Miami's easy when eight people are meeting for dinner. It gets a lot harder when the guest list hits 15, half the group wants a real meal, three people are running late and nobody wants to spend the night standing around a table built for six.

The best large-group spots aren't always the biggest restaurants. They're the ones with food that works across a long table, a clear way to book past the normal reservation limit, and a setup where everyone knows where to meet. Sometimes that's a family-style dinner, sometimes a reserved waterfront section, a food hall where everyone orders their own thing, or an activity that gives the night a starting point. This guide covers Miami, Miami Beach, Virginia Key and a couple of western Miami-Dade spots worth the drive. Use the map to keep the night in one area: moving 20 people between Wynwood, Brickell, Coconut Grove and South Beach rarely improves anything.

These are sit-down meals built for sharing, where the food does the work of bringing a long table together.

Doya

Doya

347 NW 24th St, Miami, FL 33127, USA

Aegean meze is built for passing around, so a long table fills up fast without anyone committing to a full entrée. The room's lively and polished but still feels like dinner, not a banquet hall. Barcelona Wine Bar

Barcelona Wine Bar

310 NW 25th St, Miami, FL 33127, USA

Double Knot

Good to know: the bar room and terrace are walk-in only.

How to Plan a Large-Group Night in Miami

Ask for the seated number. A reserved standing section is fine for birthday drinks but wrong for 25 people expecting dinner. At waterfront and terrace venues, ask whether the backup is indoors, covered or a date change.

Keep it in one neighborhood. Wynwood, Brickell, Coconut Grove and South Beach each have enough to fill a night. Moving 20 people across the city usually adds friction, not fun.

Know what the minimum covers. A room fee pays for space; a minimum spend has to be hit on food and drink. Ask for the all-in number with tax and gratuity, and whether separate tabs count.

Put the entry rules in the invite. Several spots here turn 18+ or 21+ at night, check physical ID or enforce a dress code. Guests shouldn't find out at the door.
