Atlanta doesn't stop at plastic spiders and a renamed margarita. The city's best Halloween restaurants rebuild patios, cover dining rooms in cobwebs, turn food halls into hidden lounges and, in one case, invite you underground until four in the morning.

Some of these places work for a real dinner. Others are better for cocktails, costumes or a late night you'll have trouble explaining the next morning. We've split them accordingly, with separate sections for ticketed experiences, the big parties and crawls, and a few places worth the drive out to Marietta and Alpharetta.

Halloween listings change fast: seatings get added, ticketed nights sell out and parties revise their schedules. Check the venue's own page before you build a night around it.

Halloween Pop-Up Bars and Restaurant Takeovers in Atlanta (2026)

These are the full transformations: whole dining rooms, patios and food halls rebuilt for October, plus the two ticketed experiences that are more activity than bar. Most take reservations and the good Friday and Saturday slots go first.

Tin Lizzy's Taco Americana

Tin Lizzy's Taco Americana

77 12th St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309, USA

The Wicked Pig took over Tin Lizzy's Midtown this year, and the whole restaurant gets the treatment: over-the-top decorations, blood-bag margaritas and Halloween specials like Mummy Jalapeño Poppers alongside the regular tacos and queso. It's the easiest all-around pick in the guide because the theme never gets in the way of a normal night: lunch with coworkers, a big happy hour group or dinner without a ticket or prix fixe. Open daily 11am through the season (11pm Sun–Thu, midnight Fri–Sat). Reserve on OpenTable for Friday or Saturday; daytime is calmer if the decorations are the point.

Amore e Amore

Amore e Amore

467 N Highland Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30307, USA

A Nightmare on Highland is built around an actual dinner. The dining room gets floor-to-ceiling décor while the kitchen keeps serving lobster ravioli, osso buco and the rest of the maximalist Italian menu, with 2026 cocktails like the raspberry-and-pomegranate Basic Witch and the smoky Ghostface. Runs Tue–Sun through the end of October. Family nights for kids 12 and under are Oct 24 and 25 from 4pm; Halloween night is 21+ with a $125 four-course prix fixe, roaming magician and costume contest, seatings 8–8:45pm, reservations required. Any regular October evening gets you the décor with the normal menu.

AltaToro

AltaToro

33 Peachtree Pl NE, Atlanta, GA 30309, USA

The Wicked Hideaway turns AltaToro's heated, covered patio into a glowing Halloween hideout with jack-o'-lanterns, hanging lights, photo spots and fire shows every Friday and Saturday night. The Latin tapas menu stays, joined by seasonal desserts and cocktails like the Frozen Boo-Berry Rita, Haunted Waters and Ember Rose. It's the prettiest option rather than the scariest, which makes it right for a date or a mixed group that wants a show with dinner. Oct 1–Nov 1, dinner nightly plus weekend brunch, no age restriction. Book the Wicked Hideaway room specifically on Resy, not the main dining room; walk-ins welcome, two-hour table limit when busy, free two-hour parking at the Nine15 deck.

Barrel Proof Atlanta

Barrel Proof Atlanta

1170 Howell Ml Rd Suite P10C, Atlanta, GA 30318, USA

Come here when the cocktail matters as much as the cobwebs. Black Lagoon is a touring Halloween bar concept, and Barrel Proof is a natural home for it: dark, compact and more interested in whiskey and late nights than restaurant theatrics. From Oct 13–31 the bar is covered floor to ceiling, horror classics play on the screens and a dedicated menu runs drinks like Final Girl, Scream Queen, Widow's Wake and Bone Temple. No cover, no reservations, walk in only, open until 1am weeknights and 2am Fri–Sat. Go early or expect a crowd.

Chattahoochee Food Works

Chattahoochee Food Works

1235 Chattahoochee Ave NW Ste 130, Atlanta, GA 30318, USA

Spookeasy is the hidden Halloween cocktail lounge inside Chattahoochee Food Works, and the most flexible plan for a group that can't agree on dinner: everyone eats from the food hall first, then regroups inside for decorated rooms, themed drinks and a more grown-up atmosphere. Open Thu 5–10pm, Fri 5–11pm, Sat and Sun from noon, through Nov 1. Strictly 21+ with physical ID. Tickets on Eventbrite: general admission gets you in with no guaranteed seat, a VIP bar seat is $15 and a table for four is $100. Reservations are strongly recommended for the final stretch, Oct 23–Nov 1. The wider Works complex also runs daytime and family Halloween events, so make sure what you book is actually Spookeasy.

Underground Atlanta

Underground Atlanta

50 Upper Alabama St, Atlanta, GA 30303, USA

Haunted Underground is the pick for someone who hears "Halloween bar" and wants actual darkness, DJs and a little chaos rather than a pumpkin on the host stand. Underground Atlanta becomes a late-night playground with multiple bars, immersive rooms, sinister cocktails and dancing beneath Downtown. It's not a restaurant and it isn't meant to be quiet: go after dinner, wear a costume that can survive a few hours and treat it as the main event. Thu–Sun through Nov 1, 21+, ticketed on Eventbrite in two sessions a night (8–11pm and 11pm–4am). Follow the entrance instructions on your ticket.

Chicheria Mexican Kitchen

Chicheria Mexican Kitchen

202 Chattahoochee Row NW Ste c, Atlanta, GA 30318, USA

Chicheria's Day of the Dead Cantina is a Día de los Muertos celebration rather than a generic haunted bar, with marigolds, papel picado and ofrendas across the dining rooms, bar and covered patio, plus themed cocktails and specials on the regular menu. The location is what makes it so useful: have dinner here, then walk to Spookeasy elsewhere in The Works for a later cocktail. That might be Atlanta's simplest full-night Halloween plan, dinner and a 21+ bar inside the same complex. Runs Oct 1–Nov 2. Reserve ahead for weekends.

Rreal Tacos - Midtown

Rreal Tacos - Midtown

100 6th St NE #110, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA

Rreal Tacos is the convenient option rather than the main event. The seasonal Halloween Bar menu runs blue-corn birria tacos ($5.99–$6.99), queso and guac in coffin-shaped boxes ($19.99–$25.99), Zombie Punch, Witches Brew and Black Widow margaritas ($14 or $56 pitchers) and a zero-proof Vampire mocktail. It works when the group wants something festive without reservations, tickets or a trip across town. The menu is offered at participating locations across the metro and décor varies by branch, so head to the nearest one rather than building the night around it; the Midtown location is pinned here.

Pullman Yards

Pullman Yards

225 Rogers St NE, Atlanta, GA 30317, USA

Frankenstein's Mad Scientist Cocktail Lab is more activity than bar. You enter a theatrical laboratory full of beakers, potions and unfinished formulas, then help the mad scientists finish an interactive drink. Tickets cover about 90 minutes inside and one cocktail or mocktail. Choose it when the group wants something structured to do, not just a decorated room to drink in. 21+, timed entry, ticketed through Bucketlisters; Pullman Yards lists it on its events calendar but individual sessions fill, so check availability before you plan around it. Punctuality matters with timed entry.

Lucky Star

Lucky Star

1055 Howell Ml Rd Ste 110, Atlanta, GA 30318, USA

Lucky Star's cocktail omakase is the refined alternative to the giant Halloween pop-up: an intimate tasting of themed drinks rather than a crowded party, and the seasonal menu has reportedly included drinks like Banana Zombie, Candy Corn and Black Matcha. The omakase runs $85 per person, prepaid through OpenTable, with seatings Wednesday and Thursday at 6pm and 8:30pm and Saturday at 6pm, parties of up to four. Confirm your booking is for the Halloween menu rather than assuming every seating includes it. A small-group splurge, not a stop for one novelty drink.

Halloween Restaurants Worth the Drive: Marietta, Roswell and Alpharetta

Outside the Perimeter the pickings are thinner, but Marietta Square has the strongest OTP pair in the metro and Alpharetta gets a proper Día de los Muertos cantina. Pick one destination rather than racing between them.

Hamp & Harry's

Hamp & Harry's

168 Roswell St NE, Marietta, GA 30060, USA

Hamp & Harry's earns the drive because it builds rooms, not just a drink list. The Marietta Square restaurant's Haunted House pop-up fills the space with giant spiders, eerie portraits and a life-sized dragon, with Halloween cocktails and seasonal dishes alongside its modern American menu. It's the strongest OTP pick for adults who still want a real dinner: make a full evening of it with dinner, cocktails and a walk around the Square. Through Oct 31, Tue–Sun. The room is intimate and books up, so reserve.

Marietta Melt Yard

Marietta Melt Yard

800 Whitlock Ave NW, Marietta, GA 30064, USA

Melt Yard goes full Ghostbusters for its Slimed takeover, with oozing walls, monsters, themed food and drinks and the retro van-turned-bar dressed up for the occasion. Its everyday identity as a retro comfort-food spot with an arcade makes it the most natural family-friendly takeover in the metro. Adults will prefer Hamp & Harry's for cocktails, but when kids, arcade games or a serious Ghostbusters commitment are involved, this is the Marietta pick. Through Nov 1; walk-ins and OpenTable reservations both work. Playful rather than frightening.

Amasa Mexican Kitchen

Amasa Mexican Kitchen

15 Academy St Ste. 1E, Alpharetta, GA 30009, USA

Amasa brings the Día de los Muertos concept to Alpharetta City Center, covering its dining room, bar and covered patio with marigolds, papel picado and ofrendas. The kitchen adds themed food and cocktails while its Baja-inspired menu stays 100 percent gluten-free. For North Fulton it's one of the few seasonal restaurants that feels like a complete transformation rather than a standard dining room with two special drinks. Runs Oct 5–Nov 2. Reserve ahead for a weekend table.

Year-Round Spooky Bars and Restaurants in Atlanta

No tickets, no takeover dates, no risk of showing up the day after it closed. These five are built this way all year, which also makes them the reliable fallback when the pop-ups are booked out.

Bone Garden Cantina

Bone Garden Cantina

Hidden inside the LumberYards complex, 1425 Ellsworth Industrial Blvd NW #6, Atlanta, GA 30318, USA

Bone Garden is covered in life-size skeletons and Mexican folk art every day of the year. The restaurant grounds its décor in Día de los Muertos and serves Mexican street food, regional dishes, agave spirits and cocktails from its hidden spot inside the LumberYards complex in West Midtown. Skeletons, margaritas and a setting that doesn't disappear on November 1. Closed Mondays.

Dead End Drinks

Dead End Drinks

130 Arizona Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30307, USA

Dead End Drinks has fully embraced its name. The neighborhood bar on the Kirkwood and Candler Park border serves serious cocktails and a proper dinner and weekend brunch menu in a room that leans into macabre jokes and spooky details without turning itself into a theme park. A relaxed bar with a darker sense of humor, not a ticketed Halloween installation. Brunch Saturday and Sunday; closed Monday and Tuesday.

Six Feet Under Pub & Fish House - Grant Park

Six Feet Under Pub & Fish House - Grant Park

437 Memorial Dr SE Ste 1A, Atlanta, GA 30312, USA

The name helps, but the location does more: Six Feet Under's Grant Park rooftop sits directly across Memorial Drive from historic Oakland Cemetery. It's a seafood pub rather than a horror bar, which makes it a good atmospheric meal before a cemetery event or a quieter Halloween evening. Rooftop drinks, cemetery views and an understated plan. Seating is first come, first served; no reservations.

The Vortex Bar & Grill

The Vortex Bar & Grill

438 Moreland Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30307, USA

You enter The Vortex through an enormous skull, which is enough to earn its spot here. Inside it's a loud burger bar with late weekend hours (until 2am Fri–Sat) and a natural connection to Little Five Points' Halloween festivities, which makes it the obvious burger-and-drinks pairing after the festival and parade. Strictly 21+ with ID, first come, first served, no reservations.

Sister Louisa's Church of the Living Room & Ping Pong Emporium

Sister Louisa's Church of the Living Room & Ping Pong Emporium

466 Edgewood Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30312, USA

Church is campy, strange and more gleefully sacrilegious than conventionally spooky. The Edgewood bar fills every corner with altered religious art and describes itself as an art gallery that happens to serve alcohol. Monday night ping-pong tournaments, Wednesday Church Organ Karaoke and the décor itself make it a distinctive Atlanta night even without a seasonal takeover. Open until 3am Mon–Sat; check the calendar for any specific Halloween programming.

Little Five Points Halloween Festival and Parade 2026

Atlanta's essential Halloween neighborhood event runs Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18 along Moreland Avenue, with 100-plus art vendors, food trucks, live bands, pro wrestling and the parade on Sunday afternoon. Admission is free.

Make it a full day rather than arriving only for the parade. Eat early, work through the vendors and then settle into a neighborhood bar once the family crowd thins. The Vortex is the obvious burger-and-drinks pairing, but it's strictly 21+. This is a neighborhood event, not a one-address bar experience, so plan on walking.

Atlanta Halloween Parties 2026: October 30 and 31

Friday, October 30

Midtown Halloween Block Party. The big mainstream costume crawl. Check in at Politan Row at Colony Square between 6 and 11:15pm, then move among 35-plus participating bars and restaurants with complimentary shots at select stops, published drink specials and a $500 costume contest at 10pm on the outdoor stage. 21+, 6pm–2am, tickets on BigTickets. Don't try to hit every venue; pick a compact set around Colony Square and Juniper Street and let the crowd decide the rest. Included specials and closing times differ by venue.

DESCENT Night One at The Supermarket. The Poncey-Highland arts space runs its Halloween weekend as two separate ticketed nights with DJ sets, live performances and immersive art. Night One is 8pm–2am. Tiers run from a limited $15 early bird to $36.66 day-of. Creative costumes and alternative nightlife, with a different ticket for each night.

Saturday, October 31

A Nightmare on Highland, Halloween night. Amore e Amore's 21+ four-course prix fixe ($125, excluding drinks), with seatings 8–8:45pm, a roaming magician and a costume contest. Reservations required.

DESCENT Night Two at The Supermarket. The early option: 6–10pm, same tiers as Night One. Good if you want the Supermarket's programming and a late dinner afterwards rather than a 2am finish.

Haunted Underground and Spookeasy both run Halloween night on their normal Thu–Sun schedule; Haunted Underground's late session goes to 4am. Both will be at their busiest, so book ahead.

Atlanta Halloween Bar Crawls 2026

Choose the route before the freebies. The questions that matter: are the participating bars named, is the check-in window clear, is cover actually waived, are the specials published and can the route reasonably be walked?

Boos & Booze has the more attractive route: walkable stops along or near the BeltLine's Eastside Trail, a digital route and a clear check-in window. Brews & Boos is the one with a premise beyond matching wristbands, and a useful option for Gwinnett residents who don't want to commute into town. Expect a content advisory on the stories.

Four Easy Halloween Night Plans in Atlanta

The Midtown date night. Dinner and a Friday or Saturday fire show at The Wicked Hideaway, then The Wicked Pig at Tin Lizzy's for a later drink and a second, completely different transformation. Both are in Midtown, so you're not crossing Atlanta between stops.

The Works group night. Reserve dinner at Chicheria's Day of the Dead Cantina, let everyone order a real meal, then walk to Spookeasy in the same complex. The simplest plan for a group that wants dinner and a 21+ Halloween bar without coordinating several rides.

The Little Five Points day. Festival and parade on October 17 or 18, vendors and performances in the afternoon, then The Vortex or another neighborhood bar once the daytime program ends. The Vortex is 21+.

The Marietta night. Pick one: Hamp & Harry's for a polished dinner and cocktails on the Square, or Melt Yard Slimed for Ghostbusters, arcade games and a more family-friendly room.

Before You Go: Reservations, Age Rules and Timing

Reserve the full-service takeovers for Friday and Saturday nights, especially Amore e Amore, The Wicked Hideaway, Chicheria and Hamp & Harry's. Black Lagoon is the exception: Barrel Proof is walk-in only with no cover.

Check age rules before building a mixed group. Spookeasy, Haunted Underground, the Midtown Block Party, Frankenstein's Cocktail Lab, The Vortex and Halloween night at Amore e Amore are all 21+. AltaToro, Tin Lizzy's, Chicheria, Amasa, Melt Yard and the Little Five Points festival work with kids.

Don't assume a restaurant's Halloween experience is running just because the restaurant is open. Several of these run Tuesday to Sunday or Thursday to Sunday only, and the ticketed experiences sell by session.
