Filter by section

Miami's best rooftop depends on what you want to look at. Brickell has the tallest perches and the most dramatic skyline. Miami Beach is better for ocean breezes and pool decks that feel like part of the vacation. Coconut Grove looks out over sailboats and Biscayne Bay, while Wynwood trades height for music, big groups and party energy.

Not every rooftop offers the same kind of night. Sugar and Watr are about the setting. Seia, Level 6, Catch and Bellini make more sense when dinner matters. Rosa Sky, Klaw and Cebada have happy hours worth timing a visit around. And Mike's at Venetia and The Citadel are here because not every drink with a view should come with a dress code and a three-figure tab.

Rooftop Bars in Brickell, Downtown and Edgewater

Brickell has the city's tallest rooftops. Downtown and Edgewater add bay views, the Kaseya Center pregame and the two most casual picks on the list.

Sugar

Sugar

788 Brickell Plaza Apt 40, Miami, FL 33131, USA

Sugar is still the first rooftop we'd send a Miami first-timer to. The elevator opens 40 floors up onto a Balinese-style garden with a hand-carved bar and Asian-inspired share plates, with Brickell, Downtown and the bay laid out around you. Come near the 4 p.m. opening for the clearest views and an easier seat. After 6 p.m. it's 21 and over with nightlife dress, and the DJs and crowd take over.

Seia

Seia

830 Brickell Plaza, Miami, FL 33131, USA

Seia is one of the highest dining rooms in Miami: contemporary Italian on the 54th floor of 830 Brickell, with an outdoor terrace looking over the towers to Biscayne Bay. It opened in March 2026, and it's priced like the view. Book early and ask for the terrace, since not every table gets the same skyline. The 55th floor above is a private members' club; the restaurant is what you're booking.

Rosa Sky

Rosa Sky

115 SW 8th St 22nd Floor, Miami, FL 33130, USA

Rosa Sky is high enough for real skyline drama but loose enough for an after-work round. The wraparound deck gives you several angles on Brickell, and the pink lighting does the rest. Happy hour runs Tuesday through Saturday, 4:30 to 7 p.m., and it's the best way in before the DJs and weekend crowd arrive. The venue is 21 and over.

Amazónico Rooftop

Amazónico Rooftop

800 Brickell Ave, Miami, FL 33131, USA

The draw here is design, not height: jungle planting, a peacock-inspired bar and the Brickell towers rising around an open-air room. It's a strong place to finish dinner or start a dressed-up night. The rooftop is separate from the restaurant and lounge below, and it's 21 and over with a physical ID. Weekends run late, so skip it for a quiet sunset drink.

Area 31

Area 31

270 Biscayne Blvd Way, Miami, FL 33131, USA

Area 31 sits where the Miami River meets the bay, with Downtown and Brickell on either side. It works for a drink, weekend brunch or a full seafood dinner, which makes it less one-note than most nightlife rooftops. The weekday happy hour is the move. Later in the week, DJs bring a bigger crowd after dark.

The Rooftop at Klaw

The Rooftop at Klaw

1737 N Bayshore Dr, Miami, FL 33132, USA

Klaw fills the restored Miami Women's Club on the bay, and the bar upstairs is Edgewater's only rooftop. It's smaller and calmer than the hotel decks, with views straight across Biscayne Bay toward Miami Beach. Time it for sunset, and expect steakhouse prices outside happy hour. A retractable roof keeps it open when the rain rolls in.

Yamashiro Miami

Yamashiro Miami

159 NE 6th St fl 9, Miami, FL 33132, USA

The Hollywood Hills landmark's first location outside Los Angeles brought a centuries-old temple door, garden paths, koi water and a pagoda bar to the Gale's ninth floor. Sushi, hand rolls and steak are on the menu, but the setting is the reason to go. It's a few blocks from Kaseya Center and Miami Worldcenter. 400 Vinyl Room, a vinyl-only listening lounge, shares the floor if you want somewhere to go after.

Giselle

Giselle

15 NE 11th St, Miami, FL 33132, USA

Giselle sits on the roof of E11EVEN under a fully retractable roof, with skyline views, showy cocktails and an Asian, Mediterranean and French menu. It starts as a sunset dinner and gets louder and more theatrical after 9 or 10. Reservations are capped at two hours, and minimum spends apply on Fridays and Saturdays. Book early if conversation matters.

cloudM Rooftop Pool & Bar

cloudM Rooftop Pool & Bar

700 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33132, USA

This candy-striped hotel rooftop looks over Downtown and Biscayne Bay, a short walk from Kaseya Center. Cocktails, local beer and poolside snacks keep it casual, and it's the easiest pregame stop in the area. Formerly Night Swim. The pool is mainly for hotel guests and day-pass holders; the bar is open to everyone.

Vista Rooftop Bar & Lounge

Vista Rooftop Bar & Lounge

1500 SW 1st Ave, Miami, FL 33129, USA

Vista reopened in 2025 with a retro, 1950s Latin look, an infinity pool and skyline-to-bay views. It's calmer than Brickell's scene rooftops and easy for an afternoon drink or a low-key sunset with a group. Weekday happy hour runs 4 to 7 p.m.

Mike's at Venetia

Mike's at Venetia

555 NE 15th St 9th Floor, Miami, FL 33132, USA

Mike's is an Irish dive bar on the ninth floor of a condo building at the foot of the Venetian Causeway, family-run for more than 30 years. Expect a dozen or so TVs, wings and burgers, and bay views nobody is charging extra for. It's the most forgiving rooftop on this list for mixed groups, game nights and late rounds. Neighborhood-bar energy, not a lounge.

Rooftop Bars in Miami Beach

Miami Beach rooftops trade height for ocean air, pool decks and dinner scenes. Most sit a few stories up, and that's part of the charm.

Watr at the 1 Rooftop

Watr at the 1 Rooftop

2341 Collins Ave Floor 18, Miami Beach, FL 33139, USA

Watr sits 18 stories above the north end of South Beach with a wide-open Atlantic view, a landscaped deck and a Japanese-leaning menu. It feels like a destination rather than a hotel bar that happens to have a view. The rooftop opens to the public at 6 p.m., so book for sunset. The pool up there is for hotel guests; dinner and drinks are what everyone else comes for.

MILA

MILA

1636 Meridian Ave Rooftop, Miami Beach, FL 33139, USA

MILA's Mediterranean-Asian rooftop is all water features, greenery and DJs, looking over Lincoln Road rather than the ocean. It's one of the highest-grossing independent restaurants in the country, and it runs like it. Book well ahead and dress up. An omakase room and a lounge keep the night going after dinner, but it's the wrong place for one quick, cheap cocktail.

Catch Miami Beach

Catch Miami Beach

200 South Pointe Dr, Miami Beach, FL 33139, USA

Catch's open-air terrace is split into garden-style courtyards above South of Fifth, with seafood, sushi and steak from the kitchen below and views out to the Atlantic. It's a few blocks from the beach but feels a world away from Ocean Drive. Treat it as a dinner reservation, not a walk-in bar. Sunset is the slot to book.

Serena

Serena

915 Washington Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139, USA

Serena is an open-air terrace modeled on Oaxaca's rooftops, with bougainvillea and string lights under a cast-iron canopy and a contemporary Mexican menu. It's on the Moxy's second floor, so you're here for the garden, not the height. Happy hour runs daily from 3 to 6 p.m., and brunch is the liveliest slot. A retractable roof covers it when it rains.

The Roof at Esmé

The Roof at Esmé

1438 Washington Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139, USA

A small pool, striped awnings, cabanas and a lot of greenery make this feel like a hidden Mediterranean hotel terrace. It's about intimacy, not height or skyline. It's also one of the cheaper rooftops on the beach, with $10 drink specials most days. Hotel guests get priority on some daytime pool seating.

Highbar

Highbar

1111 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139, USA

Highbar is a '70s-styled pool deck on top of Dream South Beach, with margaritas, tacos from Naked Taco downstairs and DJs on weekends. It's the classic South Beach pool party, a few stories up rather than a high-rise view. Non-guests are welcome at the bar. Lounging by the pool takes a room or a day pass.

Rooftop Bars in Coconut Grove and Coral Gables

The Grove looks out over sailboats and Biscayne Bay. The Gables trades water for a walkable downtown and one of the city's better neighborhood happy hours.

Level 6

Level 6

3480 Main Hwy 6th floor, Coconut Grove, FL 33133, USA

Level 6 sits six stories above Main Highway, with frameless glass walls looking over the Grove's tree canopy and out toward Biscayne Bay. Spanish plates like paella and a long cocktail list make it nearly as good for dinner as for drinks, which is rare up here. It works for a date, visiting parents or a birthday. Come early for a quieter table; later nights bring live entertainment and more energy.

Bellini

Bellini

2988 McFarlane Rd, Coconut Grove, FL 33133, USA

Bellini is the Cipriani family's rooftop restaurant at Mr. C, looking over the tree canopy, the sailboats and Biscayne Bay. It's restaurant-first: Italian cooking, polished service and, naturally, the Bellini the family invented at Harry's Bar in Venice. Dress up and come for a long lunch or a full dinner rather than a quick drink. The pool deck beside it is for hotel guests.

Sipsip

Sipsip

3000 Florida Ave, Miami, FL 33133, USA

Sipsip is a calypso-style rum bar on the Mayfair House roof, named for the Bahamian word for gossip in a nod to the Grove's first settlers. Expect rum-heavy cocktails, island bites and bay views beside the pool. It's easy for walk-ins, a first date or a slow weekend afternoon. The bar is open to everyone; the pool is mainly for hotel guests.

Cebada Rooftop

Cebada Rooftop

124 Giralda Ave, Coral Gables, FL 33134, USA

Cebada was the first rooftop in Coral Gables, set above the pedestrian stretch of Giralda Avenue. The view is neighborhood rooftops and people-watching rather than the bay, and the menu runs to oysters from the raw bar, paella and Spanish tapas. It's a natural pick for a Gables date or an after-work drink. Smart casual fits, and weekends get loud.

Rooftop Bars in Wynwood, the Design District and Little River

Up north, rooftops are lower and louder. You come for the music, the groups and the pool parties more than the panorama.

La Ferneteria

La Ferneteria

230 NW 24th St 9th Floor, Miami, FL 33127, USA

La Ferneteria brought its Buenos Aires concept to a ninth-floor Wynwood roof: Italian-Argentine pasta and steaks, a deep fernet list and DJs. As the night goes on, the lights drop, shots go around and the tables turn into a dance floor. Book early for dinner and conversation, later if the party is the point. Fridays and Saturdays run until 3 a.m.

The Roof at The Moore

The Roof at The Moore

4040 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33137, USA

The Roof is the Design District's only rooftop lounge, set on top of The Moore's four-story landmark building rather than towering over anything. It's a calm, grown-up place for a drink after shopping or dinner nearby, with a DJ and a short bar-bites menu. It's open Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. The building also houses a private club, but the roof takes public reservations.

Astra

Astra

2121 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33127, USA

Astra is a big open-air garden roof with olive and citrus trees, Mediterranean and Greek plates, hookah and DJs. It's built for birthdays and large groups more than for views, with covered seating for when the weather turns. Come early for dinner or the daily happy hour. Late nights and weekend brunch get loud.

ART Wynwood

ART Wynwood

2217 NW Miami Ct Rooftop, Miami, FL 33127, USA

Arlo's ninth-floor roof has a 76-foot heated pool, cabanas and views across Wynwood toward the skyline and the bay. It's at its best on a slow afternoon, especially on weekends when it throws pool parties with DJs. Go before or around sunset; this is a daytime roof more than a late-night one. Non-guests get free entry on select weekend days, and otherwise the pool usually takes a stay.

The Citadel Rooftop

The Citadel Rooftop

8300 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33138, USA

The Citadel's 5,000-square-foot roof sits on top of a food hall: book a table, order from any of the vendors downstairs and it comes up to you. Greenery, music and treetop views toward Downtown make it easy to settle in. The rooftop is 18 and over after 9 p.m., and bad weather can cancel rooftop reservations. Food runs until 10 p.m., later on weekends.

Before You Go

Get there before sunset. For the big-view rooftops, allow about 45 minutes for the elevator line, check-in and getting seated.

Most rooftops change after dark. Early evening is quieter and often cheaper. Once the DJs arrive, usually around 9, conversation gets harder.

A reservation isn't an edge table. Covered and indoor sections can have very different views. Ask for the terrace or perimeter, but don't count on it.

The bar and the pool are separate. At Watr, Bellini, Sipsip, Highbar, ART Wynwood, Vista and cloudM, a drink at the bar doesn't come with pool or cabana access.

Check the age rules. Sugar is 21 and over after 6 p.m., Rosa Sky and Amazónico's rooftop are 21 and over, and The Citadel's rooftop is 18 and over after 9 p.m.

Dress for the room. Mike's, The Citadel, Vista and cloudM are casual. Sugar, Seia, MILA, Catch, Giselle, Amazónico and Bellini call for something sharper.

Stay in one area. Sunset in the Grove and dinner on the Beach means losing the best hour of the night in traffic.
