Denver has roughly 70 breweries, so we didn't try to cover all of them. These are the ones worth going out of your way for, whether that's for the beer, a specific style, a great room or food and outdoor space that can turn one round into a whole afternoon.
If you're only going to one, go to Cerebral. Pick Congress Park for the original, beer-first taproom or West Highland for Neapolitan-style pizza in a converted church. Bierstadt is the lager stop, Cohesion is the most focused Czech beer experience in town, Our Mutual Friend is our favorite all-around RiNo brewery, Comrade is the call for West Coast IPA and Hogshead is where you go for a hand-pulled pint.
Don't try to cross the whole city in one afternoon. RiNo is the easiest neighborhood for brewery hopping, but plenty of the best spots are well outside it. Pick one part of town, stick to two or three places and sort out a designated driver, transit or a rideshare before the first round.

RiNo and Downtown Denver Breweries
RiNo is the easiest place to plan a Denver brewery afternoon. Bierstadt, Our Mutual Friend, Ratio and Great Divide are close enough to walk between, and each one gives you something different. Add Woods Boss or Spangalang for Five Points, Full Frame for coffee or brunch and Black Shirt when pizza and live music matter as much as the beer.

Bierstadt Lagerhaus
2875 Blake St, Denver, CO 80205, USA
Bierstadt sets the lager standard in Denver. The order is the Slow Pour Pils, which takes its time on purpose and is worth the wait, but don't skip the Helles or Dunkel. The huge industrial room has games and a long patio, and the German-leaning kitchen's pretzels, sausages and schnitzel make another round an easy call.

Our Mutual Friend Brewing
2810 Larimer St, Denver, CO 80205, USA
This is the RiNo brewery we'd pick when beer nerds and people who just want a great pint are in the same group. The list moves easily between lagers, IPAs, saisons, barrel-aged beers and smoked styles, often with Colorado-grown ingredients. Pit Fiend Barbecue is next door, so grab a tray, buy a beer and eat on OMF's patio. Pit Fiend isn't open every day and can sell out.

Ratio Beerworks
2920 Larimer St, Denver, CO 80205, USA
Ratio brings a punk, independent-music streak to an otherwise polished taproom. The board is broad, with an easy golden ale and Mexican-style lager next to saisons, IPAs and rotating releases. Larimer is the one for a RiNo crawl. Overland feels more like a neighborhood outing, and it's the location with a full food menu.

Great Divide Brewery & Roadhouse
3040 Blake St #101, Denver, CO 80205, USA
Great Divide closed its old Denver taprooms in 2025, and this RiNo spot is where to find the longtime brand now. You'll get the familiar lineup and limited releases, plus burgers, seasonal plates, brunch, happy hour and dinner. It beats most taprooms when one person wants a tasting and everyone else wants a real meal.

Woods Boss Brewing
2210 California St, Denver, CO 80205, USA
Woods Boss is the Five Points taproom that too many RiNo crawls miss. The forest theme runs through the room, the board moves from IPAs to farmhouse ales, and the heated patio keeps it working when the weather turns. There's no kitchen, but snacks are on hand and nearby restaurants will deliver to your seat.

Full Frame Beer
1139 20th St, Denver, CO 80202, USA
Full Frame is one of the best recent additions to central Denver. The bright, photography-themed room opens early for coffee and brunch, then shifts to pale ales, hoppy releases, cocktails and evening events. It's a smart stop before an afternoon game at Coors Field, or when half the group isn't ready for beer at noon.

Spangalang Brewery
2736 Welton St #102, Denver, CO 80205, USA
Spangalang feels rooted in Five Points, not just located there. The name comes from jazz, and the room leans into that history with live music and neighborhood programming alongside house beer and a food menu. Pick it when you want a brewery that feels connected to its block, not another interchangeable industrial taproom.

Black Shirt Brewing Co.
3719 Walnut St, Denver, CO 80205, USA
Black Shirt is an easy pick when you want dinner and entertainment with your beer. The kitchen makes pizza with spent grain in the dough, and the beer garden hosts live music and regular events. It's better for a long group hang than a quick flight.

Wynkoop Brewing Company
1634 18th St, Denver, CO 80202, USA
Wynkoop opened in 1988 as Colorado's first brewpub, and it's still the place to go for a piece of Denver beer history. The beer is brewed in the basement of a big historic building that also holds a restaurant, pool hall and event spaces. We wouldn't choose it over Cerebral or Bierstadt on beer alone, but it's a great stop if you're staying near Union Station.

Central, East and South Denver Breweries
Some of Denver's best beer-first stops are here. Cerebral and Cohesion can anchor a whole day, Station 26 and 4 Noses are better for a roomy neighborhood hang, and Comrade is worth the trip across town for hop-forward beer. FlyteCo covers the group that wants something to do. Farther south, Novel Strand is the beer-first choice, Monolith is the most eccentric and Platt Park is the easiest place to pair a pint with a casual meal.

Cerebral Brewing
1477 Monroe St, Denver, CO 80206, USA
Cerebral is our pick for the best brewery in Denver. It made its name on expressive IPAs, and its lagers are now strong enough that nobody should write it off as just a hazy spot. Congress Park is the original brewery and taproom, with food trucks. West Denver's West Highland taproom pours the beer in a converted church with a mezzanine, a sunny patio and Neapolitan-style pizza from Outside Pizza, so it's the better call for dinner or a group.

Cohesion Brewing Company
3851 Steele St Unit 1388, Denver, CO 80205, USA
Cohesion is the most focused brewery experience in Denver. The taproom is built around Czech brewing and service traditions, with side-pull faucets, carefully poured lagers, tile and wooden booths. Don't come looking for a milkshake sour or pastry stout. Come for pale, amber and dark lagers, ideally in more than one pour size, and check on food before you show up hungry.

4 Noses Brewing, Park Hill
4040 Dahlia St, Denver, CO 80216, USA
4 Noses' Park Hill location is a big, modern production brewery and taproom with a board that runs from European-style lagers to imperial stouts. Food trucks handle dinner most days. It works for a mixed group because nobody has to agree on one style before you go.

Station 26 Brewing Co.
7045 E 38th Ave, Denver, CO 80207, USA
Station 26 sits in a former fire station and is still one of Denver's easiest neighborhood breweries to settle into. Food trucks and the heated patio matter as much as the beer, though favorites like Tangerine Cream and Juicy Banger have real staying power. Go for sunshine and conversation, not a structured tasting.

Comrade Brewing Company
7667 E Iliff Ave, Denver, CO 80231, USA
Comrade is a strip-mall brewery that doesn't pretend to be anything else. You drive out here for the beer, especially clean, firmly bitter West Coast IPAs like Superpower and More Dodge, Less RAM. The taproom's friendly, but this is really for people who miss when IPA meant crisp, resinous and bitter.

Bull & Bush Brewery
4700 Cherry Creek S Dr, Denver, CO 80246, USA
Bull & Bush feels like a proper English pub that happens to brew its own beer. The business dates to 1971 and has brewed on site since 1997, with British-leaning beers, rotating releases and a serious whiskey selection. Dark wood, brunch and a full menu make it one of the best brewery choices for cold weather or a sit-down meal.

Vine Street Pub & Brewery
1700 Vine St, Denver, CO 80206, USA
Vine Street is more neighborhood restaurant than tasting room, and that's why it's here. This Mountain Sun brewpub pairs house beer with wings, burgers and sandwiches in a relaxed City Park West room. Pick it for a casual dinner with beer brewed on site, not an afternoon of analyzing six-ounce pours.

FlyteCo Tower
3120 Uinta St, Denver, CO 80238, USA
FlyteCo is here for the experience more than any one beer. The multi-level brewpub in Central Park fills Denver's former air traffic control tower with six bowling lanes, 18 holes of mini golf, arcade games, pool and a full restaurant. It's one of the best brewery picks for families, office groups or friends who want more to do than work through a flight.

Novel Strand Brewing Company
305 W 1st Ave, Denver, CO 80223, USA
Novel Strand is a small Baker brewery with one of Denver's more thoughtful rotating tap lists. Its hop-forward beers often explore newer varieties, but the lagers, pilsner, Schwarzbier and altbier are just as convincing. Brick walls, street-facing windows and a short food menu make it feel like a real neighborhood bar, not a production facility with tables added later.

Monolith Brewing
1290 S Broadway, Denver, CO 80210, USA
Monolith took over the former Black Project space and filled it with murals, colored light, music and small batches brewed on site. The beer changes often, and jazz, bluegrass and feather bowling give the room a personality beyond its tap list. Wine, cocktails, nonalcoholic drinks and empanadas from Maria Empanada next door make it work for a mixed group.

Platt Park Brewing Company
1875 S Pearl St, Denver, CO 80210, USA
Platt Park is a dependable neighborhood brewery on South Pearl Street with house beer and a kitchen under the same roof. The list moves from familiar lagers and IPAs to more playful releases, and Gates Deli & Grog handles the food. Pick it when the group wants an unfussy lunch, not a destination tasting.
West and North Denver Breweries
West and north Denver have fewer breweries per block than RiNo but much more range. You can drink cask ale at Hogshead, Czech pilsner at Seedstock, Belgian-inspired beer at Bruz, mixed-culture beer at Crooked Stave or big barrel-aged stouts at River North. A few of these sit just over the city line, but they're all part of the same Denver brewery run.

Hogshead Brewery
4460 W 29th Ave, Denver, CO 80212, USA
Hogshead is Denver's clearest destination for traditional English cask ale. Expect hand-pulled bitters, milds, porters and other pub styles, softer and less carbonated than standard draft, plus a few conventional kegged options. The dim interior feels like a real pub, the patio's easier for groups, and quick pizzas save you from needing a separate dinner plan.

River North Brewery
6021 Washington St, Denver, CO 80216, USA
River North is for people who want their beer dark, strong and possibly aged in a barrel. It makes lighter styles too, but its identity is tied to stouts and other high-gravity releases that climb well past normal pint strength. Go to the Washington Street flagship, just north of the city, for the fuller beer-nerd experience. Use the Blake Street taproom, which has pizza and pretzels, to add River North to a RiNo day.

Crooked Stave
1441 W 46th Ave Unit 19, Denver, CO 80211, USA
Crooked Stave made its name on sour, funky, mixed-culture beer, and that's still the reason to put it on a serious itinerary. The list is broader now, with pilsner and modern IPA alongside the oak-aged and tart releases. Food is mostly snacks, so treat this as a tasting stop or bring your own.

Bruz Beers Midtown
1675 W 67th Ave #100, Denver, CO 80221, USA
Bruz is the place for Belgian-inspired beer, just north of the city limits. Abbey ales, farmhouse styles, witbier and Belgian-leaning IPA are an instant break from the lager-and-hazy sameness of a typical crawl. The Midtown taproom has snacks, a daily food truck and beer education events. Don't go looking for the Off Fax taproom, which has closed.

Wanderment Brewing
800 E 64th Ave Unit 8, Denver, CO 80229, USA
Wanderment is a small brewery north of the city with limited hours and the kind of changing board that rewards curiosity. The beers lean creative without getting gimmicky, moving through farmhouse-inspired beer, hops, mixed fermentation and ingredient-driven experiments. It's not a polished destination, but it's one of the more interesting stops once you know the big names. Check the hours and bring food before you make the drive.

Denver Beer Co., Platte Street
1695 Platte St, Denver, CO 80202, USA
Denver Beer Co.'s original brewery is still one of the city's best easygoing patio stops. The old garage opens onto a big communal biergarten, and the small system turns out rotating recipes alongside the familiar core beers. It's great for groups, dogs on the patio and sunny afternoons when nobody wants a formal tasting. Food comes from rotating trucks.

Prost Brewing Company, Denver
2540 19th St, Denver, CO 80211, USA
Prost takes German beer seriously, with pilsner, Kolsch, Dunkel and Hefeweizen served in a lively Highland biergarten with its own kitchen. Bierstadt is still our lager pick, but Prost is often the easier choice when the plan calls for sunshine, a meal and a crowd.

Seedstock Brewery
3610 W Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80204, USA
Seedstock is an unpretentious West Colfax brewery that quietly makes some of Denver's better traditional lagers. Start with the Czech-style pilsner, then look for German or Central European styles before moving on to the IPAs and darker beer. The front bar faces the brewhouse and feels like a local's room, not a designed destination. Bring food from the neighborhood.

Little Machine Beer
2924 W 20th Ave, Denver, CO 80211, USA
Little Machine is a high-energy neighborhood taproom near Empower Field. The big circular bar makes the room feel social even if you only came with one other person, and the list covers most major styles, so it suits a group with mixed tastes. The patio and in-house food truck make it especially handy before or after a Broncos game.

Zuni Street Brewing Company
2355 W 29th Ave, Denver, CO 80211, USA
Zuni Street isn't our first pick for a pure beer pilgrimage, but it's one of the easiest Denver breweries for a big, casual group. It has plenty of indoor space, two outdoor areas, regular live music, a broad tap list and food trucks every day. Bring the crew that wants room, dogs and sunshine, not a quiet discussion about fermentation temperature.

Odell Brewing Sloan's Lake Brewhouse & Pizzeria
1625 Perry St, Denver, CO 80204, USA
Odell is based in Fort Collins, but its Sloan's Lake spot earns a place here because it runs its own small research-and-development brewhouse. You get more than a dozen Odell taps, scratch-made pizza and a rooftop with lake and mountain views. It's one of the safest picks for a group that cares equally about the setting, dinner and the beer.
Breweries Worth the Drive From Denver
These take more of a commitment, so they're on their own map filter. Cannonball Creek is the most important beer-first detour, New Terrain and Joyride are more about the setting, and Holidaily is essential if you need a dedicated gluten-free brewery. If you're heading to Golden anyway, the Coors brewery tour is the classic add-on, but check the tour days first.

Cannonball Creek Brewing
393 Washington Ave, Golden, CO 80403, USA
Cannonball Creek is one of Colorado's most decorated small breweries, especially for pale ales and IPAs. It won Brewery and Brewer of the Year in its size category at the 2026 Great American Beer Festival. Plan on it as the first stop of the day, and check which food truck's parked outside.

New Terrain Brewing
16401 Table Mountain Pkwy, Golden, CO 80403, USA
New Terrain is a destination beer garden with an exploratory beer list, food trucks, events and a lot of outdoor space. It's the stop for a long, sunny afternoon in Golden. Expect crowds on good-weather weekends.

Holidaily Brewing
801 Brickyard Cir, Golden, CO 80403, USA
Holidaily is a dedicated gluten-free brewery, not a regular brewery with one alternative can. The taproom pours beer made from naturally gluten-free grains, so nobody in the group has to settle. Food trucks visit, but if you're strict about gluten, ask about the day's truck before you order.

New Image Brewing, Wheat Ridge
9505 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033, USA
New Image is a go-to for modern hoppy beer, stouts and frequent releases. Wheat Ridge is the more brewery-focused stop, while Olde Town Arvada is better when you want a walkable downtown and Arty's Burgers Plus on hand.

Second Dawn Brewing
2302 Dayton St, Aurora, CO 80010, USA
Second Dawn is a polished neighborhood brewery a block from Stanley Marketplace. It opens early for coffee and runs into the evening with pretzels, pizzas and snacks. The beer ranges from traditional bitter and pale ale to modern hop-forward releases.

Milieu Fermentation
2101 Ursula St #10, Aurora, CO 80045, USA
Milieu is a small, fermentation-focused stop on the Anschutz Medical Campus. Expect lagers, hazy beer and oak-aged releases, plus hard tea, hop water and thoughtful nonalcoholic options. Food comes from El Meson De Liz and gets delivered to your table.

Joyride Brewing
2501 Sheridan Blvd, Edgewater, CO 80214, USA
Go to Joyride for the 2,400-square-foot rooftop facing Sloan's Lake and the Denver skyline. The roof is 21 and over, while the downstairs taproom is the better fit with kids. There's no kitchen, so sort out food before you settle in.

WestFax Brewing
6733 W Colfax Ave, Lakewood, CO 80214, USA
WestFax is a handy stop on the way to Red Rocks or the foothills. It's a relaxed West Colfax taproom with a creative rotating list, and it's better as a quick stop than a full day out.
Where to Go Brewery Hopping in Denver
RiNo: best for a first visit. Start with lager at Bierstadt, then walk to Our Mutual Friend for something different and a Pit Fiend tray. Keep going to Ratio for a more social stop and finish with dinner at Great Divide. Four is plenty, especially if you're ordering full pours.
Central and East Denver: best for serious beer drinkers. Begin with Czech lager at Cohesion, move to Cerebral in Congress Park for hops and finish with West Coast IPA at Comrade. You can't walk this one, so plan on a designated driver or rideshare.
Golden: best brewery day trip. Hit Cannonball Creek first while your palate's fresh, then New Terrain for the big beer garden. Finish at Holidaily for something that's genuinely different from the rest of the region.
