf and pickleball for anyone who wants something to do. Everyone else can just eat and talk. Details: The indoor Icehouse holds 110 seated or 150 standing, and the covered patio holds 60 seated or 80 standing. Inquiries start at 20 guests, and game time is booked separately. For a December date, reserve the Icehouse or get a weather plan for the patio in writing.

Midtown, Montrose & Fourth Ward
The deepest bench of private dining rooms in the city, from Brennan's ballroom to Bludorn's 30-seat upstairs room, plus darts and a beer garden for something looser.

Brennan's of Houston
3300 Smith St, Houston, TX 77006, USA
Brennan's suits a proper hosted dinner with a toast and a little ceremony, the kind of annual party people dress up for. The rooms have enough character to make it feel like an occasion, whether it's one department or the whole office. Details: Rooms run from the 16-guest Little Room to the 130-guest Ballroom, and the Coast and Wine Rooms combine to seat 70. Many rooms are upstairs, so ask about access when you choose. The Wine Room is a working cellar: cooler, with staff occasionally passing through.

Bludorn
807 Taft St, Houston, TX 77019, USA
When dinner itself is the thank-you, Bludorn belongs near the top of the list. It's a good fit for a close-knit team or leadership group that will appreciate a carefully planned meal in a room of its own. Details: The upstairs private room seats 30 and has AV. For a shorter drinks gathering, the bar setup holds 25 standing. A full buyout is possible, though that capacity counts outdoor space.

Hugo's
1600 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77006, USA
Hugo Ortega's regional Mexican cooking makes this a dinner that says something about Houston, and the event spaces stretch to a substantial department. Details: The Zoila Room is fully separate, seating 80 or holding 90 standing. The East Wing is semi-private for 40 seated or 50 standing, a good choice if you don't mind sharing the restaurant's buzz.

Candente Montrose
4306 Yoakum Blvd, Houston, TX 77006, USA
Queso, margaritas and a big Tex-Mex spread feed a large team without the evening getting stiff. It's one of the few casual options here that can seat a real crowd. Details: The Montrose private room seats 85 for lunch or dinner, or up to 100 in buffet format. Put the Yoakum Boulevard address on the invitation; the Bellaire location books separately.

Traveler's Table
520 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77006, USA
A menu that hops between cuisines gives a 20- to 40-person team something to talk about besides work. Details: The private room holds 25, or 40 with the adjoining dining area (ask how that section is separated). Dinner minimums start at $2,000 Sunday–Thursday for the smaller room and $3,500 for the expanded layout, before tax and gratuity. Groups of 14 or fewer can book a regular reservation.

Flight Club Houston
3515 W Dallas St Ste 100, Houston, TX 77019, USA
Social darts gives people something to do between conversations, which helps when half the room doesn't know each other. For 2026 it's running Holiday in the Highlands, with tartans, greenery, seasonal dishes and festive drinks. Details: The Tournament Room (65) and Magnolia (85) are semi-private, and full buyouts are available. Two-hour holiday food-and-game packages start at $41 a person before drinks. It's 21+ after 6 p.m. Sunday–Friday and all day Saturday.

Axelrad
1517 Alabama St, Houston, TX 77004, USA
Axelrad keeps it simple: reserve a few tables in the beer garden, bring in food and let the night run itself. Outside catering and drink tickets make it easy to stay on budget. Details: Tables seat 8–10 and cost $25 to reserve Monday–Thursday, or from $50 Friday–Sunday. You share the venue with the public, and it goes 21+ after 9 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and after 8 p.m. Friday–Saturday. Check the music calendar and the forecast before you pick a date.
Heights, Washington Avenue & Sawyer Yards
Fireplaces, a cocktail parlor and two breweries with views: this part of town has the best mix of cozy and lively.

Rainbow Lodge
2011 Ella Blvd, Houston, TX 77008, USA
A log cabin with stone fireplaces and a menu of wild game, steaks and seafood, Rainbow Lodge feels like a holiday party before anyone hangs a wreath. It's made for a team that wants to settle in and make an evening of dinner. Details: Orvis seats 14 at one table, the Pullman 22, Caldwell 40 and the Creek Room 40–80. Three-course banquet dinners start at $68 a person before drinks, tax and service, with seasonal room minimums. Book an indoor room first; the deck is a nice extra, not the plan.

B&B Butchers
1814 Washington Ave, Houston, TX 77007, USA
B&B works for a steakhouse dinner that drifts into one more round on the rooftop patio. For a much smaller group, the Butcher Shop makes dinner feel like a private table behind the counter. Details: The Butcher Shop seats 18. Upstairs seats 54 or holds 75 for cocktails, and with the patio it's 140 seated or 190 standing. The patio has a roof, retractable sides and heaters, and there's an elevator upstairs; make sure your configuration keeps enough of the group indoors.

Brenner's on the Bayou
1 Birdsall St, Houston, TX 77007, USA
Greenery and bayou views make Brenner's feel a step removed from the city, the sort of place people linger. Ask for the Loft, which has a fireplace and a private balcony. Details: The Loft holds up to 54, the Red Room 14 and the Garden Room 25. The holiday dinner menu is $95 a person, including soft drinks, tea and coffee, before alcohol, banquet fees, gratuity and tax. Book the Birdsall Street location, and don't confuse it with Brennan's in Midtown.

Julep
1919 Washington Ave, Houston, TX 77007, USA
Julep is the call for a dressed-up cocktail party where people circulate instead of sitting all night. The Parlor gives a mid-size team its own room for the evening. Details: The enclosed Parlor seats 32 or holds 60 for a reception, and a full buyout takes up to 200. If the party runs through dinner, plan real food alongside the drinks. Menus, minimums and the exact space are quoted by inquiry.

Tejas Brewery
2101 Summer St, Houston, TX 77007, USA
Tejas moved into the old Buffalo Bayou Brewing building and spreads beer, cocktails and wine across three floors with views of Downtown. The different levels give you several ways to set up the night. Details: The Skyline Lounge seats 60 or holds 90 and can be fully or semi-private. A second-floor taproom section takes 40 seated or 60 standing, semi-privately. The 250–300 rooftop takeover includes outdoor space, so lock in an indoor allocation for December.

Eureka Heights Brew Co.
941 W 18th St, Houston, TX 77008, USA
Beers, pinball and an air-conditioned taproom make Eureka Heights a low-pressure party that won't eat the budget. Details: Groups of 24 or fewer can request one to three reserved tables for free, subject to availability. Groups of 25 or more can ask about a semi-private section, and full buyouts are possible. Reserved tables share the public taproom, and food comes from catering or a food truck you arrange.
Upper Kirby, River Oaks & Greenway
Warmer, more residential rooms for department dinners, plus a Texas dance hall and a bowling alley for bigger nights.

Ouisie's Table
3939 San Felipe St, Houston, TX 77027, USA
Ouisie's feels like a generous dinner at someone's beautifully kept house, with rooms that range from a fireplace gathering to a wine-cellar dinner. Details: Alsey's Nest, our holiday pick, seats 45 or holds 60 for cocktails, with a fireplace and a small garden. Cooper's Bin seats 32 in the wine cellar, which runs cool. Air-conditioned Lucy's Porch seats 95 and opens onto the garden.

Eunice
3737 Buffalo Speedway Ste 100, Houston, TX 77098, USA
Gulf Coast seafood, a raw bar and Cajun-Creole cooking give Eunice a real sense of place. The smaller private room is right for a department dinner where conversation is the main event. Details: The Garden Room holds up to 24. A covered, heated patio takes up to 40, but treat it as its own choice in December rather than overflow. Larger parties can ask about a buyout.

Kiran's
2925 Richmond Ave Ste 160, Houston, TX 77098, USA
Kiran's brings Indian cooking and a warm, polished room to a sit-down dinner with time to thank the team. Both private rooms suit a department without taking over the whole restaurant. Details: The Polo Room seats 24 and has a screen. The Maharaja Room seats 40, with AV and patio access. Settle vegetarian and other dietary requests when you choose the event menu.

Goode Co. Armadillo Palace
5015 Kirby Dr, Houston, TX 77098, USA
The restaurant, bars and dance-hall feel make this the most Texan night on the list, which is worth a lot when visiting colleagues are on the guest list. Dinner here can easily turn into a bigger celebration. Details: The Armadillo seats 100 or holds 150 standing; The Hall seats 80 or holds 150 standing. Outdoor spaces are extra. Music or entertainment is something to set up with the event team.

Palace Social
4191 Bellaire Blvd Ste 150, Houston, TX 77025, USA
Bowling, arcade games and more give a mixed group options: some colleagues compete while others settle in with dinner and a drink. Details: Quarter Alley (two lanes) takes up to 16 and Half Alley (four lanes) up to 30. A dining-room setup seats 44, with AV for announcements. Larger partial buyouts exist, but several are semi-private and share attractions with other guests, so book the food space and lane time together.
Uptown & Galleria
Coastal Mexican, Persian and a more casual Mexican room, all within minutes of Post Oak for Galleria-area offices.

Caracol
2200 Post Oak Blvd #160, Houston, TX 77056, USA
Caracol's coastal Mexican cooking and art-filled rooms make dinner feel celebratory from the first course, and its range of smaller rooms suits team dinners. Details: Marea, a private wine room, seats 16, as does Conchita, which has AV. Calamar seats 60 or holds 75 standing, and Acamaya seats 40. Some of these sit just off the main dining room, so confirm which space is enclosed. Garage parking is validated.

Rumi's Kitchen
1801 Post Oak Blvd Ste 120, Houston, TX 77056, USA
Rumi's is the polished Persian option for a group that wants its own room without buying out a restaurant. Details: The fully private room holds up to 36. Ask the Houston events team for the group menu and a quote for that room. Valet in the Post Oak Place garage is complimentary.

URBE
1101 Uptown Park Blvd Ste 12, Houston, TX 77056, USA
URBE is the relaxed Uptown choice: Mexican street-food flavors, drinks and menu prices that are published up front, which makes the budget conversation easier. Details: Los Ojos seats 40 or holds 45 standing; Las Máscaras seats 80 or holds 85 standing. Both are semi-private indoor areas. 2026 dinner menus are $40, $50 or $60 a person, plus room minimums. Ask about a buyout if you need the place to yourselves.
Memorial, Spring Branch & Northwest
For teams west of the Loop: a restaurant with three private rooms, an icehouse with free group reservations, boutique bowling and a brewery lounge.

Haywire Memorial City
947 Gessner Rd Ste A 100, Houston, TX 77024, USA
Haywire is the most flexible west-side pick, with Texas food, whiskey and separate rooms that fit a department dinner or the whole office. Details: The private Annex holds up to 30, the private Refinery up to 80, and the glass-enclosed Party Barn up to 100, with its own bar and AV. The smaller Cellar and Allocation spaces are semi-private. If you want a self-contained party, ask for the Party Barn.

Kirby Ice House Memorial
1015 Gessner Rd, Houston, TX 77055, USA
Kirby Ice House Memorial lets the budget go to food and the bar tab. Semi-private reservations for 25 or more are free with no minimum spend, and you can bring in or deliver outside food. Details: Keep it to mingling: everyone must be 21+, speeches and microphones aren't allowed, seating covers about 70% of your headcount, and indoor space isn't guaranteed. Drink tickets or a capped tab help keep spending in check. These rules are specific to the Memorial location.

Bowl & Barrel
797 Sorella Ct Ste 118, Houston, TX 77024, USA
For a small team, Bowl & Barrel stays pleasantly simple: a couple of lanes, tavern food, drinks and time to catch up between frames. Details: Each lane takes six players at $40 an hour Sunday–Thursday or $70 Friday–Saturday, plus $6 shoes per person, with day-dependent minimums. Call to reserve for groups up to 12; 13 or more go through the event inquiry, and holiday packages are quoted separately.

Karbach Brewing Company
2032 Karbach St, Houston, TX 77092, USA
Karbach gives a department a casual brewery setting with the structure of a booked event, and the Clown Lounge is the right size for most teams. Details: The Clown Lounge seats 32 or holds 40 standing. Its three-hour evening minimum is $1,500 Monday–Thursday or $2,000 Friday–Saturday, plus service, gratuity and tax. Hopadillo Hall is the larger indoor room; have the events team confirm its layout and your beer selection before you sign.

Tips for booking an office holiday party in Houston
Ask for a complete proposal. Send the headcount, preferred room, start and end times, meal format, bar plan and any presentation. Ask what counts toward the minimum, how service charges and gratuity work, when the final headcount is due and what the cancellation terms are. If anyone needs step-free access, have the venue walk you through the route to the room and restrooms.
Give the patio a backup. Outdoor space can be lovely in December, but name the indoor room the group moves to and make sure it holds everyone. A roof and heaters aren't the same as an enclosed room.
Feed everyone properly. Collect dietary needs with the RSVP and plan alcohol-free drinks as carefully as the bar package. At taprooms and beer gardens, a drinks reception that runs through dinner needs real food, not a few trays of snacks.
