By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and RoamRecs, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("RoamRecs," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your access to and use of the RoamRecs website, mobile app, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Platform.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Do not share your credentials or use another person's account.
4. Your Content
You retain ownership of content you create or upload (e.g., trips, locations, photos, notes, reviews, and comments).By submitting, saving or sharing content on the Platform, you grant RoamRecs a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to host, store, display, reproduce, modify, and distribute such content solely for the purpose of operating, improving, and providing the Platform and related services.
4.1 Responsibility for Content
You are solely responsible for your content and the consequences of posting or publishing it. RoamRecs does not endorse or guarantee any user content and is not responsible for it.
4.2 Content Moderation; Removal
We may remove, restrict, or disable access to any content or account at our sole discretion if it violates these Terms, infringes rights, is illegal or harmful, or to protect the community or Platform.
4.3 Direct Messages
RoamRecs lets you send direct messages to other members, including text and shared recommendations or
collections. Messages are a form of user content and are subject to these Terms, including the moderation
and removal rights described above. You are responsible for what you send.
You can block another member or report a message or user to us. When you submit a report, we may review the
reported message and related information to enforce these Terms and our
Community Guidelines. Direct messages are stored on our systems and
are not end-to-end encrypted; they are not private from RoamRecs, and we may access them
where necessary to operate the Platform, respond to reports, or comply with law.
Deleting a message or conversation removes it from your view, but copies may be retained by us or remain
visible to the other participant, and we may retain messages as needed for safety, security, or legal
purposes.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to post or engage in: (a) unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or discriminatory content;
(b) content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights; (c) spam, scams, or malware;
(d) attempts to scrape, disrupt, or overload the Platform; or (e) activities that violate applicable law
or these Terms.
These rules apply to direct messages as well as public content. You further agree not to use messaging to
harass, threaten, or impersonate others, to send unsolicited advertising or bulk messages, or to contact
members who have blocked you.
6. Privacy
Your use of the Platform is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and share information.
7. Paid Features and Payment
Most of RoamRecs is free. Some features are paid, and this section governs those. As of the effective date of these Terms, the paid features are:
- RoamRecs Wedding Map Pro — a one-time payment that unlocks Pro features on a wedding map.
- RoamRecs Wedding Concierge — a one-time payment that unlocks unlimited use of the wedding concierge chat on your account.
Both are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. Nothing recurs, nothing auto-renews, and there is nothing to cancel. The price is shown to you before you pay, and you are charged only that amount.
7.1 Payment processing
Purchases made on our website are processed by Stripe. RoamRecs is the seller for those purchases. You enter your card details directly with Stripe — RoamRecs does not receive or store your card number, security code, or full billing details. Your use of Stripe's checkout is also subject to Stripe's own terms and privacy policy.
7.2 Purchases made inside our mobile apps
If you buy a paid feature inside our iOS or Android app, the purchase is made through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and that store — not RoamRecs — bills you and is the seller of record. Those purchases are governed by the store's terms as well as these Terms, and the store's rules control billing, receipts, and refunds. We use RevenueCat to confirm that a store purchase happened so we can switch on your access.
7.3 What your purchase gives you
A purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right to use the paid feature you bought. Access is tied to the RoamRecs account that made the purchase. You may not resell, share, rent, or transfer that access. We may switch access off if the purchase is refunded or reversed, if a chargeback is raised, or if you breach these Terms.
7.4 Prices and taxes
Prices are shown in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise. Where we are required to collect sales tax, VAT, or a similar tax, it is calculated and shown at checkout. You are responsible for any other taxes or charges that apply to your purchase, including any fees your bank or card issuer adds, such as foreign transaction fees.
7.5 Price changes and availability
We may change the price of a paid feature at any time. A price change never affects a purchase you have already completed. If we permanently discontinue a paid feature that you bought and are still using, we will offer you a refund on a fair basis.
8. Refunds and Cancellation
8.1 Purchases made on our website
We want you to be happy with what you paid for. If a paid feature is not working as described, or it simply is not what you expected, email us at contact@roamrecs.com within 30 days of your purchase and we will refund you in full. Refunds go back to the payment method you used and usually appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. When a refund is issued, the access it paid for is switched off.
8.2 Purchases made inside our mobile apps
We cannot refund a purchase we did not bill you for. If you bought inside our iOS or Android app, request the refund from the store that charged you — Apple or Google Play — under that store's refund policy. When the store tells us a purchase has been refunded, the corresponding access is switched off automatically. If you are having trouble, contact us and we will help where we can.
8.3 Right of withdrawal (EU, EEA, and UK)
If you are a consumer in the European Union, European Economic Area, or United Kingdom, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content. Our paid features are delivered immediately, so by completing your purchase you expressly request that we begin supplying the content right away and you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once access has been granted.
This does not take anything away from you in practice: the 30-day policy in Section 8.1 is more generous than the statutory 14 days, and it does not affect your legal rights if the digital content we supplied is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose.
8.4 Chargebacks
If something has gone wrong, please contact us first — it is faster than a chargeback and we would rather just fix it. If a chargeback or payment dispute is raised, we may switch off the related access while the dispute is resolved.
9. Wedding Concierge and AI-Generated Content
The Wedding Concierge is an AI-powered chat. Its answers are generated by artificial intelligence, drawing on RoamRecs' own published wedding venue collections and guides. No human reviews an answer before you see it.
Answers can be wrong. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and it can state something confidently and still be mistaken. Venue details in particular change constantly — pricing, capacity, availability, ownership, what a package includes, and whether a venue is even still operating.
The Concierge is provided for informational purposes only. It is not professional wedding planning, financial, legal, or travel advice, and it is not a substitute for it. Always confirm details directly with a venue or vendor before you book, pay a deposit, sign anything, book travel, or make any other commitment. RoamRecs is not responsible for decisions you make in reliance on an answer from the Concierge.
The Concierge is not a booking service. RoamRecs does not act as your agent, does not arrange or broker any booking, and is not a party to any contract you enter into with a venue or vendor.
To produce an answer, the questions you type are sent to third-party AI providers for processing, and we keep a record of the conversation. Our Privacy Policy explains this in detail. Please do not enter sensitive personal information — such as financial account details, government identification numbers, or health information — into the Concierge.
"Unlimited" use means unlimited ordinary use by one couple planning their wedding. We apply reasonable rate limits, and we may limit or suspend access that is automated, resold, shared across many people, or otherwise abusive.
10. Third-Party Services
The Platform may link to or integrate with third-party services (e.g., social platforms, maps providers, travel and booking affiliates). RoamRecs does not control and is not responsible for third-party services, content, or policies. RoamRecs does not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy, legality, or quality of any third-party content, links, or recommendations saved or shared through the Platform. Use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their respective terms and policies.
11. Intellectual Property
The Platform, including its design, logos, and software, is owned by RoamRecs or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works except as allowed by these Terms or applicable law.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time if you violate these Terms or if we need to protect the Platform or community. You may stop using the Platform at any time.
13. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available." RoamRecs disclaims all warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Travel recommendations and booking links are provided for informational purposes only. RoamRecs does not guarantee the accuracy, quality, safety, legality, or suitability of any travel service, accommodation, or experience. Users are responsible for conducting their own research and making travel decisions at their own discretion. This section applies to AI-generated output, including answers from the Wedding Concierge, as further described in Section 9.
13.1 International Use
RoamRecs makes no representation that the Platform is appropriate or available for use in all locations. Accessing the Platform from territories where its use is illegal is prohibited. You are responsible for complying with local laws and regulations applicable to your use of the Platform.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RoamRecs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your use of the Platform.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RoamRecs' total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Platform, or any paid feature will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid RoamRecs in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages, so parts of this section and Section 13 may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
15. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms of Service and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Platform shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Delaware, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
16. Export Control and Sanctions
You may not use or access the Platform if you are located in a country subject to U.S. government embargoes or sanctions, or if you are listed on any U.S. government restricted party list.
17. Affiliate Links and Third-Party Bookings
RoamRecs may include links to third-party websites or services, including travel booking platforms such as airlines, hotels, and experience providers. Some of these links may be affiliate links, meaning RoamRecs may earn a commission if you choose to make a booking through them. This includes booking links in our guides, which are provided through affiliate partners (such as Stay22 and the accommodation and activity providers it connects to). These commissions come at no additional cost to you, and they never influence which places we recommend.
RoamRecs does not own, operate, or control these third-party services and is not responsible for their content, pricing, availability, policies, or transactions. Any booking or purchase you make through a third-party service is between you and that third party.
This section is about third-party bookings and affiliate links only. It does not apply to the paid RoamRecs features described in Section 7, which you buy from RoamRecs and which are covered by Sections 7 and 8.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating this page or through the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
