Fleet Week calls for a few different kinds of plans: fish tacos after a ship tour, a proper seafood dinner on the bay, or a bar where the night keeps going once the waterfront winds down. These are our picks for the best bars and restaurants for Fleet Week in San Diego, chosen around where the events actually happen.
Pick the neighborhood before the restaurant. The Embarcadero is easiest for the Broadway Pier ship tours, Little Italy is where to go for dinner and cocktails, and Liberty Station, Point Loma and Coronado deserve an afternoon of their own. The November 7 base event needs a separate plan, since public entry is in National City, not downtown.
Fleet Week San Diego 2026: The Dates That Matter for Dining
Fleet Week runs November 6–15, 2026, with a few kickoff events from November 1. Public ship tours happen in two different places, so check which one you're going to before you book dinner. On November 7, the only public entrance is Gate 9 at 8th Street and Harbor Drive in National City, directly across from the 8th Street trolley station. For November 13–15 at Broadway Pier, Santa Fe Depot (Blue and Green trolley lines) is the handy transit stop.
| Date | What's happening | Where to eat |
|---|---|---|
| Saturday, November 7, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. | Meet the Fleet at 32nd Street, Naval Base San Diego. Public entry is through Gate 9 at 8th Street and Harbor Drive in National City. | Market on 8th is the easy pick nearby. Fish Guts works as a separate Barrio Logan stop. |
| Wednesday, November 11 | Veterans Day and the Veterans and Military Boat Parade, staged from Harbor Island. | Plan around the specific activity you're attending rather than assuming everything starts at Broadway Pier. |
| Friday–Sunday, November 13–15 | Public ship tours and displays at Broadway Pier. | The downtown waterfront, Little Italy and Gaslamp picks are the most convenient. |

Best Restaurants for Fleet Week in San Diego
These run from the Broadway Pier waterfront into Little Italy, then out to Liberty Station, Point Loma, Shelter Island, National City and Barrio Logan. For the November 13–15 ship tours, the first six are closest. For lunch after Meet the Fleet on November 7, head to Market on 8th.

Carnitas' Snack Shack
1004 N Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101, USA
The easiest lunch on the Broadway Pier stretch: walk up, order carnitas tacos, Baja fish tacos or carnitas queso fries, and eat outside. Burritos and a kids' menu with chicken tenders and cheese quesadillas mean nobody has to compromise. Plan it: It's walk-up only, so keep it as a flexible lunch and expect a line at peak times.

Brigantine, Portside Pier
1360 N Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101, USA
The classic sit-down seafood meal, with the bay right beside the table. Book it for visiting parents, a reunion dinner or any meal where the setting is part of the occasion. The oyster bar keeps going between lunch and dinner, which helps when a ship tour lets out mid-afternoon. Plan it: Reserve and ask for waterside seating, though it isn't guaranteed. Happy hour runs Sunday–Friday, 2–5 p.m.

Dockside
1360 N Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101, USA
Same pier and same view as Brigantine, without the full-service commitment. Order blackened mahi or crispy fish tacos, fish and chips or a burger at the counter, then take it up to the rooftop deck with a Ketch beer. Plan it: Counter service, so it works for a quick lunch or an afternoon beer.

Miguel's Cocina, Portside Pier
1360 N Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101, USA
The answer when not everyone coming off a ship tour wants oysters. Enchiladas, fajitas, margaritas and the creamy jalapeño white sauce make it easy for a family, and vegetable enchiladas, black bean and corn enchiladas and portobello fajitas cover the vegetarians. Plan it: Book a table to keep a bigger group together. Happy hour runs Sunday–Friday, 2–5 p.m.

The Fish Market
750 N Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101, USA
A traditional seafood dining room near the USS Midway and Tuna Harbor. It makes sense when the day drifts south along the waterfront and the group wants to sit down and regroup instead of grabbing something on the go. Plan it: Reserve for a full meal. Happy hour (Sunday–Friday, 3–6 p.m.) is limited to the bar top and bar lounge.

Seneca
901 Bayfront Ct Level 19, San Diego, CA 92101, USA
Nineteen floors up at the InterContinental, this Roman-style trattoria is our date-night pick for Fleet Week. Pizza, pasta and the view across the bay make the evening feel nothing like the daytime pier crowds. Pick Ironside if seafood matters more than the setting. Plan it: Reserve, and leave a gap between the day's events and dinner.

Kettner Exchange
2001 Kettner Blvd, San Diego, CA 92101, USA
A step up from a pub without going formal. The indoor-outdoor layout, rooftop patio and a menu built for sharing suit friends meeting up after separate days, a stylish date, or a dinner that slides into drinks. Plan it: Reserve for dinner. Groups of eight to fourteen should use the larger-party inquiry, and a cabana inquiry isn't a confirmed booking.

Ironside Fish & Oyster
1654 India St, San Diego, CA 92101, USA
Our seafood-dinner reservation when a bay view doesn't matter. Start at the raw bar, then go for the lobster roll or chowder in a nautical room that suits the weekend. Plan it: Reserve, and call ahead for seven or more. Happy hour is weekdays only, 3–5 p.m.

Liberty Public Market
2820 Historic Decatur Rd, San Diego, CA 92106, USA
A food hall in a former Naval Training Center building, for the group where one person wants a full meal and another wants a snack. Bottlecraft covers the beer. Plan it: Order from individual vendors and pick a meeting spot; vendor hours vary.

Mitch's Seafood
1403 Scott St, San Diego, CA 92106, USA
Fish tacos at the Point Loma sportfishing docks, built around what's been caught locally. Grilled fish plates, sandwiches, fish and chips and a kids' menu round it out for families. Plan it: Make it the point of a Point Loma afternoon rather than a quick stop between pier activities.

Bali Hai
2230 Shelter Island Dr, San Diego, CA 92106, USA
A bay-view lunch or Mai Tai afternoon looking back at the downtown skyline, with island-inspired food to go with the drinks. Come for a celebratory lunch or early dinner and plan to stay a while. Plan it: Reserve the dining room. The bar and lounge are first-come, and happy hour (Monday–Friday, 3–5 p.m.) applies there only.

Market on 8th
41 E 8th St, National City, CA 91950, USA
Our default lunch after Meet the Fleet, close to the Gate 9 entrance at 8th Street and Harbor Drive. Thai dishes, Japanese rice bowls, tacos and Baja-style seafood sit under one roof, with beer and wine at Barra 8, so a family can eat together without ordering from the same kitchen. Plan it: Check hours for the vendor you have in mind, and save a downtown dinner for another evening.

Fish Guts
2222 Logan Ave, San Diego, CA 92113, USA
A small, focused taco spot worth the detour: Modelo-battered local white fish, opah al pastor and shrimp, with mushroom tacos for vegetarians. It suits a few fish-taco fans better than a big group that needs lots of seating. Plan it: On weekends it opens at noon and serves until it sells out, so go early. It's a separate stop, not next to the base gate.

Best Bars and Breweries for Fleet Week in San Diego
From the Top Gun bar on the waterfront to dueling pianos in the Gaslamp and beer gardens at Liberty Station, these are where Fleet Week evenings tend to land. Stone Liberty Station and Ballast Point both serve full meals, so they work for dinner too.

Kansas City Barbeque
600 W Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101, USA
The bar from the original Top Gun, still home to the piano from the "Great Balls of Fire" scene and walls of movie memorabilia. Come for barbecue, a beer and the fan moment rather than a big night out. Plan it: An easy add on a walk from the waterfront to the Gaslamp, especially if someone in your group loves the movie.

Waterfront Bar & Grill
2044 Kettner Blvd, San Diego, CA 92101, USA
Despite the name, it isn't on the water. It's a long-running Little Italy bar with burgers, tacos, breakfast and a kitchen that serves until last call, and it's the fallback when a fancier dinner plan falls apart. Plan it: Walk-ins only; open daily 8 a.m.–2 a.m.

Ballast Point Little Italy
2215 India St, San Diego, CA 92101, USA
A brewery with a real restaurant attached, plus indoor and patio seating. It's the move for an informal group meal or a beer-focused afternoon before wandering the rest of Little Italy. Plan it: Reservations and walk-ins both work; parties of 15 or more go through the event inquiry.

Stone Brewing Tap Room, Kettner
1202 Kettner Blvd Unit 101, San Diego, CA 92101, USA
Less than a block from Santa Fe Depot, with a garden patio and a rotating Stone draft list. It's a taproom, not the full Stone restaurant, so plan on eating elsewhere unless a food pop-up is running. Plan it: Stone Kettner's 13th Anniversary Weekend, with live music and beer specials, lines up with the Broadway Pier weekend on November 13–15.

barleymash
600 Fifth Ave #6916, San Diego, CA 92101, USA
Beer, bourbon, American bar food and communal tables for a group that wants energy over a quiet dinner. It covers food and the start of the night in one stop. Plan it: There are no reservations on Saturdays after 4 p.m., which includes Saturday, November 14; larger groups should go through the events team.

The Shout! House
655 Fourth Ave, San Diego, CA 92101, USA
Dueling pianos, audience requests and a room that expects you to sing along. Pick it when the entertainment is the whole plan, not just another bar stop. It's 21 and over. Plan it: Reserve a table to sit together. There's a military walk-in cover offer (bring military ID and a state ID), but it doesn't hold seats, so confirm the arrival window for your night.

Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens, Liberty Station
2816 Historic Decatur Rd Unit 116, San Diego, CA 92106, USA
A full restaurant and a deep beer list in a former Navy mess hall, with gardens that make it easy to settle in for the afternoon. It's a good fit for friends or family who'd rather stay in one place than bounce between downtown stops. Plan it: Reservations are strongly recommended. Make sure you book Liberty Station, not the Kettner taproom or Stone's Escondido location. Stone has offered active military and veterans 50% off dining and drinks with military ID on November 10–11 in past years, so check whether the offer is back for 2026.

McP's Irish Pub & Grill
1107 Orange Ave, Coronado, CA 92118, USA
Founded by former Navy SEAL Greg McPartlin, McP's has a genuine military connection rather than a Fleet Week theme. Pub food, drinks and live entertainment make it the natural evening stop on a Coronado day. Plan it: It's on Orange Avenue, not at the Coronado Ferry Landing, so allow time to get there from the dock.
